Since they are in a room full of people who haven't watched the show, they are spoiling quite a bit of it cause they know nobody cares lol. I enjoyed the Tokyo Ghoul anime but a lot of people say the manga was way better.
As noted in the preview of the video, or at the beginning of the panel, it was the last day of the con (Sunday) and he was "con loopy" at that point. So imagine you are tired (especially operating in a professional like mode) and just wanted to have some fun.

It needs to remade similar to Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood. Follow the Manga, don’t rush, and tell the whole story. I’d love that personally.
