Nice looking truck, love these 90s GM trucks. I have 2 of them, 1 gas and the other a cab chassis truck with the 6.5. Don't get rid of her they are harder and harder to find. These trucks are much better than the new ones.

My 98 c3500hd 6.5 i got 4in straight exhaust dumped at rear axle. oil cooler lines, fluid dampr, super 54, solid crank pulley, vac pump delete, cai, 2.5 exhaust crossover, complete custom fuel system 1/2 fuel line from tank to injection pump, pre filter, fuel water separator, and final filter, air dog fuel pump, auto meter pyro, fuel pressure, trans temp, and boost gauges. Upgraded turbo oil drain. Lb7 fan. flowkooler water pump. Aluminum radiator. upgraded fan clutch. The works. Only thing left is internals and wouldnt mind putting marine injectors and beast pump. I also have tuned ecm from quadstar. Craziest sounding diesel. Sounds like a diesel in the front. the whistle and the old diesel rattle that new diesel don't have. Then sounds like a big block in the back when i mash on it lol

Replace that injection pump noise filter harness before it's a problem....I delete it on all my obd1 trucks but I believe you get a check engine light on OBD2. But it will bite you... It's the 2nd thing to fail next to fsm

I’ll be honest with you I didn’t , it was just a piece of mind kind of thing knowing I won’t snap the crank with everything I have done to it currently. That’s just my opinion and I also put a new crank pulley on it as well
How many different turbos have you experienced on a 6.5? Is the Super 60 your favorite?
theres no comparing , ive had a gm8 and a hx40 super 60 out performs both
If GM would have done a 3rd door on the 2500 and 3500 extended cabs that would have been sweet.
I agree !!! That would make me love the obs even more. I believe they did on the 1500s in 97. But not the heavier duties
@@Freddysimpsonn my understanding was the engineers were afraid of frame twist in the 2500 and 3500 with a gooseneck hitch. My answer to that years ago was well they build four door trucks that have gooseneck hitches. A cab swap from a 1500 would solve that issue.

Nice truck but u need a real cold air intake boxed off and getting the air from out underneath the hood u will see a big diff instead of sucking in all the hot air from underneath the hood
I’ve had a k47 and there is literally no difference in temperatures , people can say there is but gauges don’t lie lol

Do you have a fass or spin on filter ? Crack the filter. If not then crack an injector

It’s a non-intercooled IDI turbo diesel, wouldn’t make an appreciable difference.
Exactly lol never got hot never over heated stock head bolts on a big turbo for over 3 years of abuse so

20 psi no head studs for 5 plus years
@@Freddysimpsonn Good to hear, I'm building a navistar 6.5 in the next few days, bought head studs, haven't bought a turbo yet nor do I have a tuned ecm. I want it to go but not destroy it. I'm guessing your ecm is tuned? I know you've probably stated that but I've only just found your channel.
