- Adding unnecessary upgrades to Trailmater to be able to free spool the rear lower winch and the main boom winch from inside the cab. As we get closer to The Wrecker Games in Sand Hollow we are preparing for any event that may arise... And even scenarios we are inventing in our heads. You could use a PTO cable for that winch control too the way you change vac. shifters on front diffs.

Normal people try to NOT roll their vehicle on it's side. Rory and crew purposely tip their Jeeps over. At least Rory's tool/work bench looks a lot like mine. Cool idea to operate the winches from inside the cab!

That freewheeling works great you start to spin you can freewheel the load drive over bad spot stop and winch in the load , thats how you use a skidder in the woods.
I have aspirations of turning either a JD440 or 540 into a woods recovery vehicle, I just can't figure out how to come up with the money.

Back in the 90's, I mad a shift linkage for a mid-engine Corvair that looked similar to Rory's winch linkage. I used steering column U-joints and Heim joints. Worked great.

Speed kills on the metal drilling, lubricant or penetrating oil, some what slow drilling and easy ,steady pressure. I was crying watching drilling into the bed, especially the step bit(unibit).

Rory their your eyes 👀 and you do what you want but I worked several years as a Boilermaker and a Pipefitter!! And after several trips to the hospital to get steel out of my eyes I finally figured out that eye protection 🥽 would stop the problem!! But if you want to look like a Pirate with a patch on your eye keep on keeping on 👍🤣😂 are are are matey!!

Oh wow this really took some thought and insight to create this menagerie of rods, pulley's and sockets to make both winches free spooling from the cab of Mater but Rory and Mike got her done with Sean's supervision. Then a video playing in the snow and mud it don't get any better than this!
If you all can't fix it , it ain't broke... good job Rory and crew.

You know if that was Matt's wrecker the free spool would have been done with solenoids, reversing electric motors
or some hydraulic do - dads, love watching all of the bantering between channels and knowing whoever wins the TTO you will all have a great time and come away with valuable knowledge that will improve your customer service 👍
The differance is Trail Mater works every day. The MORR, and Rat guys haven't worked at all yet. Trail Mater is Proven to be a beast, ready to eat up the competition. Great Job, and good luck guys!
