- "Anxiety has been a teacher to me. It has caused me to learn there are only two basic states of being: dilated and contracted- and that every thought feeling and action led to one of those two states. Fear, anxiety, jealousy anger, greed all led to contraction. Joy, curiosity, observation, love, gratitude all led to dilation. I learned that if I was headed into a panic attack, I could hack my way into a dilated state by focusing very hard on a different feeling. I chose gratitude. It’s amazing how profound such a single thing can be if you feel it deeply enough. It’s a practice I still use today. I’m pleased to release this new song inspired by the transformative capability of a simple feeling."

Never in my life did I think that Jewels voice could even get better.. Her lyrics and vocals have always been out of this world but these last few years she has really come into the upper echelon of her own sound and vibe. Simply put (AMAZING)! I started to hear a shift and a much deeper sound and feeling in her lyrics and performances when I watched the video from "Who Will Save Your Soul" Live at Salmonfest 2017. I've had friends give me grief the last 20+ years for being a fan of Jewel and listening to her music but my argument has always been that when music touches your soul it's on another level. Her life philosophy is awesome would really like to sit down and write with her one day!

No one sings like her. Must be why I always come back to her music. I was a child when her first album came out, like 5 years old, and she was my first and only favorite musician of all time. She heavily influenced my character and personality traits through her poetic and philosophical nature. I just stopped listening when she began her country era, I'm not a country fan and I really didn't enjoy it as much as I do her early work.

Jewel, would you please come sing and play at the CanadaFest in our small town of Waterdown Ontario one summer? Its 4 days of music in the Waterdown Memorial Park to an audience of a few thousands people out on lawnchairs in front of a lovely stage. I think you could just show up and surprise everybody. Many country singers come. Its called the Waterdown Ribfest, but if you are a vegetarian, dont let that hold you back. Lots of people come that dont eat meat.
