If the electrical power grid was placed underground along with sensitive infrastructure there would be much less damage done to it by electromagnetic induction.
But how would you place it underground? , it would be impossible to place all of the earths electrical system underground

In my housing estate so is the telephone, electricity AND cable TV.

2. Actually pay the full price for a Secure Electrical System that MIGHT be able to survive another Carrington?
There are no issues with the Water and Gas Systems being underground so why should the Communication and the Electrical Systems be any different?
@@anthonyshiels9273 Well, I wasn't alive during the Carrington Event. People today are having a hard time paying their electric bills so as it is. There is NO cheap way to bury all the transmission lines especially to replace overhead lines. PLUS the super high voltage lines generate tremendous amounts of heat and since science still hasn't found a cheap super conductor, makes it a much more difficult task. Underground high voltage wires degrade very quickly and would have to be replaced regularly, which would mean tearing p streets on a continual basis.
My worst fear is i will lose all music libraries, VST instruments and FL Studio projects

Don’t get worried, it will most likely miss. Also, the chance of it hitting is 5%. The worst that could happen is half of it hitting us which is a 0.56% chance of happening, and what would happen is, power would go out for 1 week and communication being down for a little while longer! So, don’t get too worried. Plus, you could play outside, or play UNO, or monopoly, etc. Also I just confirmed that we will be fine, because the magnetic field is maxed right now, there is also one good thing. The northern lights are more beautiful than ever, people down lower can even see them. BAD NEWS: Florida can see northern lights, which means, something big is coming. It could possibly be deadly! Watch out and keep safe everyone!

What's more worrying is that our magnetic field is weakening every year which is concerning.
Well, lucky for us, we are in the current Solar Maximum (until October), and a few flares already DID cause issues in January and a few days ago. Therefore, this video isn't really a "What if", but "when". Lucky us.

You ask a very good question that everybody seems to be missing. Most animal life (including humans) are based on electricity and electrical signals. There is a scenario, albeit with very low chance, where a combination of weaker Earth magnetic field and a strong solar storm can directly affect any animal. Ironically, trees will be fine!

Everybody thinks this kind of event will never happen...until it does. Be prepared PEOPLE!!! Build a Faraday box, stock up on food, water, medicine and medical supplies. Have wool blankets packed away so you'll have them should there be no heat. Hopefully you'll have a wood burning fireplace. Get your Ham Radio license and a ham radio. Know how to use it if there's no power. Just BE PREPARED.

If another carrington event happened and caused world wide outage in power and communication through wifi or towers. It wouldn’t necessarily be obsolete during that time bcuz the good old days where cable was used are still around. There’s cables in the ocean 🌊 that go across the Atlantic Ocean to Europe from North America. Only the military and world leaders in connecting continents with cables will be communicating with each other.
