Love to see Twist in the Myth appreciation. It's such a fun album with a sort of weird corrupted feel that makes it very interesting to listen to. Shame so many people misunderstand it.

One of my all-time favorite bands. I like their middle period best. My top five are:
    -Nightfall
    -Imaginations
    -Somewhere
    -Twist
    -Opera

Hey man great ranking! I’ve been meaning to add blind guarding to my ranking list too! One of the bigger power metal bands that I’ve only heard a small chunk of - so that should be fun!
Also since you’re a mad power metal fan, surely that means that you’re a fan of Rhapsody fan? A ranking of them would be awesome to watch! 🤘🏻🔥

Thanks so much! And since I’m still relatively new to metal I haven’t done a deep dive through most bands, but Rhapsody is definitely high on my bucket list

Italy is a master of symphonic metal ! Unfortunately, however, with the departure of Turilli on guitar and Lione on vocals, the group got a little lost and if you really have to leave I recommend you start with Symphony of Enchanted Lands

@@ZBilbs I've been listening to metal for 30 years and have a collection of 2.500 CDs and LPs. It's clear that you're young and still not very mature when it comes to listening to metal, especially from the ranking you've drawn up of BG, but tastes aren't up for debate and current fashions are different from 20 or 30 years ago.

    They quite a decent band

if by a fairly decent band you mean that they evolved the power metal of Helloween and with their unique style they paved the way for myriads of other groups that tried to clone them without success and that had in their lineup one of the best power drummers on the European scene ...then yes they are a pretty decent group

I turned the video off at 7:00. Imaginations at 7… ridiculous.

There's no point in being born in the 80s leads to loving another type of musical style. not that blind guardians don't know how to use orchestrations but in recent years their creative streak has faded, I can't stand Nightfall in Middle Earth, let alone post-2000 productions. Twist in the Myth is unlistenable, pompous and redundant, not to mention Beyond the red mirror where the creative streak has been replaced by an excessive use of an orchestra. for me the 80s and 90s were the golden years of the Band with a sensational wall of sound
    My rank
    1. Somewhere far Beyond
    2. Tales from the Twilight world
    3. Immagination from the other side
    4. Follow the Blind
    5. Battaleos of fear
    6. Nightfall in The middle Earth
    7. The God machine
    8. A Night at the opera
    9. At the edge of time
    10. A twist in the myth
    11. ( holy shit) Beyond the red Mirror
the bards created deadly riffs at the beginning of their career, an incredible wall of sound which over time was dampened by the use of orchestrations, I repeat I like symphonic metal but I think the Bards gave their best with more compositions dry and speed metal than with Baufeld and his biteless productions and then Tome turns out to be the only true drummer of Blind Guardian with all due respect to Frederik
