    As someone 6'6, I've tried the Aeron C Remastered, Gesture, and Embody. The Embody was the clear winner to me. The Gesture seat depth, when extending it to max depth, still sucks. The sides of the seat on the Aeron bother me, and I'm not a fan of mesh backs to begin with. The Embody seat depth where it pulls out is sweet music to my legs. The back support is just better than the Aeron to me as well.

      Great to know! I've heard taller guys struggle with the Embody for not getting enough upper back support! Check out my video on the sneak peaks at the Embody headrest - should make the chair MUCH better. I got to play with it a little and it was freaking so comfortable

    Ur right about the Aeron. It solved my back issues also. But I can’t sit in the aeron long term especially if I’m doing something active like being on laptop or gaming. I find my butt sliding forward if I’m not consciously thinking about my posture. It’s good to lean back and let it “catch” me for few hours. If I sit straight up my butt just slides forward. I use it to “catch” me while I’m watching tv or sports game relaxing. I keep it on the side to keep my back healthy. I use the steelcase leap for my daily use

  • @kleinlui
    @kleinlui Před 2 lety

    Some points about the Neue from a 5'10" guy with a bad back:
    The lumbar support is aggressive AF. It is not comfortable for long sessions at all, it feels like someone is holding a foot to your back. The area above the lumbar does not really get support, as the mesh is kind of loose there.
    The armrests are massive. You cannot set them to desk height without pushing yourself away from the desk. Moving them up also moves them forward, which worsens the issue. As the controls are integrated into the armrests (and the mounting system is non-standard), you can't even replace them or take them off.
    Butt mesh: there is a small sweet spot in which I feel comfortable, but I wish the seat pan was a bit longer. I added a wooden plate below it and squished some cut foam in there to make it more comfortable, but it still does not feel like the pressure is distributed evenly.
    Probably fine for as a casual office chair, but I wouldn't use it for longer than 8h a day. At least it's better than my previous DX Racer1 haha
    Where can I buy core workout motivation?

    • @Ahnestly
      @Ahnestly  Před 2 lety

      Try to reduce the lumbar (you can push it in or "deflate" it). I thought when you extend it out, it was really really aggressive. Also, core workout motivation = find a partner to be intimate with...and be intimate a lot... :-D

  • @jareddrake619
    @jareddrake619 Před 2 lety +2

    Note on the Hyken... If you're over 225lbs or so or just wider than most, it'll feel a little too narrow for you and when the Mesh sags the plastic digs into your thighs... That being said, I'm over 225lbs and used a Hyken for over 4 years with minimal complaints (bought it when they were $90 lol) replaced it recently because with time and significant use the Mesh was sagging too much... But will emphasize, 4 years as a fat dudes daily driver chair... Got more than my monies worth even if I had paid $200

    I bought the secretlab titan evo 2022 small after watching your previous reviews lol, Anyway I can agree that the seat depth is a bit too long [ 5'3, 120 lbs ], but my solution [aside from being an ergonomics rebel haha] is to tilt-lock the seat a couple of degrees back, and then set the recline to almost or less than 90 degrees upright depending so that im pushed a bit forward by the backrest. i then adjusted the lumbar/pillow as needed. its been a go-to comfort position of mine, especially when i am working.
    ++ sidenote, sadly would have bought the the Neue but it is not available in my country. Shipping / international fees if i did buy one would make it almost as expensive as a Herman Miller but with that said I have 0 regrets on my chair, it is a dream, especially compared to my old one :D

    Hey! Hopefully you catch with you this comment, Ahnestly!
    I find it pretty daunting to buy a proper Office Chair. I'm on the bigger side, with both being big and tall, and therefore obviously got restrictions of what to purchase.
    Don't take this as anything personal, but it near frustrates me that no chair-reviewer, or retailer even mentions the seat-width. And where different sites "sometimes" label is as "width", do they measure it as the width of the actual seat, or from handrest to handrest? I take it that it usually would be labeled individually to seat-width and width.
    Again, don't view this as anything negative, Ahnestly. I just want to find the right chair, and with so many sources available, I thought this would be a rather short case with finding the right chair, but I was wrong.
    If you or someone here perhaps could toss me some reccomendations, here and now. Do you know of any chair who got a seat-depth of 23 inches, or more, and measure well with someone being 6 feet.
    Sorry if this was troublesome, but I would really appreciate any help here. This hunt for a chair is near driving me crazy.
    Best regards.

      @@Ahnestly Hey man! Good day or evening! Oh, right. I'll further venture there. Much thanks!
      Also, to further add to my previous comment. I have only come to find the Embody by Herman Miller to be over 22 inches, that being seat-width. Also I take it as that if a chair don't feature the handrests, the width, if even labeled, would be the seat-width, or perhaps the backseat width, though I find that to always be mentioned, but that is not always the same width as the seat itself. Yeah, this is not very straight forward haha.
      One last thing. I'm not too restricted on budget, with willing to spend 1200 USD on a chair at most. That's it. Thank you again, Ahnestly! Very much appreciated! Have a great rest of your day!

    The only feature I like about the Aeron is tilt forward and rocking No other chair on the market has that feature. We tend to lend forward when we really focus and that causes hunchback and turtle neck. The Aeron tilt forward function addresses just that issue for me. Otherwise, it's really a posture corrector kind of chair, not very comfortable. But if I sit correctly as the chair forces me to, my body feels great after 10 hours of sitting. The leap v2 lets me sit however I want, very comfy but it doesn't help my posture.

    Hello again,
    Thanks for these advices but in all these videos that I watched from you I never had the advice about the durability in time (structural (like the foot of the chair, arms rests, ...) and the durability of the cushions.
    I'm looking for a durable, ergonomic chair, with lombar support, adaptable arms rests, headrest(optionnal), tilt function, ...
    The fact that is hard for me to get is that i'm a tall folk 1,84m (6,04 feet) with a 130 kg (287 lbs).
    My actual chair is an AKracing fabric chair that I have since 5 years. BUT it broke in the first year of usage. The foot in cast steel broke like hell. So since 4 years i'm using a personnal wooden box made with rafters to support the actual seat... yeah it's pretty ghetto and I can give you a picture if you want (and you can use it, just tell me if you want it)
    But I have enough ! My back hurt like i'm dying everyday so i'm gonna invest in a good chair. I want a really durable chair because i won't invest in it for years.
    So two main caracteristics :
    - Heavy lifter (durable for 130 Kg)
    - Ergonomic (i'm using it 14 Hours/day)
    - Arms rest (3d/4d)
    - Headrest (optional)
    - Lombar support (stiff if possible or comfort)
    - Durable cushions (or replaceable) bc i think meshes are not designed for heavy lifting
    - Height ajustement
    - Tilting ajustement
    - tension ajustement (optional)
    Secondary caracteristics :
    - Replaceable parts (if not really durable for my weight)
    - For broader shoulders and wide tighs
    To summarize, the soviet era chair of ergonomy and comfort 😅
    Since you have amazing rhetoric, i'm sub now ! Your speechs are wondefull even for an non native english speaker. A little hi from Belgium !
