Having a cast-on comb is very helpful but these are not around much, however Superba combs are the same 5mm size. Easiest single bed cast-on is to have every other needle out and the comb placed in -between and against the bed with the teeth between the needles. Simply move the threaded carriage across knitting. Release the comb and add the weights. Then bring out the other needles and continue knitting. Good if starting with waste yarn or for gathered edge.

Thank you very much for this advice. I am keeping an eye out for a metal cast-on comb on my local online exchange site. It will be very hard to find one, but I am not losing hope. In the meantime, I'll experiment with using the 3D-printed one and see if it will do the job. Your guidance is much appreciated!

Gracias por tus comentarios. Este método solo se utiliza al principio de tejer. Es una versión simplificada para empezar a tejer una tela de una sola cama en una de las camas de la máquina. El hilo rojo se puede atar debajo de la máquina y se le puede añadir peso para tirar del tejido hacia abajo. También se puede utilizar para reunir el extremo del tejido al terminar. Idealmente, es mejor usar el mismo color de hilo que el tejido principal. Yo utilicé hilo rojo simplemente para que fuera más visible en el video. Hay otra manera de empezar a tejer usando solo una de las camas de la máquina, donde puedes tirar del extremo del hilo y el tejido se reunirá, pero es más difícil de hacer para los principiantes.
