I am a mother of a shooting survivor, who was so very fortunate to live. I want these laws to change now. Not later.
I'm a survivor of violent crime myself... I was unarmed and almost killed by a mugger with a baseball bat. No one came to help me... Now I carry a gun, and never felt safer. I will never be an unarmed victim again.

Anyone who thinks they need a bloody automatic rifle for safety or "shoot deer" is full of sh!t. Nothing wrong in having some form of regulations and central database for gun ownership. No one is asking for complete ban on guns but some regulations are needed.

I had no idea he was from there, til now. I felt weird seeing him on my tv yesterday and I changed it. But now I see why he and his wife came to speak about this. He is well known, bipartisan, and his way with words is effective. Incredibly tragic situation here.. I hope they utilize what's possible now. This should never happen again.

@@injerin3705 it has perfect sense for me that you can join the military because you will use firearms either in controlled practice exercise, either AT WAR. But not to kill civilians, which is not the main purpose of weapons for people that have a minimum common sense.

I have shot guns from a very early age way before I was 18, the difference is I was educated in gun safety and handling, also I had a healthy up bringing... These people who commit these acts are not stable and may need help, its NOT an age thing.

Imagine your little baby girl/boy going through this and dying or surviving. Imagine the absolute terror. I do not value any gun laws above that. Simple hunting rifles and hand guns, fine. Let’s get rid of these assault rifles.
@melissanoelle410 agreed and to add on to that; not everyone should own a gun just because they want one. There needs to be extensive psych evaluations performed and passed, restrictions on what types of guns, how many and how much ammo can be purchased at any given time. No one needs an assault rifle. Those are designed for the military to have in WAR. To be able to kill a group of ppl in one pull of the trigger. Active duty military are the only ppl who should have access to them, and maybe border patrol, the feds, etc. Homeland security ...no civilian needs a weapon that destructive since when has any average civilian needed to defend themselves against such a large group of ppl that a handgun or a revolver wouldn't suffice?? @jaredwhite489 yeah. In movies. On set. With no live round and no one gets injured because it's a prop gun. It's called acting; its pretend? You know; make believe? The blood is fake, the injuries are fake and the victim who takes a bullet never actually dies. That's totally fucking different than some psycho emo Gothic outcast turning 18 and buying assault rifles and ammo with every penny upwards of 7-800 bucks worth and shooting his grandmother over a cell phone and then proceeded to storm into an elementary school, walked into classrooms and opened fire like he's in the fucking trenches in WWI. So don't even try to suggest that the two are the same because you and everyone else knows they are not.
That being said; i personally can't stand Matthew and i found his speech to be choppy and melodramatic with words that are unclear due to his bizarre rhythm and inflections and I think he's a terrible actor who doesn't actually act at all, he's just his weird over the top Texas self but at least he's spending his time and energy and celebrity towards a worthy cause, so I applaud him for supporting the cause on behalf of these children and their families.
So touching. It felt like I was watching a movie. Tell me again why he has so many armed security people around him all the time? If so passionate why have so many guns around you? If I had armed security all the time, I wouldn’t need a gun ether.
