How to Play - German Timpani Grip

In this short series we're going to look at a few of the most common grips and styles that drummers use. If you've never given any thought before to how you hold your sticks as you drum, you may still find that what you do is almost if not exactly the same as one of the styles we're going to be looking at - they're all very natural, but they all suit different people. The German Timpani grip is perhaps the most common starting point for drummers, so we'll kick off with this highly popular style.
