  • Alina flys with a beehive of other light planes and gyrocopters. Some of the faster aircraft pass her in the pattern.

    Alina is mature beyond her years and a 'natural' pilot. When I have time im running your flights on my 2 monitors one your 'live' cam and the other the air nav map to follow your route. Theres so much beautiful scenery around there. Have a great flight. 👍

    Really amazing day to fly, conditions look good. Unfortunately here in the UK we are heavily regulated, the aviation authority won't allow unlicensed flight. So we are missing out on the amazing experience you have with the Aerolite. This video shows what a fantastic view you must have. Also good to see your checklists put to use.

    SO impressed with both Alina and her Dad. I loved using the "look around" tool in some of your videos, and wonder why you're not using it anymore. It was so much fun flying with her while being able to control the view. PuhLEEZE bring it back!! You spoiled me, and I'm not having as much fun with you looking at only one view aspect.

    Mr Scott, I was wondering what info she has on her sleeves? Never flown an Ultralight, so the info would probably be a little different. Bummer that you can only have 5 gal of fuel, how much reserve does she need to land with? Also how high has she gone up to so far? Can they see her on Radar, have they ever asked her to ident?

    • @williamh.scottv438
      @williamh.scottv438  Před měsícem +5

      1) those are quarterback play sleeves. On her left arm is airport information including frequencies, runways pattern directions. On her right arm are her pre-fight checklists for engine start checklists and her emergency checklists
      2) she typically flies 1,000 ft AGL but as high as 2,000 and as low as 500.
      3) she has landed at several class d airports. However, she has never needed to ident since she has no transponder.

    • @roberthildinger4511
      @roberthildinger4511 Před měsícem +2

      @@williamh.scottv438 Yea, I know she has no transponder 😒, was more curious if they can get a reflection on their radar so they can at least see her and offer some separation. Too bad there is not some small transponder that can give them a reading and she could get flight following. I would be a little concerned about not being seen. Since I had an aircraft come directly at me from out of a cloud bank I have been a BIG fan of flight following. She does a great job of keeping her head moving and watching out for traffic.

      @@williamh.scottv438 Awesome she has had Class D airspace experience already, that takes a little more radio skill and aviation knowledge, they should have a patch for your 1st Class D landing (LOL).

      @@williamh.scottv438 As someone with no interest in football but a huge interest in aviation, I love that you repurposed quarterback play sleeves for airplane use. Great idea! A kneeboard wouldn't work in an ultralight due to the air, so using play sleeves is great.

    • @williamh.scottv438

    • @williamh.scottv438
      @williamh.scottv438  Před měsícem +1

      2 strokes are just as reliable as 4 strokes. They require more attention in their operation.

      @@williamh.scottv438 Is there an overhaul schedule on this (and other) engines for the Aerolite?

    • @totallyjonesin
      @totallyjonesin Před měsícem +1

      @@williamh.scottv438 I agree I've had a lot of snow machines. 4 strokes are also heavier. A lot fewer parts too on the 2strokes. I liked the fours because I was a mechanic and thats 90% of what I worked on. I went to fours for all my dirt bikes. The four stroke sleds I have ran were so smooth and quiet and used a lot less fuel. I get that there's a big difference between sleds and planes.
