- I hope that you will enjoy this video of a ride to the OVM (Oregon Vintage Motorcyclists) annual picnic and motorcycle show at Oaks Park in Portland Oregon on the Willamette river.
It's one of my favorite events of the year. I love how relaxed and informal it is and the fact that most guys ride their bikes to the event. It's always great to hear and see the bikes arrive

Thank you Mike for your continued commitment to entertaining me on Sunday morning. I can only imagine the time and expense to deliver such quality content on a weekly basis. I appreciate you and your passion for the hobby! 🌞🇬🇧🏍
Many thanks Mick and all! I really appreciate it. It's my pleasure and is becoming a second full-time job 😉 best wishes, Mike
The D1 Bantam brings back a lot of memories. Bbbrrrrmm, ding, ding, ding, ding. Brilliant.
Waaaw! These old bikes. It is as 1977 me and my friends went to the races here in holland and spent more time at the parking as at the race.
Thanks Mike for walking us through this great show. I almost felt like I was there. Great to see George’s Diana, such a pretty machine.
Thanks Bruce. I’m glad you enjoyed the video. Yes, George’s Diana turned out great and it goes really well on the road. Cheers, Mike
much respect to all the riders and their families.
What a collection of wonderful bikes! And the setting for the picnic? Beautiful! Thanks Mike.
Thank you Paula! I hope all is well. Best wishes
Thanks as always Mike, enjoyed the different camera angles from your bike. Ray 🇬🇧
Spectacular morning!!! Thanx for capturing my Panhead!! But that 1970 yellow Norton though,♥️♥️♥️
-Pod- 🏍🤙🍻
Thanks a lot, I’m glad that I caught you leaving. Your bike looked and sounded great. See you again sometime. Cheers, Mike
Always good to hear those "classic British twins", thanks Mike!
Hi John, thanks for your note. I’m glad you enjoyed the video. Best wishes, Mike
Great turnout of bikes Mike and nice to see the beemers out in force 😉.
Good show, plenty of different bikes to make it interesting, love the D1.
Thanks Frank, yes it was a really good show this year. More than last year I believe. Best wishes, Mike
Fabulous day out. Thanks for posting these wonderful machines.
Another thoroughly enjoyed video, thanks for sharing 👍 🏴
Thanks Mike for another pleasurable Sunday at moto church!
Enjoyed the video Mike. Bikes all looked and sounds great. Ride safe!
Great display by the OVM with such a varied display of quality machines! 👍
Thanks again as always Mike for sharing.
Many thanks George. I’m glad you enjoyed the video. Yes it was a really fun event this year. Best wishes, Mike
Mike, exelent your Triumph. 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩👍👍👍👍 saludos desde Mexico.
Hola and thank you very much for your kind note. Best wishes, Mike
@@TheMightyGarage 👍👍👍👍
Thanks Mike, lovely to see all those great bikes
My pleasure Kevin. Yes, that's one of my favorite local events of the year. I really enjoy the Oaks Park event has almost all the guys ride their bikes to the picnic. I always enjoy watching and hearing the bikes arrive and then catching up with some folks that we haven't seen for a while. Best wishes, Mike
Great get together, some amazing bikes 🏍
Have a good week Mike 👍🏻
That looked like a terrific day out, so many gorgeous bikes, especially the brits 🇬🇧
Nice array of bikes! A lot of BMW's. Knew it was Ducati before it was in picture with the sound of that dry clutch. Looked like a nice day.
Love the way our pre-units "walk" when revved on the stand. Even when idling, sometimes! 👌
Great collection of motorcycles, good turnout....
Thanks for your note. I’m glad you enjoyed the video. Cheers
Great video 😊 thanks Mike 🇬🇧👍
Thanks a lot Mike, soooo in love of your Tiger 🐅🐯
Nice dog in the sidecar! Lots of BMW’s as you said, my friend had the same colour All red R100S featured at @ 17.15 bought new, later he did some production racing on it painted in Motorsport white with various trick parts. I bought the bike from him when he went onto faster bikes. I don’t have that bike now but I do have an R nineT Racer which I bought partly in homage to that old bike 🇬🇧
Great video, a pleasure to watch indeed - my favourite bike must be the little Ducati Diana - I would love to see more of that little beauty . . .
Thanks a lot! Yes, George's bike is amazing. Here's a playlist containing a few more clips of his Diana. Best wishes, Mike czcams.com/play/PLgDzKiI-i6nY8rpbTk73jBoddP8f0e52V.html
@@TheMightyGarage . . . Thanks Mike - much appreciated 👍
So many great bikes! Looks like plenty of content for future cul-de-sac visits 😉
Yes definitely! I've made a few contacts and have a few ideas in the works. Best wishes, Mike
Great relaxing video - cheers Mike
Heaven!!!
Hi Phil, I’m glad you enjoyed the video. Cheers, Mike
Great vid Mike. Props to RE that 650 Inty fits right in with old Brit bikes.....and a Border Collie in a side car.
Great Mike 👍. Isn't it funny the competition with older machinery to see who's bike can idle best 😉
Ha ha, yes, I know what you mean 😉 it’s like a badge of honor😀😀
Coffee & and a breakfast meet up .. 👍 .. 🏍
Great to see the Tiger 110 on the road Mike, still sounds awesome & looks fantastic.
BSB at Thruxton just down the road from me today, armchair viewing I'm afraid .. 😉
I don't miss walking about in leathers in hot weather .. 😉 .. 😂 .. 👍
atvb have a great week, regards to all .. t
Thanks for sharing Mike, great vid and beautiful bikes. Greetings Erwin. 👍
Hi Erwin, thanks very much. Glad you enjoyed the video of these cool bikes. Best wishes, Mike
Simply marvellous 👍🏻
As I commented earlier, thanks for this great video. I have to say, for all the vintage shows I've seen, I never see a Royal Enfield 750 Interceptor. They weren't big sellers, of course, and their engineering left something to be desired compared to most of their contemporaries. However, they were such beautiful bikes, and fast, too. It would be brilliant to have one show up at the cul de sac.
Beautiful day for a get together, Mike. Surprisingly no Laverda or Benelli’s in your mob. Were they ever sold in the US back on the 70/80s?
There’s an occasional Laverda that’s shown up at this event. But Benellis are very rare here.
When you get old , you have to adjust your mind as to what years “ vintage “ entails!
Especially if they were new when you bought them!😀
😉 so true! I was looking at some of those bikes and wondering why the guys were riding their new bikes to the show, only to realize that there are no vintage! Cheers, Mike
Use to go to Oaks Park for the Scandinavian Day. Family lived 20 miles west of Forest Grove. Would be nice to see those vintage motorcycles.
Thank you very much for your note, Art. Glad you enjoyed the video. It's a great place for the annual show/picnic. I always enjoy going there to see and hear the sounds of the old bikes and the background noise from the amusement park. Best wishes, Mike
...and I'd like one of those, and three of those, one of the Beemer brutes.
😉😉👍👍 there were so many to choose from! Glad you enjoyed the video Daniel. Cheers, Mike
Great video Mike
Another enjoyable episode, thanks for posting. That 250 Ducati looks an absolute stunner . A bit surprised by the lack of Tridents and R3s are they not a popular choice for a classic .
thanks for the temp conversion , we have a heat wave in n.i. 28 c , biking in 38 c black leather and full face helmet it must be powerful .
Nice collection of bikes👌
Great showing of bikes there. Would love to see an ep on that Eldorado and original Bantam
Hi Phil. Stay tuned! I working on it. Best wishes, Mike
All motorcycle very nice!! No Laverda, or Benelli sei and Moto Morini?? Thank you Mike! George from hungary
I watched a couple of other bike-shows by different channels before this , your Camera-work is superb in comparison Mike . Some are like being on a boat in rough-seas and almost unwatchable (is that a word ?) Another great presentation of interesting people and superb bikes . Dave NZ
Thank you very much, Dave, I really appreciate it. I try very hard to keep a steady hand whenever I can, and try and use a tripod as much as possible in the garage on projects. Thanks for your notes, I enjoyed reading them. Yes, the Oaks Park event is probably one of my favorites. It's not stuffy, and there is no competition or judging (literally!). It's a great gathering where most of the guys ride their bikes to the event. Best wishes, Mike.
Great turn out and such a wide spread of makes , crackin ..thanks for posting this cheers ;{>
I think I spotted a speck of dirt on the right hand side (inside) of your left muffler... 😉
🤣😳 saw someone wearing a Ghost Motors T-shirt 😳
Port Washington, Long Island New York. Where I bought my first motorcycle, 1971 Commando.
Very nice. We need a chat and walk around Rick’s modded Commando some time.
Thanks a lot Steve. Can you let me have a timestamp from the video as I might have a video. Cheers, Mike
@@TheMightyGarage Sorry, Rich ‘not’ Rick. It’s 6.23 when he turns up with his son on the little Triumph that he dwarfs 🙂
@@hollowaysteve Ah thanks Steve, I know who you mean now. Sorry, I don't have a video of either of those bikes, but that's a great idea! I will add them to the list 👍 Thanks a lot. Cheers, Mike
Argh, I didn't know about this and I'm in Beaverton. Next year!
Do you know about the Corvallis show in the spring?
@@swooshdave Yes, but I've never attended that one. Not sure if my '62 Sportster would make it there and back 🙂
@@priceamp It should make it just fine. Now if you can make it that far on a Sportster is a different issue. 😜
That Cagiva Elefant is a running experiment in negletion and deterioration with her open belt drives where dust and grime gets in? 😄
eh, The Rusty Elefant thrives on the grease and grime, it is it's lifeblood. you should see the rest of the fleet...
11:38 My fellow purists, no matter how much its proponents attempt to gaslight its virtues, that sound is proof that a 270° crank is just a pretender.
Hee hee, it certainly is a different sound, isn’t it. Cheers, Mike
Great video Mike, great turn out, got a question , do the Scooter clubs not bother joining in or are they not asked ?
Hi Darrin, everyone is most welcome, but I don’t think that we know of any scooter clubs. I’ve seen a few guys on the road, but don’t know if they have a local club. They would be most welcome. Cheers, Mike
How are the brakes of this old bikes? Especially the front brakes? I have a bmw r60/5 with drumbrakes but the brakes of my bmw k1300s are much better. Is it not dangerous with the old brakes. On the other hand: 1977 i had a suzuki T350 with drumbrakes and this was a good bike.
Just found this site! It would appear my 1975 Kawasaki Z-1 would have fit right in here somewhere?
Yes for sure! All classics are most welcome. Best wishes, Mike
Shall i sent you some pics from my collection?
Mike a good friend of mine bought a new Triumph back in either 1966 or 67. I think it was a 350 CC and I believe it was called a Tiger 90?? I had never see one since and I am not sure of my facts. Could you shed some light on this??
You spent too much time on the Triumphs. Would have liked to take a closer look at the dukati single and some of the other rare bikes that you quickly breezed over.
Here’s a link to a playlist on the Ducati single and many other bikes that appeared in this video:

Thanks Mike for walking us through this great show. I almost felt like I was there. Great to see George’s Diana, such a pretty machine.
Thank you Bruce. I’m glad that you enjoyed the show. I’m not too familiar with the Japanese bikes, but it was great to see such a nice variety. Yes, George’s bike sounds and looks fantastic, doesn’t it. Cheers, Mike
