Ashok Sarkar (Uttam Kumar) and his wife rent the 2nd story of a home from the homeowner (Kanu Bannerjee). And that homeowner turns out to be the landlord from hell, making the lives of the married couple and their servant miserable. To complicate things, the miserly landlord has a lovely daughter (Savitri Chatterjee) whose life he also does his best to ruin. Things just get worse and worse in the house until...

Kangali Babu is just like my grandfather in law. But he was very nice. He was leave us on 1976 i.e. 47 years ago. He was expanse all my college fees and books. We remember, missing him till date. He was leaved at Gobardanga near Mansa bari. He was a kabiraj i.e. ayurvedic doctor at that time. He was made many rental house for college students. My grandmother in law was died, when my mother's age was only 2 years. At present my mother is nomore. We lost her on the year 2012. Today when I am seeing this picture, again that feelings come to my memory. Thank you very much. Don't lose mother.

Thanks. Yes, sometimes the sources are so bad that the work done improves them but still leaves them horrible looking. But this was a case where the work done made a noticeable improvement with a decent-looking result.
I didn't know the film before I began working on it, but enjoyed it thoroughly after getting to know it.

You're welcome. I know you mean that as a compliment, and I appreciate it. But the DVD versions of these great Bengali films produced by the former copyright holder are so awful that anyone with the knowledge and the determination to improve upon them can do it.
By the way, this would have been released a week ago but that same former copyright holder put an illegal copyright block on it and I had to fight it off first.
