Was anyone else taking notes? I would be totally prepared if there was a pop quiz lol. This entire video is sprinkled with a ton of little golden nuggets that pretty much anyone can apply to whatever space they are creating in. Plus you can see that this space actually functions with real world applications, and isn't the usual 'pristine pinterest sewing room' tour🙄 This was a lovely video to watch and thank you for sharing! ❤
Sewing "space"? I'd call it a Sewing Kingdom! Perfect for the sewing Queen! Sure wish I had one as large and organized as yours, Laura! Enjoy and thank you for sharing! 🌹
Hi Dori
Beautiful. Great job. I used the bedroom in my apt as a sewing room and I love it too. I dont have as much stuff as you, but as im old, it is still probably going to outlive me!😄
I always appreciate your practical adaptations, using found or re-purposed objects.
Hello how are you doing today ❤
Laura, thank you for sharing. After I lost my husband I moved by my kids to Portland, Oregon, no basements in this area. So I searched for a home with living room open to dining room , it’s my dream sewing studio. Since I have a separate kitchen open to family room I’m all set. I used PVC too! You shared many great ideas, thank you. You are my sewing angel!
I recently lost my husband and are readapting my home for me and the family room will be my new sewing space. Wonderful ideas to work from. Now to use them!
You put so much thought into each “station”-I watched in amazement. I am so happy for you. Thanks for sharing all your great solutions. I’m going to store the manuals on the side of my new sewing table like you did. 🌹And Your touches of red, black, and white in your dove gray room did not go unnoticed!
Hi, how are you doing my friend?
I absolutely love the organization. I am in the process of gutting the house next door and making it my new sewing studio. I will have to post updates as we go along.
Please don't replace the couch. Find someone to replace the springs or put boards under there. Your couch adds so much charm to your space.
Hi Rena
I love how you have a realistic sewing room instead of one that looks prettier than it functions. You have given me so many great ideas for my space. 💕
Congratulations you have a fantastic sewing room !
Now and than I have to see your Video to remember how to organice my space. It reminds me what is funcional and pretty. Thank you. Greetings from Vienna, Austria.
Dear Laura-thank You for this lesson in ergonomics. I was sewing all day last week and woke up with a shooting pain in my neck and was worried. I went down to my sewing area after your video and saw that my sewing machine is too high for my chair (I don’t have 90 degree angle with shoulders and elbows. I will be replacing my chair with an adjustable one and planning my sewing room changes with the principles you taught me.
Joyce, I have been having trouble with back and R leg. Wonder if chair too low or high, will check on that tomorrow. Thanks for info, and suggestion.
Best video of a sewing space I think I've seen ever. The ergonomics are important and you have alot of great ideas to achieve that. Your basement ceiling is so high, what a relief!
Thank you sharing the tour!!!
🍃🌸🍃 I love the idea of covering art canvas with flannel for slide in storage!🍃🌸🍃
I love that you used everything you already had and didn’t’ go for a “complete” makeover. And reusing and repurposing even the spools. 👍🏻💕
I learned so many lessons in organization and the tools to help us get there! Thank you Laura for a truly inspirational video :)
Hello how are you doing today ❤
Congratulations, Very nice space for creativity! . I’m looking forward to more videos.
I’m short too and find rubber tongs a great way to reach spools of thread that are out of reach.
Great organization in your new space! Well thought out.🤗
Hi, how are you doing my friend?
That is my dream room... Thank you for sharing
I am so glad that you have a room to call your own with all of your memories tucked inside. I am so jealous!
Hey, how are you doing my friend?
Hi! I absolutely love you!!! I wish we could be friends in person bc I began sewing at age 9 and feel a heart-connection with you and your passion. You are beautiful, graceful, loving, passionate about life and sewing, and interesting. I trust what you teach because you are so knowledgeable and yet humble, qualities not found in all teachers. Thanks so much for all you share, including this growth and the evolution...upgrades to your AMAZING spaces!!! Congratulations! You deserve it! Much love and appreciation!

Jinn A, may I join in too, I started sewing at age 8 on my grandmother's treadle machine. Wish I had kept sewing all those years. Only started sewing again since my granddaughter was born. I live in Monroe, LA., and desparately need a sewing buddy.
Hello how are you doing today ❤
Hi, how are you doing my friend?
@@lamorexris3941 we are not friends. I don’t know you .
@@walternicolas6927 I’m not here to talk to men. I’m married.
Covid has changed all that. Life does opennew chapters for us. Enjoy your sewing
In your happy sewing room!!!
What a fantastic sewing room, she said, as she dashed upstairs to hang up all her measuring tapes. 😘
LindaH-65 LOLOL Love you comment. Did you know that cloth or even plasticized tape measurers will stretch over time? Where once you had 3", it's now 3 1/8". No fun when you've mis-measured. Ask me how I know! Happy sewing!!
that is good to know, thank you
A retractable measuring tape is so handy! I hang all my non-retractable measuring tapes for decorative purposes only.
@@SewVeryEasy So, what did you do with the "former" sewing space" ???
This is absolutely gorgeous. I can see my own basement (which is finished) looking like this someday!
@@holiday-td6hx it was turned into a guest room and an office
This is one of the best sewing room videos I’ve seen. Such clever and unique ideas that are custom-designed for the user. You’re a true creative! Love your new space.
Absolutely amazing space! I'm taking inspiration from several of your ideas.
Hello, how are you doing my friend?
Beautiful sewing room. I have my Grandmother's old singer sewing machine with all of the original parts and paper work, it needs a belt. Such a treasure.
Hi Kim
98% of us that's so do not have the luxury of a beautiful workable large sewing area that you have but it was so nice to see it. There are many ideas of organization that you showed in your room that can be put to use in small rooms also. Your dream room is absolutely gorgeous. What a beautiful wonderful place to sew
BRILLIANT, absolutely GENIUS Design and Construction - I am sooo Happy for you - and I luuuove the uses of PVC pipe and thread spools - you are a Treasure, Laura! Thank you for sharing your Gonzo creative ideas and accomplishments. 👏🥰
Hi Bonnie
Can you please do a video on the sewing needle container and how to use the needle system thanks. Love your space.
That would be nice.
You are one beautiful woman! Thank you for sharing and providing lots of inspiration...like, me dashing to my craft room, unpackaging all my measuring tapes and stringin' 'em high to get the wrinkles out (I'll probably have to cover them with a thermal sheet and press with a very low temp iron).
I’m doing that right away also, hate to re roll tapes after use!
excellent tour, tips and that flannel covered 'tray'. Love it!
It's a lovely and functional space and I love the old machines - I learned on a treadle back in the early 50s that was my grandmother's. And I was given a 3-tier version of that sewing box that folds out, I think around 1962. It's been through several refurbishing rounds and I still use it today!
Hey, how are you doing my friend
Your space is awesome! I recently moved into my oldest daughter’s bedroom after she moved out. Not nearly as large as your space, but it allows me to keep my sewing machine out and easy to access. I find that I am doing much more sewing. Thanks for sharing.
Hello Kathy
How beautiful!
Most of my life since I've been married I've sewn from the dining room table clearing it only when company was coming.
Now that my daughters are married and our nest is empty I have a second bedroom I use. It's not very big but it's ok. We moved recently and I'm disabled so I'm still working on getting it organized but I have the furniture set up.
Thank you for the inspiration.
She’s a professional at presentations. A real natural. Quite enjoyable to watch, and useful.
Thanks for the tour and all the great ergonomic tips.
Your new space is absolutely amazing Laura. You did a magnificent job! Thank you so much for sharing it and your amazing talents with all of us.
Hi Sassy
I Love your sewing room I, Involved just watching you and listening to you. I hope to have a sewing room in my home soon. I appreciate how humble you are. Thanks!! 🥰🤩
Great video Laura! I loved the tour of your new sewing room. You have given us so many good and practical ideas. I love the story of the evolution and history of your sewing path. My father bought my mother a beautiful Singer sewing machine and cabinet when I was just a baby. That is 60+ years ago now. My sisters and I learned to sew on that faithful machine. I think each of us would like to inherit that machine one day. I purchased a White treadle sewing machine when I was visiting in Chicago for $35. The people were hapoy to get rid of it. I was thrilled with such a treasure. I hauled it in the bed of a pickup truck all the way to Alaska, so I could sew without electricity. I sewed lots of baby clothes for my daughter with that beautiful machine. Thank you for sharing your life and stories with us.
Oh, I am so envious! That is the most awesome room I have ever seen.
Hello how are you doing today ❤
Love the idea of using spools to raise your table tops! Brilliant!
Hello Sally
Fabulous Sewing room! Love it!!
Taking notes on all these great organizational ideas.
Oh, Laura, it’s wonderful! Your personality shines through in the organization. The thoughtfulness and intention behind every decision are clear. Thank you for sharing it with us via a tour. It’s a great work space. You definitely have worked hard to be able to have it just the way you want with room to grow. I hope you enjoy many years of creative endeavors in that space.
Christine, and willingness to share it with us. I have only been a subscriber a short while but have learned so much.
Hello, how are you doing my friend
So beautiful, very clever, organized and fun! I want to come play with you, Laura, at your house! ❤️
Me too, i'll bring a carrot cake.
Charles C may I come too, I will supply the wine, (whatever everyone cares to drink) crackers and spread/dip.
Thank you very much for showing us your sewing studio. Greeting from Argentina!
Wow!! Thank you for sharing. I have a great sewing room too! I have been sewing 5 years and I love what you have taught me! THANK YOU 😃
Hello how are you doing today ❤
WOW!! l love everything about your new space- you can really see all the thought and planning that went into your design! And your use of PVC and empty spools was genius!! 👍👌Now it’s time to enjoy your new room! Beautiful- thank you for sharing!!
Hi Irene
It looks great. I got a lot of ideas from you. Thank you. 😊🇨🇦
I would exchange the couch for a bed and live in there. What a fabulous space you have to craft in. You are so lucky in the States to have big rooms and basements. I’m very envious. You are extremely well organised. I can identify with your early sewing space days and we all progress from that. Lots of hints and tips, so tku for those.
Wow such a great sewing space you have. Very professionally done at the same time very relaxing environment. Good idea to use pvc pipes to raise the cabinets to suit your needs.
God bless and thank you for sharing your special place for us to enjoy
Thank you, Laura. Love your sewing space! Thank you for all the great hints and ideas. You are such a wealth of helpful information!
Hello Carol
Happy for you. It is a wonderful space!
Finally got my husband to watch this video with me. Now he sees what I have been missing and getting the visual has fired him up to work on the changes to my sewing space. Thankyou so much.
You can buy a belt for your treadle machine on eBay and they are not expensive. I know this because my husband restores Vintage sewing machines. He has 300 to 350 machines out in our barn. He has a few treadles, but mostly electric machines. Your sewing room is fantastic! I'll be making my sewing room over, hopefully this year. I share my sewing space with my husband's repair space up in our big barn. My area is about 25 feet by 15 feet. I plan to use a lot of your ideas in my area. Thank you so very much for showing us your space!
I'm so glad you got your space finally, just looking at this has sparked my ideas for my craft realm hopefully asap, thank you for sharing this with us.
As usual, you have great ideas that makes all of our lives much easier!
What a beautiful space you have Laura! Well worth waiting for and planned just for you! Absolutely love it! Cheers 🥂 to many happy sewing years!
Oh my…so many good options for sewing, cutting, ironing, quilting, designing and storage. You’re a woman after my own heart with no wasted space and intelligent use of any vertical surface. You figured out so many excellent solutions to make sewing and quilting enjoyable. The ergonomics are so important. I love how you adapted the old sewing box into a coffee table. I’ll be converting mine also. It’s a space saver for sure.
I'm so jealous. I wish I had a sewing room. Instead, I sew in my bedroom and it's such a pain to have to use my bed and put everything away when it's bedtime. So often I'm in the middle of a project and have to put it all away and then get it all out the next day. I need to win the lottery!
I love your new Sewing Studio! I have a large room in the basement that could be turned into a sewing room for me, but it would take a tremendous amount of money and work, to get it usable for that. Plus, there is no bathroom down there, nor coffee macine, he he. You are one lucky lady, to have such a beautiful and workable space, to sew in. I absolutely love the new space!
Wow, Laura, this video was worth the wait!!! What a beautiful space in which to create!!! You gave me a lot of ideas...including what to do with my old acrylic cutting mat...it will now go underneath my chair!!! Genius! Thank you for sharing, and Happy Sewing!!!
Hi, how are you doing my friend?
What an amazing space; thank you for sharing it with us!!!! As a vertically challenged person 🤣 there are tons of hidden gems in this video I will be implementing! Thank you Laura!

Brilliant! So many great ideas….thank you for sharing.😊
Great room. Thank you for the tour.
oh, it's hard to get good quality. I think I'd just have the couch reupholstered to suit ;-)
Oh my goodness, yes! I would love that beautiful couch.
Don't get rid of your couch just get it reupholstered I have one that's very old but I bought used and springs were gone in it I just put cardboard boxes under the cushion to kind of make it firmer and it works all right
Nah. Time to pass it on to someone else, or dump it.
Oh to have a room that big to start with. What a lovely workroom!
