This track is epic. This is the scene where Z steps up from being a worker to a soldier, going against all odds by hopping onto the shoe rather than walk away to safety .
I absolutely love this score! That entire shoe scene was fantastic. Such a fun, family movie. My grown sons and I still refer to my wife as Princess Bala from time to time. :)
Even though the "Big Shoe" scene in Antz was scary at first, it got more amusing to watch with additional viewings of Antz. My dad and I got a laugh out of how Princess Bala was screaming during the scene like if it were a rollercoaster ride!
The shoe scene really scared me as a kid. Why? Because that shoe was ginormous and both Z and Bala were screaming so hard that it looked like they were on a pretty scary ride
Benjamin I. Alvarez It's a shame that it's underappreciated (even though the RT score is 96%). It should get a LOT more recognition, especially with it being DWA's FIRST FILM!!
Even more impressive considering it's the 2nd feature-length American CGI film, and it definitely paved the way for the writing-styles of other animated films, Dreamworks or not. You'd think more people would give it credit.
Izuku Midoriya: EVERYONE, GET OUTTA THE WAY *Bumblebee flying off* *Momo stuck on chewed gum on bottom of shoe* Momo Yaoyorozu: IZUKU HELP ME Izuku Midoriya: MOMO *Quickly grabs Momo's hand and holds on tightly* Momo Yaoyorozu: IZUKU... Please don't let me go Izuku! *Izuku losing grip of Momo's hand and drop on the blanket* Momo Yaoyorozu: GET ME OUTTA HERE! *Izuku running away from stepping shoe* *then gets engulfed by the wind from the shoe* *tumbles towards other shoe across* Izuku Midoriya: MOMO *Shoe with Momo in it steps off of blanket and into the grass* Izuku Midoriya: *Izuku looking in worry* Oh no, this is not good. *Gasp* *Turns around and encounters the left shoe stepping off of blanket* *rushes towards shoelace and climbs onto it* Izuku Midoriya: WOAH *climbing shoelace* WOAH... AH. *lands on top of left shoe* 1:04 *Momo screaming in fear* *Izuku watching oddly, then is being carried forward towards right shoe* *Izuku prepared to jump on right shoe at right shoe lifts in the air* Izuku Midoriya: WOOOOAAAAAH *jumps and lands on shoelace of right shoe* *then get send on chewed gum stuck next to Momo* Hello *Izuku and Momo screaming with shoe landing on grass and dirt* Momo Yaoyorozu: Izuku! Looks like this is the end. But before before we both die, I wanted to say that I actually thought you were really cute. *Izuku and Momo both screaming again as shoe lifts up in the air facing the sky* *Izuku and Momo vision blurred until they see giant bronze penny with someone's face on it* Izuku Midoriya: Who the hell is that? *penny peels chewed gum off shoe and get sent flying off towards fallen trash ben with Izuku and Momo still trapped in it*
This score sounds so epic. The big shoe is one of m favorite scenes from Antz.
Martin Guzman funny part.. she was screaming at the top of her lungs as she passed! I was rolling.
I laugh so hard during that scene. It sounded like someone on a scary rollercoaster or thrill ride.

Why is it that all movies about ants have such uplifting and epic soundtracks!? This and ABL’s soundtracks are so inspiring and cool!
To compensate for the character’s size?
@@TheDarkOne9942 probably yea :)

Most amazing part of the Antz Soundtrack!
The shoe scene really scared me as a kid. Why? Because that shoe was ginormous and both Z and Bala were screaming so hard that it looked like they were on a pretty scary ride
I love when Bala is screaming^^ it makes it all so much better^^
Pupensaren33 For me, I think it's also better to hear Z ask, "Who the hell is that?" at the end.

September 19th 1998. Today it's been 18 years that Antz made it's theatrical premiere at the Toronto international film festival.
19 years but soon it will be 20 years

Christian Hallenbeck instead they think 🅱️ee Movie is a classic
For me as a Japanese, it's associated with a Japanese variety show "お試しかっ!(Otameshikah!)", in whose segment "帰れま10 (Kaerema-TEN)" this music is used.
Is it wrong I prefer this score over a bugs life, like it's just so epic 🤩
1:04: Screaming Bala FTW
Person who played Princess Bella was very close to that microphone scream at the top of her lungs out FTW
John Powell Isolated Score The Big Shoe 👟 (Unused Music)
this music is more epicness than every marvel movie
Parts of this sounds like its also on Pirates of the Caribbean, trying to figure out which one it is. Its driving me nuts!

Jack Sparrow Antz was the third actually. We don’t speak of the third.
Sounds like How To Train Your Dragon music.
Same composer, John Powell.
Believe it or not, a Dreamworks track was played in another Dreamworks movie, "Sinbad: Legend of the Seven Seas."

Though I like A Bug's Life better than Antz, this movie's soundtrack really takes the cake.
