  • Hi, in this video we take a look at how to remove and install the hydraulic rockshaft and lift arms on a John Deere 6520 which are being replaced due to worn splines, as well as removing and fitting cab fenders and fender extensions.

You should definitely do more videos on the 6520, I'm doing similar jobs but on a 6920s, I'm finding watching very interesting

Cheers Will, have a few more bits and pieces to do to it over the winter. Have you much to do to the 6920s?

@@farming_and_fixing not to much to do, it's generally in good condition I had to put a new radiator in last year and also did the rear wheel bearings and seals on the half shaft, could do with the rims and bonnet painting as the paint is flaking in places but not brave enough to tackle that yet

Nice. Once u start ripping...everything starts to come off. How detailed did u get with the spraying....sanding, rust protector and primer etc? I'm looking up videos here and you'd need a degree in spraying with the lengths they go to. My 2002 jd needs refreshing but I'm not going to be putting the price of another tractor into it. I have the gear..but ppl advise to get the pros $$$

Yeah I didn’t just go for a showroom finish either, if there was rust I sanded it back to the bare metal and gave the rest a light sanding. Couple coats of primer and a couple coats of paint.
