    Back in the day there wasn’t any schools that taught or trained people to be nurses, doctors , etc. people who had an idea in terms of treating people were picked due to also barbers knowing how to use scissors and razors

    I know that the red in the pole represents blood. I've heard of this and that's all i can recall. Thanks for remembering this again
    Edit : your animation may not be the best detailed, or most fluid. But they are very nice to explain historic events which are very boring if told in a story telling method
