    I would LOVE to see Gallagher and Mount playing up top together behind the striker. Both press and do the defensive work that others don’t so we would win the ball high up the pitch quite frequently. Then we’d get so many attacking chances off of that with both of their passing. I just want to see how that would work out tactically.

    • @cg3518
      @cg3518 Před 2 lety

      @Black Star Tactically, Conor Gallagher has options. Gallagher can play in Kante or B. Silva's position, he has the tenacity to press & skill to progress with the ball. He DEFINITELY can play as an inside forward, but him & Mount is probably too narrow.
      Honestly, I think our defense will be the constraint for Gallagher. Playing with a back 4 gives Gallagher a spot in the midfield. Ensure we have world class wingbacks may also ensure Gallagher can play up next to Lukaku too, since they are creating width instead of our wingers. Im happy Tuchel is at the helm; he has the mind to work it out.

    • @Blackstari
      @Blackstari Před 2 lety

      @Top Blue Wheeeeew I totally disagree. First off you say that like that’s all there is to these guys. Their engine. Last year Mount was our most creative player and was one of the most creative players in the league statistically. This year Gallagher is arguably Crystal Palace’s most important player and he creates a LOT for them. So putting those two together would not have us not be able to create. Quite the opposite. If Barkley was a world class creator he would play week in and week out. He has his moments but he’s no Bruno Fernandes,Pogba,Bernardo Silva,De Bruyne,Fabregas,ect. Those are world class creators.

      I agree. Harvetz is so intelligent off the ball. Many people underrate that part of his game. He has the best "off-the-ball" movement as a striker I have seen. It disturbs opposing defenders and unrests their backline creating a lot of loopholes and allowing for other players around to attack the pockets. Where woudl Lampard play in Tuchel's system becaus that's where Conor Gallagher would play.
    Gallagher is being used as the spare man in the Palace midfield, to go from an 8 in a 433 when defending to a 10 in a 4231when in possession. His role specifically is to press and make runs into the box using his unbelievable work rate, tenacity and stamina. He's another english player who's mix of an 8 and a 10, so could play either. Probably most suited to being on the right of the 3 in a 532, coming in for Kante when he needs resting. But could play anywhere in the double pivot, forward line or even right wingback if needed.

  • @ebtinz9161

    Who says Connor needs to play either in a double six or as an inside forward? Tuchel can play him in both depending on what we need. Our double-six often get chances to run at defenses and take shots from just outside the box but rarely hit the target. A similar situation got Kante a goal on the weekend. Kova and Jorgi however, blast the ball way off target so often. Connor is a lot more accurate on shots from outside the box than the two I mentioned.
    Tuchel has been good at experimenting with players position based on their abilities and his need. James in midfield and center back, CHO as right back.
    Connor really can play anywhere, midfield or forward. He’s that good.

  • @davereckoning9530
    @davereckoning9530 Před 2 lety +1

    Jan, you're absolutely right that the way we 'beat teams easily' is by that 'systemic rotation' you describe so well, the fast-paced pass-and-move, the intense high-pressing etc is what blows teams away. And in fact we did manage to do that against City last season, when we beat them 3 times in a row with just that style of play - even City couldn't handle us on the day, playing that way.
    So, we have to recognise the reason we didn't manage that against City once again at the Bridge early this season was the personnel change we'd made (i.e. Lukaku up front). That style of play is just not Lukaku - he's not got the mobility, not got the touch, and hasn't shown the energy levels needed to keep that approach up for long enough. However, we're okay, because Havertz does, as he showed once again at Leicester this weekend. So, what I'm looking for is for TT to feel able to bench Lukaku for games like City - sure play him against other teams, but against the Cities of this world (and there aren't too many of them), TT needs to bench Lukaku, play Havertz (w. Werner) and play that team-approach that out-matches the opposition in movement and intensity.
    We beat City before, 3 times on the bounce, they still fear us, we can do it again.

    Hey Yann I agree with you that City is the team to be most concerned about as they have the ability to slot players in when one or two of their regulars are out. They're a well oiled machine indeed.
    As to Conor Gallagher, I'm glad to hear that his heart is with the Blue Thunder & that he's relishing the opportunity at CP as this allows him to truly develop into the top class player we all know he is.
    When he comes back to the Bridge I'd like to see him as an attacking midfielder as I see so much of(Frank) Lampard in him. He's clearly been most effective in that role this season for Palace. For Patrick Vieira to give him that kind of latitude speaks volumes as to his magnificent abilities & I hope the powers that be at the Bridge don't let a player of his skill set slip away from Chelsea.

    Chelsea at the moment have 3 class midfielders in Kante, Jorghino and Kovacic. Saul havent been really tried out and RLC is a good player to call upon anytime. For Gallagher, I think his best position is behind the front strickers, in otherwords playing Mount's current role!

      To have an extra attacking player in the team sometimes we should switch to a 352 with a mid 3 of (present and future)
      Kova/ Mount/
      RLC/Kai Kante/Gallagher
      J5/RLC/Tchouameni/Billy
      Front 4 of
      Chillwell - Pulisic - Lukaku - James
      Alonso - Werner - Kai/HZ- CHO
      I.e
      Chillwell - Pulisic - Lukaku - James/
      Alonso - Werner- Kai/HZ - CHO
      Kova/Kai - Mount/Kante
      J5/RLC
      Rudiger - Silva. - Azpi
      Sarr - Christensen - Chalobah.
      The two wingbacks will also drop down during defensive phase to form a 532 in defence and 334 in attack with one of the 8's pushing into the CAM/10 role to form a 3214/325. This way we'll have control of the wings and still have an extra attacking midfielder in the middle and back 3 for protection.

I think AFCON will effect Liverpool more than anything, and during that time, City and Chelsea might start to pull away.... it will probably be the reverse fixture between City and Chelsea that will decide the title, but I also think it won't be actually decided til 2 games remaining

    100% agree Yan, Liverpool do look brittle and top heavy and over the hectic winter period they will drop more points, apparently the AFCON will only account for 2/3 PL games because Liverpool will negotiate a later release for their players so if the club World Cup isn’t in early days of Jan, both Salah and Mane will play their fixture against us

    Brilliant content as per Yan, curious about City. But i believe they have been felled once too often by clubs. I think they're prone to it again, maybe once or twice more. With that in mind I believe we will snatch it with consistency. City game i feel was a red herring, we have yet to really see what Chelsea are actually about other than the quality at the back and brilliant individual talents coming through....simply I think WE KNOW WHO WE ARE CHAMPIONS OF EUROPE WE KNOW WHO WE ARE

    The loss to city had a lot to do with 2 things.
    Playing Azpi and alonso as wing backs. Massive drop off from reece (who got injured very early in the game) and Ben.
    Trying to implement the 352 which left timo and lukaku isolated.
    I think the return leg will be a completely different game (as long as key players are fit)

      On the Man City point, I honestly think Tuchel changed the way he deploys the wingbacks after the Man City & Juve losses in my opinion because i personally only noticed the change after those losses so I wouldn't be too worried about losing to City again, it was a lesson learned from Tuchel and he'll know what to do in the reverse fixture but ye the title race is exciting to watch rn. Hopefully Mendy's absence won't cause too much trouble but ye...great video Yan!

    Lukaku x Werner up top
    Havertz x Pulisic
    With a 3 man midfield we could accommodate all Midfielders
    Mount, Gallagher, Loftuscheek, jorgi, Kante, Kova, Kante, Tchouameni, Billy G🐐
    Tuchel could make all coexist.
