Yes we are proud :) Because Nagano was wonderful, then gold hattrick, Wien 2005... Patera, Prochazka, Reichel, Dopita, Slegr, Hasek, Jagr, Rucinsky, Straka, Malik, Ruzicka, D. Vyborny, Kaberle, Irgl, Vokoun, Hnilicka etc. etc. etc. We love them.
You guys from Canada an US can't understand why the commentator "announces" the goal so loudly. Canadians are always favored and expected to win every single game, you are mostly on the top. This kind of goal is something special for us in Czech Rep. (10 mil. of people), olympics semifinals vs Canada, tight game, both teams playing great, and suddently GOOOOOOOAAAALLL !!! The win over Canada/USA but especially Russia is always very important for us in every playoff game. Even at WC's. :D Just wanted to explain it a little.
Does anyone know where he is living now? We were friends when he played for Canucks, I lived in Prague for four years and lost contact with him. Is he is in Czecho or Canada? Diky

Jinak po roce 1990 jsme nástupnický stát, tudíž se tam Slováci nepočítají, ale je fakt, že pokud by jme dnes hráli společně, tak by těch vítězství bylo ještě víc. Jinak. Od roku 1920 25 titulů Rusko, 24 Kanada 12 Československo nebo Česko, 8 Švédsko, 2 USA a potom už to jde po jednom. Od Roku 1961 23 titulů Rusko, 10 Československo nebo Česko, 6 Kanada.

Yes you absoulutely have to!!! It was 1998, I remember the whole country life stopped, shops were closed, schools have day off .. everybody was watching. I remember the whole street shouted so much it felt like sound wave, windows nearly shattered ..
