    Around 3 Minutes when that snare is popping on the bluesy track, its absolute night and day how much better the Anada is. The snare sounds so much more realistic and there is much more space in the music. Insane difference.

    About 15Hz more bass on the Ananda, cleaner, more articulate mid-bass, midrange and more expansive imaging on the Sudana. It depends on priorities and the music you listen to.

    I wanted to buy Sundara but after listening to this I like Ananda better. It sounds fuller with great bass. Sundara is little thin in comparison

      @M de Boer Susvara is ten times the cost of Ananda whereas Ananda is only twice the cost of Sundara. Someone saving up for Sundara can stretch their budget to Ananda but stretching it till Susvara is too much.

    The sub bass is deeper on the Ananda than on the Sundara. But for $ 1k, is it worth it?!?
    This represents, what, 10% more in terms of sound for 3x the price. For me, it's not worth it.
    Moreover, having tried them both, the shape of the Sundara is more comfortable on the ear. The Sundara is a much better buy and allows you to put more money on a source that will make more difference and let more money for better encodings.
    The Sundara should be the # 1 recommended headphones for everyone!

    Thank you so much for the demo, clearly the bass impact is very nice on Ananda. When you review the Ananda please try to draw some comparisons with Edition X V2 if possible. I am planning for an upgrade from HE560 and eyeing Ananda & Edition X V2

    • @Ch3sT3R888
      @Ch3sT3R888 Před 5 lety +2

      Balaji Ramachari i upgraded from the he560, ananda has bigger soundstage, better mids but less bass impact than the edition x2 and also slightly brighter highs but still a rolled off treble. As for the he560 and ananda its just totally worth the upgrade in everyway.

    I don't know how well the seal was with this comparison but relatively Sundara has a bit scooped mids and no sub bass compared to Ananda but i feel like Sundara seal wasn't good. Ananda opens up the Sundara and gives a nice sub bass. I don't know is it fair to judge from a demo but Ananda timbre, tonality seems more correct. Sundara slam is nice but doesn't have depth and air of sub bass.

  • @erickruse4679
    @erickruse4679 Před 5 lety +14

    Sounds like the Ananda has better treble and bass extension, which to me, gives it a soundstage. In comparison, the Sundara sounds like you are listening through the end of a tube. The bass on the Ananda though, seems to bloom a little bit more than what is probably realistic. I think it loses a little control in that area. My first thought was, I wonder if I can EQ a slight V into the Sundara to get a superior sound to either one of them.

    • @erickruse4679
      @erickruse4679 Před 5 lety +2

      Ok, after I wrote that I realized I had just listened on a pair of modded fostex that I know have issues with bass. Switched over to some very neutral higher end speakers, and I'll say I have the same opinion, except for the loss of control on the bass. that loss of control was totally on my end.

      Hi lol 1y later but i'm about to buy the Ananda for the exact same reason, i absolutly love the Sundara just always wished it has more sub bass as i mainly listen to rap songs. So if you still there can you confirm me that Ananda has more sub bass ? I'm not bass head though just wish to find a better Sundara with a bit more low end bass. Hope i'll find this with the Ananda maybe :)

      Yeah at least from this comparison, you start to loose out on micro details with the Sundara, and the Ananda seems to sound a bit more dynamic and has a bit more elevated lower midrange and bass in comparison. I think either one would be a good headphone in the price category

  • @whiteofsoul

    Ananda has a more vibrant instrument sound. The sound of sundara is anemic in comparison. Most likely due to the low frequency range.

  • @Mike-iw2vn
    @Mike-iw2vn Před 5 lety +1

    Different songs sounds different, I suspect volume-matching was remade with each song.
    First song: Sundara seems having more bass punch and more treble. Other songs: Ananda actually has more bass.
    What obvious is treble roughness
    in Sundara, and mids suckout (4:00)

    • @theosamma3a60
      @theosamma3a60 Před 5 lety +1

      Volume matching is done only prior to recording the music using a 1kHz test tone, after which all songs are recorded. So, the only editing that's done after the recording is to apply an EQ curve to compensate for the FR curve of the recording equipment.

      @killerra Před 5 lety +2

      Yeah same for me. I was having second thoughts but this helped show me I made the right decision. The Ananda is not $500 better. I bought the Sundara specifically for a more micro detail oriented, neutral sound sig, which the Ananda gets away from with its admittedly beautiful, full bodied sound.

    To me the bass seems further away and gets slightly further away as the frequency drops. There may be less bass overall but the Sundara's have more detail. Personally in this example I'd take the Sundara's.
    I'm listening to this with a set of Deva's with the bluemini, eq'd to
    Oratory1990's Harman curve for the Deva's and the bluemini. A lower tier setup perhaps but, the tires were balanced with the wheels mounted on the car.
    Thanks for posting this, if you ever get a chance to compare the Sundara's to the Arya's, I'd love to hear it. I'm hoping to hangup the Deva's for a set of Arya's.
