Richard Hamilton teaches you how to move without the ball creates space to score instead of dribbling - Sport
Probably ran more miles on the court than anyone else in NBA history.
Art of moving W/O the ball is still not dead yet!! Keep it up RIP, Reggie passed the torch to you! Keep it up! People want to see dunks, crossovers, fancy dribbling moves a ala Kobe, a la Lebron, but this is more beautiful for me!! You learn ALOT from watching guys like this play...
Not only is Rip a great shooter, but he's the fastest and best conditioned athlete in the league. He always says something like, "If I'm tired, I know the guy guarding me is more tired..."
rip is underrated
Quickness is a skill a coach cannot teach his player. Rip is gifted!
Ironically, my two favorite basketball players have always been Reggie Miller and Richard Hamilton.
j dilla runnin
The pharcyde
detroit +video about runnin around the court, now thats a great choice of music hah
I am so happy Rip is doing such a great job with the Bulls and competing for a title again, he is my favorite NBA player and watching him play like he used to be is like amazing, he will be a big part of the Bulls success this year!! Go Rip!! You the man... I will always be a fan.
Chris Mayor oh how times have changed
if u wanna move without the ball like Rip Hamilton you have to be a great shooter and you must be adaptd to move without the ball and look for weak side open wide spaces and screens anbd you must be a good runner without getting tired
Seeing this guy having a fresh start and energized to compete for a title again puts a smile on my face. Go Rip go!
wow that chair drills is really good.
My favorite player as a kid was Reggie...Rip Hamilton is just like a mirror image of Reggie without the trash talking. lol.
I love this guys game so effortless but so effective.
such a simple concept and yet rip is one of the few players today who uses it effectively. i use this technique lot wen playing ball. now i just gotta work on make my open jumpers! lol
because 10 people wanted do crossovers and fadeaways with double teams on them
This was prob the most helpful bball fundIamentals vid
I've ever watched.
I'm not suprised with those 8 dislikes. They're clearly from Payton, Kobe, Malone, Shaq, Fisher, P-jax, kupchak and buss!! Especially Karl.. =)
Serdar Kurhan why would that be? They won 3 in a row that was the corniest shit that ive heard in my whole entire life you are dumb as fuck
+V Lone Kobe has 5 rings and holds a grudge against Jeremy Lin after he smoked him in one game. Shaq gets petty with Chuck every other day. These dudes are sensitive when it comes to this shit. Durant has 2 rings and made fake social media accounts to compliment himself. You're a dumbfuck who doesn't follow the NBA if you don't know even the top stars are sensitive.
+V Lone your name is fucking V Lone so I know for a fact your a hypebeast who watches the NBA for the cred and only watches highlights on CZcams lmaooooo
Definitely watching this because Rip is now playing for Chicago. You know I have to do my research.
Who is here because of Kobe's detail episode? Sad to not have known about this guy prior to seeing that
@09tdubbs It shouldn't necessarily matter where the screens are as long as you read your teammates to get you set up for that open shot. It could be anywhere on the court.
its so awesome watching new players learn from the pros, then applying it then become a great player because of it ;D...love Rip! ,,and Reggie too!! :D
You set your guy up by going slowly initially. You can see where your screen is going to come from. You slowly go up, make a jab towards the screen like you're going around it, and then make a swim move, and cut straight thru to the bucket. Make sure you're aware of where your screen is coming from, and where your passer is.
like he said, "its a lost art" definitely brings a tangible skill to the bulls that no other player can bring
well, not everyone is as fast as him, but to some degree, you can do what he is doing. For example, next time when you're playing a pick-up game or something, try to run hard around your teammates or have them set screens for you, catch the ball, rise up and shoot. You don't have to be very fast, just walk slow, lull your defender to sleep, and sprint. It takes some time to get used to, but about 80% of the time, you will get a good look. That's how I always play now, and it works for me.
this helpd me alot on moving without ball, rip and reggie.
WELCOME TO CHICAGO RIP!
some solid wise lessons!
Sweet moves RIP!
@conanbdetective reggie got lotsa tricks with this style of play, and rip is wise enough to recognize that and study reggie's moves
@slicknic46 The first song is Pharcyde - Running, a newer version over the same beat is Wiz Khalifa - Name on a cloud both good songs
Thanks you rip hamilton!
The name of the 3rd song is called, "Go" by Common
@markw117 Rip was released by the pistons and now the bulls are looking to sign him. Its a great upgrade at the 2guard. Our bigs know how to set some good screens and playing with rose he will get plenty of open looks. Watch out Miami.
That's why it's important to know how to manage your energy, but more important is continuing to build stamina.
this is a lot of hard work. maybe thats why everyone in the NBA just stands around. I swear only rip hamilton, and ray allen are the only players that do this
@montiel291 I can't wait. SG has been a weakness of the bulls sice MJ. He would be great addition for them.
@NerdyFerdy i've always tried playing like rip, but nobody sets screens in street ball so it gets too tiring just out running my man for a catch but only for him to catch up as i shoot
DANGEROUS... you know what he's going to do but cant stop it! He specializes at one thing and is a genius at team ball. DEEETROIT BAAASKET BAAALLL!!!
Thunder,Warriors, and Pistons are my top 3 fav teams. Rip got heart son
I'mma use this for 2k myplayer
him and kobe, best mid range ever, him and ray allen, best movers without the ball
kinda miss him in pistons but he will fit right in with the bulls thats a big plus for them
@NerdyFerdy well he does move a lot and unless your very fit in terms of stamina your gonna be sub within the first 5 mins... but love his game rip and ray should play together what a nightmare that would be for the defending team.
Ray Allen and Rip are the best at this and they're both from UCONN too!
Stephen curry watched this video
Why are there dislikes when he is teaching the biggest fundamental!
cant wait to see him on bulls! I wna see how he fits on bulls, although my guess is he's gna fit well, being a non-ball dominant player he is
Welp that went by fast
love this song
Hey has anyone heard the of 50 inch vertical leap program. I heard that you can jump really high with it. I'ma try it out.
this is like chapter 1 of a shooting guard bible. you shootin guards out there, study this cuz this is a bread and butter fundamental skill that needs to be practiced intensely. i don't ever see shootin guards moving around enough or moving correctly. alot of standing or jogging
this I would like get it in the games of basketball of my team
good edvice
Damn, Rip shoulda went to Chicago this past season. That woulda been a big addition. It'd be cool, for me anyways, to see him competing for a championship again.
@shootallday
Runnin' by The Pharcyde
@TheDezert he broke his nose real bad a while ago and he wears it to prevent more injury just like stodomire
@tokinblckgie He's coming to Chitown this season to play with the MVP.
Just from watching b-ball, whether it's rec or pros, most the times when teams are struggling it's from people without the ball not moving.
Rip is da man.
Richard Hamilton is good as fuck.
@jaranarm ok thanks
ya know, rip really isnt anything special by natural means (not especially athletic), but working so hard n always running around has made him one of NBA's toughest shooters to guard.
the first song is Fallen by Mya.... at least i think it is, the beat is different so it might be something else.
best mid range shooter next to kobe, best mover without the ball next to ray. probably the best conditioned player and hardest worker in the league.
I loved seeing the Miami Heat defenders slip and fall on the court while defending Hamilton. :-)
hey soulkitchen, do you *really* think opponent nba coaches haven't "decyphered" rip's movements on court?
im pretty sure carlos shows some post moves not moving without the ball as a post player.
can you do that in chicago
centers aren't usually the type of players to move w/out the ball cuz number one ya'll are suppose to score near the basket and two you usually aren't fast enough like RIP.
RIIIIIP HAMIILTOOOOON
i can count every single pixel on this video
@SkitzoMitzo richard is his real name rip is his nickname
rip is sickk man thts kinda how i play
i don't know if you play basketball or not (probably you do) but when going 1on1,offence is always a step ahead of the defence. an in nba there is no such thing as team defence and that is why players like lebron, kobe etc can't be stopped. to a lesser extent, rip gets open shots all the time;)
nice.
2nd to last and last song?
If Rip starts to shoot like he used to, the Bulls will be unstoppable !One of the greatest players ! A great players is a player that plays more smart than physical!
Korver, Ray, Reggie, Curry, Redick, Klay, and Rip.
rip is the best
I'm not a great ball-handler nor am I very good at creating my own shot so Rip's style of scoring is perfect for players like me. The only thing is that you won't get star status like Kobe or Wade because you're off the ball a lot and you have to move your ass like there's no tomorrow.
Rip hamilton is the best
whats the name of the last song?
what if thats not wer you set your screens? cuz thats not how our offense is
Don't forget he also got to play with Michael Jordan on the Wizards.
@JPR511 Nothing more demoralizing than stagnant offense. It's especially crappy when you're facing a team with more size and your guys don't move around.
The Game - Runnin'
Anybody know the name of the first track?
Runnin' by The Pharcyde
The Pharcyde - Runnin
Typically, as a 5, you aren't going to move w/o the ball as much as Rip. You should look to set screens all the time. Not just pick and roll or pick and pop (cause that's basic), set back screens (especially for wing players). Now, guys such as Ray Allen or Reggie Miller moves w/o the ball a lot. So as a 4 or 5, your job is to read where your shooter wants to go and read where his defender is (shooters, esp. Reggie loves to make a fade cut b/c their defender knows about the curl). Hope I helped.
Seems like it.
these are some great tips but you have to be well condition to run around like that
he's got skills but he needs to show moves that everyone can do. Rip is crazy fast and he can go forever. i think most people don't have the quicks for the moves he is showing.
fuck.... this really works for me
The top 3 Gods of NBA in the offball are Reggie, Rip, and Ray(Allen).
Yup the 3 R's of offball. If you master it, you won't need much of bulking up some muscles.
quien me traduce esto??? please in spanish
PLEASE! can anybody tell me if Rip Hamilton could be a Hall of fame¿? An T-Mac?
Young players should watch him
So they can get some tips.
:))
@JPR511 Hey Rick Melissa!
Fallin by Mya...
@JPR511 Ya point guards have to do all the work these days :(
this is WAY MORE USEFUL than kobe and lebron's signature moves.
@rapbasketball2 No to rip, maybe t-mac.
