Drafted in the 4th Round of 2014, Igor Shesterkin took his time before bringing his talents to the NHL's New York Rangers. But once he did, the impact was immediate. After two pandemic-shortened seasons, this was Shesterkin’s first full year in the league. Playing in 53 games, and allowing a meager 106 goals, Shesterkin proved to be every bit as talented as fellow countryman Andrei Vasilevskiy of Tampa Bay, the current gold standard in hockey netminding.
Shesterkin takes technical precision to a new level. He doesn’t flail and panic because he rarely needs to. Instead, he’s in the right place at the right moment, in almost every moment. He’s Rangers-quick going post-to-post, flexible to the point of absurdity, and capable of so many high stick saves that it must be intentional.
The future for Igor and his teammates is wide-open and promising. He’s just acclimated to the NHL and like the team in front of him, is only beginning to enter his prime. A Conn Smyth win in the near future seems at this point a fait accompli.

Excellent video! I really like how you show a big variety of scenarios so we can see how Igor deals with each one, rather than just the desperation saves that go in 95% of the time. The desperation saves are more exciting, but these clips are much more educational for people looking to analyze the best goaltenders in the world and learn from them.

igor is on the path to having a shot at being one of the best goalies of all time. winning a vezina by 26, that was his first full year with a playoff caliber team and he carried them far beyond their worth. he's in his prime but definitely will get better. hoping the team can prevail in front of him and win a cup

Мне кажется главный "скилл" вратарей, это - бесстрашие! Отбивать пахом шайбу, пусть и с защитой, это же ужасно мать вашу! Уже потом реакция и т.д. Уважение, я не побоюсь этого слова - мужикам)

The cup is huge and steel under a smoith foam outer skin. I had teammates try to hitmycup in practice. A couple of times they were successful. It didn't hurt.

Good question. A limited number of goals were included for a few reasons.
1. Balance. I think you'll find that his save percentage is accurately reflected in the video.
2. If the result of every play is known in advance, there's no suspense.
3. I think it's interesting to see what kind of shots are getting past him. This series is about getting an entire picture of the players (hence, 'complete'). I'll leave hagiography for others who are much better at it.

It's a joke they picked that purse wearing clown Matthews over Igor for Hart Trophy . This year really shows the difference on whos more valuable for his team
Hart is for best defenseman , not goalie. Vezina is best goalie.
