    I bought the Sklz five months ago and my game has improved. I have had lesson and a lot of practice but thats nothing new. The only new variable is the Sklz. My swing is faster and my distance is greater. I have a better turn and my left arm is straighter, though not completely straight yet.
    On the other had, I have experienced significant pain in my left hand and wrist that might have been caused by the strain put on it due to the Sklz. Stretch your hands and wrists a bit before you use it.

    Love the concept. Playing partner had one the other day and loves it. So here's my question. I hit the driver fine. It's the mid irons I have a tendency to pull lately. I was wondering if the shorter trainer would be better for irons or if it does not matter, just get the longer one? I saw how you demonstrated how to use it for the irons. Thank you.

    • @MikeSullivangolf

    • @utexasrealty
      @utexasrealty Před 7 lety +1

      Buy them both. I'm same height. The shorter one helps when you're trying to unwind at the office/home and need a little more clearance (probably helps my iron play as well). The longer one helps me extend for fairway & driver paths. It's a low cost investment for the payoff on the course. Another tip is to watch yourself via a really large wall mirror while swinging. I happened to have one at home and was able to improve my short backswing.

    Can this also help getting the club parallel toward the bottom of the downswing? I’ve been struggling to achieve this bent forward downswing position where the shaft is basically parallel at the bottom before you strike the ball. I’ve seen the “skipping the rock” exercises and can get to this position during a very slow practice swing but when I actually do a full swing, it goes right back to more of a chopping action. I can send you a clip of my swing (5 second video) to see what I mean.

      Hey there,
      Without watching your swing, it’s hard to diagnose. However, you may be opening your club face on the backswing and having to time it perfectly to get back to the ball. Any slight miss could result in trouble. Try to see where your club face is on your takeaway and impact, preferably on slow motion video.

    Ive read much conflicting information about swing aids that are heavy vs swinging a driver shaft with no driver head to create club head speed. I bought this exact thing and Im getting it this week to see if it improves my swing. Im single handicap "8" but still have my issues. I know it will make your clubs feel very light after swinging this heavy thing. NOW physics tell me if muscles and brain are used to something heavier when turning in a golf swing, that you should be able to swing faster or more effortlessly feeling and hit ball just as far. I swung a driver shaft the other day and it destroyed my rhythm on my irons driver etc.... It made my clubs feel like rocks on the end of a shaft. I read a blog by Jason Day who said dont swing heavy club trainers. They will make you swing slower. Swing light to swing faster. Thoughts?

    • @MikeSullivangolf

      The reason we exaggerate it is so you can see it with the naked eye. The subtleties of the over the top swing can’t often be seen by amateur golfers without slowing down video and comparing it to an ideal swing plane. Thanks for the feedback and allowing me to explain why golf pros do this.
