      never once forgot the plug, low on fuel, trim up/down, fresh air in eng. compartment (I/O), safety chain, tie downs . . . etc etc

      @@chubbrock659it’s easier the more you do it just like anything else. But boating depending on where you live and where you’re going can vary drastically, and take far more time learning the ins and outs of that body of water. Calm seas don’t make good captains. Every move on a boat small or large needs to be thought out, the problem people make is they think it’s like driving a car.

    • @OttoTheWeim
      @OttoTheWeim Před 3 měsíci +1

      Do yourself a favor. When you are out on the water get to an area of little to no traffic. Practice trying to turn your boat 180 degrees in only the approximate footprint on your vessel. It will pay dividends when you learn to do it. You shouldn’t even use throttle. Just helm and bumping in and out of gear forward and reverse.
      Also if you boat where there is decent current and/or wind, learn to use and love spring lines. They are your friend and the proper way to dock a boat. You will learn they are a valuable tool when a perfect Parallel docking is not possible or docking alone in a current/wind.
      You shouldn’t need to even be in gear within 5yds of the dock.
      If you haven’t already go to BoatUS and take a boater safety course. It will teach you a ton and make you much safer on the water as well as be able to identify the idiots who have no clue so you can steer way clear of them.

    Took the JetSki out on Sunday for the first outing of 2024 because I finally had time to and the weather was nice. Got out of the no wake zone, gradually increased the throttle, and it spun out before gripping. So apparently I have a bad cavitation issue. I pulled it out of the water and shown a light through both the intake and exit nozzle of the pump and there was nothing sucked up. So I guess I gotta take my pump apart because something’s wrong. Oh the joys of boat ownership 😅
    Don’t worry guys I’ll get this figured out.

    Big Dan, the boaters just need to wrap some reflective tape around the trailer guides so when the tape kisses the water that should be the correct depth. It would resolve a lot of issues with gel coat repairs and impeller replacements.
