One of the most brutal endings in MMA fight ever. The choke, the way Lyoto fell down, the walkaway...
Picture perfect.
Lyoto looks small. Kind a middleweight. Even Strickland looks bigger.
@@azriladha most of them looked small compared to Jon, didn't they?
@@azriladha LHWs of that time were Middleweights all of them, except Jon.
@@yendevus1747not all. Phil Davis, Gustafsson, Rumble, Bader and Stephan Bonnar would be LHW sized today for example. Dudes were big. Surely there's others I can't recall right now. Rashad definitively would be a MW today though
Emmet vs Mitchell comes to mind but yeah amazing stuff here
The way Machida fell was terrifying. Still sends chills down my spine every time I see it.
Your spine was not broken!

Fighting a featherweight in comparison, while in PEDs isn’t a good look. Fake legacy 😂
@@goyasmind Uncle Chael said "I was more juiced than a Tropicana bottle" during their fight and he still couldn't handle Jon's power. Literally everyone is running PEDs, it's just Jon was a moron and didn't get away with it. And for the record I *despise* Jon Jones, but using PEDs is a weak argument. His legacy is ruined by being a colossal sh*t stain on humanity, not PEDs.
@SatoshiShintoMe Yea I agree. At the time I didnt know, I was just a kid. I just know it still stands as perhaps the coldest choke in UFC history. And to see it happen to our boy Machida at the time was Unreal.
Most fear I've experienced watching a fight ending live. Looks like he killed him and just walks off as if he is leaving a supermarket. Coldest finish ever.
🐐 doing 🐐 things.
Fighting a featherweight in comparison, while on PEDs isn’t a good look. Fake legacy 😂
Stop it. Ngannou sending reem to the moon who confirmed nasa faked it was way scarier
@@goyasmind you realise they're all the same weight right, that's what weight divisions are for. Maybe you meant taller.

Even though Lyoto lost, he gave a great account of himself. I loved this fight. It has that old school feel
He’s one of my favorite fighters. One of the few I’ve seen bow with respect when he knocks out opponents. Respect
Crazy that this is probably ks considered old skool now, as its been over 13 years!
Truly one of the best versions of machida we’ve ever seen. Arguably one of the best rounds against Jon ever.

Deontay Wilder has got some but is a heavyweight division fighter😊
you should say that in front of him
Getting big calves is definitely harder for some than others. Some people have crazy calf muscle genetics. But jot me, I gotta train Them hella hard to get any growth.
@@todetelicjon jones doesn’t know you
All jokes aside when I was watching this fight I thought Machida was dead💀

Same lol! The way he fell
Must have never watched a choke out before in UFC yes people pass out
@@PinHeadThePopeOfHellBut not like this...
@@lightmyfire1892 yes they do I've been watching UFC since the first one. He was just standing up so when he collapsed it looked worse than it was. When you're choked unconscious your whole body goes out just like when you're dead every single time.
Jon was in his Randy Orton Legend Killer phase in his younger days. Straight up merking legend after legend. It was incredible to witness!
Yep beating up a bunch of old dudes. That’s why his “legacy” isn’t going to age as well as he thinks. People are already putting guys like Volk ahead of him even though Volk has losses, he has beaten the best of the best in their prime.
@@CoNiCuZn they were all in their early 30s which is prime mma age. Lol stop hating.

Age ≠ mileage. Casual.
So scary that a lot of people in this moment were checking if Lyoto was still alive. Crazy finish by Jones
How long does it take to choke someone to death..? Im scared to do it. Thus far i settled all my fighs with words, a tight grab or legkicks lol, never fought a good fighter though.. the legkick fight was funny, the dude had no idea what to do. He kept falling and i kept telling him to f*** off. I wonder if he limped after that, he flew off on his moped agreeing to f off
@@B3nkeii40 seconds
@ZZ-bq2lp it's actually 53- 65 seconds. Trust me, I know from experience.
@@lnvalidCredentialsso if i choke someone out dont go longer then 15-20 seconds so they dont die
Once Jones figured out Lyoto’s blitz - it was over. That right hand before the takedown was the beginning of the end. Absolutely brutal ending lol
Looked two weight classes above machida.
Machida debuted at Heavyweight until 8-0 & from 8-0 to 15-0 he was LHW & LHW Champ. He was obviously a weight bully at MW
Lyoto may be smaller size than jones at 6’1 . But he’s insanely skillful and speedy . Sometimes smaller size can give you advantage too especially speed and being explosive . Lyoto has to be of the best strikers in MMA history . Jones adjustment for the 2nd round was a masterclass . We can learn a lot from this fight
Speed is how small guys cope... It's doesn't work in long run.
They are in the same weight class wdym?
Rarely an advantage especially never in the bedroom

Not enough people are talking about Lyoto landing some seriously good shots against Jones. I guess the brutal choke kinda makes it that way.
Lyoto did really well considering he fought against Jones and nobody ever beat Jones
If jones stood with lyoto the whole fight, he was going to sleep
@@dyfox3856 if's buts maybe's. woulda coulda shoulda. all irrelevant.
I think lyoto got plenty of praise from the commentary. He didnt just lose that fight. He was outclassed over 80% of the time.

Love Lyoto, great era of fighters
Yep. These were the best days of the UFC imo. Almost everyone was juiced and fights were much more exciting
That finish and the way Jon just walked off. It was like he had just killed a man and didn't care. Jon wasn't even close to his peak yet and don't think he has ever reached it. So much potential.
Lyota Machida's confidence is top tier. Dude always came in like he had you figured out.
it’s crazy how this is Jon’s 4th fight in a span of 10 months.
9:31 I had to slow it down to 0.25 speed to even glimpse that superman punch that floored Machida 😮
The coldest and most badass submission finish ever
And a lot of people hate on Jones now days but that man fought all monsters and made it look easy
Because he was on performance enhancing drugs. That's how he managed to manhandle all these monsters
Oh yeah, his resume is UNBELIEVABLE, and he's still fighting and winning. No ones even close to Jon in terms of his career and being the GOAT. A lot of people hate on him though, so most won't be realistic about Jon. There may never be a career like that again, if there it will be a long time.

Even with all the controversy, whether you like it or not you have to admit that this man has the best resume of all time 💯
John's ability to change the strategy midfight is so accurate
9:52 cold asf 💀

The walk off. Fascinating
This was one of the best ufc card. Mir vs Big Nog, Tito vs Lil Nog etc
the discrepancy between the quality in their photos is the funniest part of this entire video honestly
Still one of the most interesting matchups ever
“Go check on Lyoto, get some fans” -Greg Jackson 😂
The Great .. Greg Jackson!
My favorite finish in UFC history
2:09 is pure mindgame strategy.
Jones KNEW lyoto was gonna counter. He knew. but he still kicked and had the block ready.
Beautiful.
One of the best finishes ever. Jones is a real killer
Jon made The Dragon wish to breathe Air instead of Fire 😂😂😂
I feel a Jon Jones v Stipe Miocic announcement is near
Too soon
It should be, I am waiting for it since long.
This fight was very Impressive for Jon. He was super young and green in the sport at this time. Machida was in his Prime. Jon stayed calm and was using his brain in this fight. Jons composure and ability to tap into his fight IQ during a fight is why he is the greatest. Most guys cant think straight in a battle. Not Jon. He is always thinking ahead.
Dammit the Old UFC Belt is Sooo Beautiful...To think Jones has 13 of the Old Ones...and 2 of the New one's Fuckin Crazy when you think about it....
His mansion here in Albuquerque has all the Belts in a room full of all his other achievements! ... my older brother is good friends with Jon 😁
1:41 So fast to bring his hand to his head. Literally last moment
That’s technique
One of the coldest chokes in MMA sports history.
Machida trying to catch his breath in choke made it even more terrifying
I miss Big John in the ring. Stalking around the background mean mugging everyone. Legend!
I've watched this fight more than 1000 times, this is the most satisfying moment in the ufc history for me
This is my GOAT of MMA, no one is even close 🐐🐐🐐
Still the best walk away ever, drop him like a rag doll😂
Dropped him like a Half-Life 2 ragdoll at the end.
9:31 That KO punch was almost too fast at 0.25x speed.
Jon Jones ultimate heel move at the end LMAO
lyoto is very humble and focused fighter. He is still a legend
UFC posting an old Jon jones fight~ ”Jon go make some fans!”
i LOVE the style trunks jones wears. Reminds me of old roman fighters
The first round Jon Jones lost in his career, also great adapting by him between rounds. This was a good fight between two great legendary fighters💪
Joe Rogan loves Jon Jones and his commentary it's amazing 😢❤
that ninja is raw
that left hand that dropped machida was so perfectly set up
Give us Aspinall vs Jones.
Jones is too scared. Blatantly ducking like he ducked Ngannou.

@@Slim-Clips well he's a lot smaller than Francis.... so he took his time.... why does Jones have to chase anyone?

This fight and the shogun fight made me a JBJ fan💯 dude was demolishing that division.
Coldest submission ever
Machida made a note that he never taps.. he is a warrior and he went out like one in this fight. Such a banger of a fight.
The speed of that left hook coming from Jon to intercept Machida's straight was insane. One of the most shocking endings that I've seen in MMA.
Machida is my all time favourite fighter and I loved how this was probably the best anyone has ever done in a round against Jones. But this really shows the levels above Jones is when he adjusted in the next round and ended it so brutally.
I think Lytos mistake was waiting too long to strike, he had many chances and just get in and attack.
Lmao ok
Both super great fighters. Thank you both...
It's like watching a WW vs LHW superfight😂
Machida was 6’1 he wasn’t a small dude
@@doyouunderstandthis And his reach is 74in while Jones reach is 85in. A massive 11in reach advantage😂 Not to mention about min 20 pounds weight advantage, that's clearly visible!
@@mohammedqadeer5966 jones has a massive reach advantage even against guys that are bigger than Lyoto. He literally has the longest reach in the ufc. Also the only thing that was noticeable was the height difference jones really didn’t start getting that big until a couple years ago
@mohammedqadeer5966 Machida walked at 225lbs during this period of time, Jones was maybe 230-235 at most.
The size difference was mostly reach but Jones reach even at HW is longer than most
I almost forgot how Joe would talk about Jones’ chicken legs every fight lol.
This fight is one of the MAIN reasons I fell in love with this awesome and violent sport!!
Bones best fight by far. That walk off is the coldest thing iv ever witnessed.
Joe calling Jon’s legs ‘almost comically thin’ 😂

Doesn't change the fact he has chopsticks for legs
@@AthelstansSuccessordoesn’t change the fact it’s genetical and better then big calves for kicking and can destroy legs and bodies
Machida fought like it was do or die in this one. Great effort.
Imagine Big John didn’t step in to take Jon off Machida it would of been the first UFC death by Strangulation
Only fighter that Jon Jones said he was afraid of 😂😅
1:41 just in case you question this mans Goat status!💪 Laser sharp! Effortless stuff stopping a power punch right in its tracks
After the choke John had that walk like he just got out the swimming pool 😂
Lyoto gave Jon a chance to be great, he should return the favor against Aspinall
Jon was the champion here
That was Rua that Jones won his belt against.
@Wessside213that Englishman would have little bones sideways if he swung the same way as jon does
Kyoto is my fav fighter of all time because of his karate background and all around good guy. With that said I thought he died that night
Legendary Fight 🤯🤯🤯🤯
Machida was not hydrated for this fight. He did not drink enough pee on the lead up.
Ultimate skill.
Stick hand out with 7 foot reach. 2:12
But it works.
I mean it's a guard used in Muay Thai to avoid the elbows that would come through a regular shell. Jon happens to have attributes that make it even more effective so yeah good on him for actually making the most out of it.
La forma en que Machida cayo al suelo totalmente dormido asusto bastante en ese momento

This fight was so good. Both fighters did their blitz kick punch punch. I like how bones put him to sleep. That was too cool of a move
The entire vibe changed when the fight went to the ground, it went from bouncing around and getting a few good strikes on each other, warming up, to Jon absolutely mudering Lyoto with his elbows and choking him out.
