We all thought the line in the Wilford video, "Do you remember when we got stuck in the snow? Ah it probably hasn't happened yet.", was just a line saying that Wilford has powers and nothing else, but it was *much* more than just a simple line.
max young actually not really or was just a reference to a birder mystery novel. That was confirmed in Marks stream about Warfstache.

Actor Mark had a party to try and set his plan into motion. His plan was to kill himself, frame Damien or The Mayor as the murderer so everyone would turn on him and make his life horrible so he can be praised and remembered as the good guy. But his plan goes sideways when people start framing the wrong people and then killing them. The Butler, Chef, The Mayor and the Grounds keeper all left before they got killed.The Colonel is the only person who survived and he shot Abe (The Detective) in the heart out of anger and stress. Actor Marks soul haunts the house and torments The Colonel making him stressed, guilt driven and crazy. He finally leaves the house and goes on to some other country, dying his mustache pink and his suspenders fading over time. The house gets worn down into a small mess and with Actor Marks soul still inside just waiting. The Colonel changes his name to Wilford Warfstache to hide his identity from Celine a.k.a Actor Marks ex wife. Wilford messes with time and accidentally bring Abe back. Abe is surprised and discovers that Wilford killed more than one person but he tracks Wilford down for so long that he forgets the main objective - find out what happened that night in the manor. Wilford time skipped to way after that night happened. Celine and Damien go on a trip and suddenly they find themselves back in that same house, but it's more torn down. So for months, Damien and Celine both go chop down trees for fire wood and then Actor Mark speaks to Damien. Celine doesnt believe him and goes out anyway. Next thing you know Actor Mark, Celine and Damien are all in a void, under the ice. Actor Mark says he sorry for all that he has done and for framing him but if Celine didnt leave him for Wilford, none of this would have happened. Then Celine breaks the ice and kills Actor Mark but his demonic soul breaks lose and infects Damien and Damien or The Mayor agrees to Actor Mark to be the villain in Actor Marks story to keep Celine safe. That turns Damien into the blue side of Darkiplier. Celine floats up to the surface of the lake but never makes it out so she dies in the process and makes the red side of Darkiplier. Darkiplier is the body of Actor Mark and the souls of Damien and Celine. BUT THATS JUST A THEORY!! (this took 40 minutes to type because my phone kept lagging, sorry if this doesnt make sense😅 have a good day/night😊)

So then, back to that scene in wkm, in that moment were the viewer died and was trapped in the house's void with Celine and Damien's spirits.. this whole video took place right before the viewer ended up there. Celene explains what happened and why they and the viewer were trapped there. And at that point, Damien, still somewhat confused, had accepted that he had no other choice but to play as Mark's villain. Celene and Damien go to explain that the viewer is dead now but that she can put Damien in your broken but still usable body and essentially seek vengeance for the both of them.. and look for a way to get Celene and the viewer's spirits out of the house's curse. When the viewer "wakes up", they are still themselves for a bit, as shown by the thinner hand grabbing Damien's staff, and then Celene's "transfer" kicks in and the thinner hand changes to the more robust hand belonging to Damien. When he looks at the mirror, he gives a serious look and leaves without the camera following behind, implying that he's left the viewer trapped in the mirror (or the house, still the same), but giving them a sort of reassuring look that he'll get the job done, for Celene and your (the viewer's) sake.
At least that's my theory so far and from the bits and pieces I've found in the comments. Feel free to add or correct me since I'm not the one to make theories often.

@@aklato7258 DAMIEN takes place directly after WKM. It is kind of in his head. The guy chasing him is Actor Mark who was the dead guy in WKM, he basically stole Damien's body which forced Celine to steal the viewers body for Damien and her to control. Actor Mark is waking Damien up in this story, as Celine has been keeping him in the dark (lol). He wants Damien to wake up so he can be the villain in The Actors story because every story needs a villain and The Actor thinks he's the hero. Hope I helped clear it up a little, sorry if it sounded confusing or ramble-y.

The saddest thing about this is, to us, in the “real world,” Mark is the hero of the story. A nice guy that was screwed over by all his friends. But really he’s the one that ruined all of their lives just because of his own selfish actions. And Darkiplier is really the manifestation of Damien and Celine’s souls trying to live with the rejection and fallout of Mark basically taking their lives and making them pawns to forces none of them could control. Dark lives to haunt Mark for what he’s done, but Mark haunts Dark to live

This is really interesting. I like how Mark is a goofy, fun CZcamsr, but he can still tell deep and touching stories. This is truly a masterpiece of Marks.
Alright, I have a theory about Darkiplier right now. Markiplier (Yes, the MAIN one we've been following all these years) is the TRUE villain of this channel. Dark is always painted as the villain, because this is exactly what Mark wants. Now he has a villain, which makes him the hero. Dark is trying desperately to get us to see the truth, but in the end, because of how much we've been with Mark, we will always see Dark as the villain of his channel. He looks the part and he also plays the part. Afterall, he force-fed Mark marshmellows, cinnamon and a ghost pepper. But that's just how Mark wants us to see Dark. Dark is trying to take back control of the channel and free us from Mark. No wonder MatPat says that we can't trust Mark, because he may be the deceiver.

I honestly love the passion mark has for the story of Darkiplier. All of the lore he made for it and all of the projects that continue to add depth to the characters is amazing. It is honestly unlike anything else you can find on CZcams. His dedication to the story and the number of projects he has that connect to it is astounding for something that is found on CZcams.

It's interesting that Mark looks now exactly like Damien. Long hair and all
Wilford asking "why'd the music stop?" in the distance means that Damien can not only hear what's happening outside of this prison he's found himself in, but also means that "Wilford "MOTHERLOVING" Warfstache" takes place at the same time as "DAMIEN".
"Why'd the music stop?" is one of Wilford's lines from WMW, when the Detective (Abe) corners him in a disco.

@hasith mayanga I'm not sure. I thought this took place during WKM since at the end that seems to be when Damien is brought back to the real world and has Darkiplier powers in the post credit scene. But since Wilford said he should to stop by and visit Damien plus Wilford was intended to show up at the end of DAMIEN so it has to have taken place during Wilford Motherloving Warfstache
I think I heard at some point that the entirety of Damien (the continued loop included) takes place in the moment when the viewer grabs the cane in WKM (the viewer takes the cane, Damien happens, then the switch to darkiplier)

@@faoneill I personally think that Damien and Celine are in our body with an entity and Celine is trying to safe Damien, that's why she's keeping him in this eternal winter. Not sure from what exactly she's saving him from, maybe from being corrupted by the entity. When he convinces her to let him help her, that's when Darkiplier is created - mix of Damien, Celine, and the entity.
Also Mark said that Wilford Motherloving Warfstache is happening right after WKM, that's why Abe doesn't know where the information is from, it was just given to him and his brain tried to fill in the blanks.
Im confused , so where DAMIEN is , is the place of where the souls of Damien , Celine , and our , the viewers are trapped , while we're being Darkiplier , or what is this

@JF_Abridged More confusing??? The fact that Mark leaves the story in videos (and *only* videos) means that this is way simpler than FNAF has been in literal years. There’s no book you have to read through titled “The Darkness Within” or some shit. Just a series of productions on a singular CZcams channel. All that leaves on our end is chronological order and filling in the gaps. He sometimes goes Gravity Falls with secret codes like a Heist With Markiplier, but that’s it. Is the Darkiplier story hard to follow? Yes, I won’t argue with that statement. But it is *WAY* below the heights of stuff like FNAF. For the moment at least, that is an argument with little to zero basis.

So my assumption is that this is hinting to Darkiplier and who is control of it/them (not entirely sure which) in the continuity. Obviously it's shown that they are the souls in Darkiplier at the end of WKM. So this shows how Mark's plot in Who killed Markiplier corrupted Celene and Damien into (to put it loosely) "villains", except how Celene was corrupted first, since she's shown to be the angry one and the one "in charge" and Damien soon after (as pictured). How this translates into the meta is that it seems that in A heist with Markiplier Celene is in majority control, but events after that, Damien is... represented by the white suit and majority use of the colour red in Heist and the black suit and mixed colour from there-on. To sum it up the events of this video are sort of time-displaced in the "real world" as well as translating to Darkiplier's personality. (In heist Dark's more aggressive and spiteful, with use of language and hints that relate to Celene, and when Damien is in cocontrol Dark's more level headed and precise)
and yes this does place Heist a bit back in the timeline but it was pretty much confirmed that it's right before A Date With Markiplier anyway
There's probably a comment that explains Mark's role in this to a greater extent but esentially his actions in WKM paint him as the *real* bad guy (covered up by his popularity) which is why he is very demonic here
The reference for “Date” being before “Heist” is because in Heist, Mark has the suit on from Date and talks about “going on that date”

With Heist though. Well I don't know where to put in on our timeline. In one of the endings Mark asked us on a date, so it would mean that it's before A date with Markiplier. However in a different ending we're sitting on a picnic blanket and we have to choose either the tuna sandwich or the peanut butter and jelly sandwich. And they're pretty old, so it would suggest it's happening after A date with Markiplier. Also when we're being abducted by the aliens, Mark says "Not again".
But also in Heist Wilford is out of touch with reality and his mustache is fully pink. When in Wilford Motherloving Warfstache, his mustache is not fully pink and in the end he understands what's happening, so it would suggest that Wilford Motherloving Warfstache is happening before Heist. And Wilford is happening either before Damien or at the same time as Damien.
So I don't know. Either way I can't wait for In space with Markiplier to make this even more chaotic

ORDER OF EVENTS:
Who Killed Markiplier
Wilford ‘MOTHERLOVING’ Warfstache (either before or at the same time as)
Damien
CHARACTER RELATIONS:
Damien/Mayor/Darkiplier and Celine are twins. Colonel/Wilford and Mark are supposedly brothers and/or lived together for some period of time. Celine and mark used to be married and then celine cheated on mark with the colonel.
IN DEPTH LORE:
after getting cheated on, mark secluded himself in his building (where Who Killed Markiplier takes place) and distances himself from everyone. then, years later, he invites those who betrayed him as well as some others (the viewer, detective etc.) to his house where he planned to get revenge. then the events of WKM take place. at the end of WKM, the colonel kills the viewer who is then transported to a different plane of existence, where he somewhat fuses beings with damien and they become darkiplier. upon seeing the man he just murdered come back to life, the colonel is driven to madness, thus becoming Wilford. WMW takes place, then we get a look into the other plane where Damien and Celine are in this video, DAMIEN. We watch as Damien notices changes or weird occurrences and slowly becomes who we now know (and love) as Darkiplier. (it’s 3 am and i’m really sleep deprived and probably missed some things but these are the basics. watch Who Killed Markiplier and Wilford ‘MOTHERLOVING’ Warfstache and the streams mark did explaining all the lore (all of which are on youtube) if you want more information)
I believe that Damien is at the same time as Wilford "Mother loving" Warfstache. I feel like Damien can somehow still hear William, and the "Why'd the music stop?" And "YOU KILLED PEOPLE!! SO MANY PEOPLE!!"
..now that I think of it, I don't fully know how he heard that. And part of me is afraid to know. Anyway, this in depth analysis is incredible!!
After watching in space with Markiplier 2 hearing this again makes me see the similarities, when mark says “I’m so tired” and “I can’t remember the last time I slept” I realize it came from this, it’s all connected and I never really dug too deep into it, maybe this has something to do with the constant “that’s not me captain” that people kept repeating

Cheating is bad, we can all agree there. But it does NOT equate to murder. Sorry, but Mark is the antagonist for creating all this madness in the first place.
I believe “antagonist” doesn’t mean villain, it means the person who is trying to prevent the goal of the protagonist. The protagonist is often the hero while the antagonist is often the villain, but “villain” generally means evil and “antagonist” just means that they want to prevent the protagonist’s mission. A good example of this is in the video game “OneShot” where (major spoilers, u might want to play the game before reading) the protagonist, Niko has the goal of going home/saving the world, which he believes to be tied, but we learn by the end of the first ending that he must choose one or the other. We think that the entity, the game itself, is the antagonist because it’s trying to make Niko destroy the world, but we learn in the true ending that it was programmed to save real people no matter what; and because Niko is real while everyone else is NPCs of the game, the entity is forced to do whatever it can to save Niko, even if that means destroying the world. So we know that, although they are preventing Niko from saving the world, they are not evil.
