Tier list, the internet's favorite way to sort things. And after many hundreds of requests and questions about my opinion on nearly every MF DOOM Album, I thought it was about time to do a comprehensive rundown of every DOOM project.

Born like this deserved better. Absolutely is one of my all time favorite DOOM songs
Absolutely has to at least make this album an A tier, one of the greatest samples DOOM has ever used its an excellent track.
i love born like this but i wish some of doom's humorous personality was present in the album
it hella is, all of batty boyz is funny as fuck and thats that's last act is definitely meant to be humourous
Whats your favorite song on born like this and why is it angelz
You know ball. In my opinion with his lyrics, it's easily his most villainous and it being done around the time he was trapped in the UK I could only imagine how angry he felt and how he put it to words
Doom has some of the best album covers in my opinion
He has the best album covers,i I nat think of any artists that have album covers that are better.
Aesop Rock and Vinnie Paz Jedi Mindtrick album covers are nice to and they all have a abstract hidden message.
@@shottashabazz6721 Tyler, the creator also gets pretty creative with his. Like his last song in each album in the Dr TC storyline matches the album name. (Example: Golden Goblin, Inglorious Bastard, Lone Wolf)
He also had the IGOR album be a loop, the first song beginning with a synth that matches the last song in the album ending with a similar synth
Born like this gotta be my favourite album cover ever
Nah nah, that's a fact!
Vaudeville villain is an S tier album for me. There’s no weak points in the album, the production is different than any other DOOM album and the whole theme of the album is super creative. Not to mention how insane the bars are all over this record.
Vaudeville villain is my fav DOOM album of all time
Agree, VV should def be on top. So many good tracks and a joy to listen to.
The Open Mic songs are hilarious and go way too hard for something so unserious
@@gh0stdog89 THAT'S WHAT IM TALKIN ABOUT N-
Kinfolk!
SOBERDOOM Should be in S Tier
Its not a doom album
Its fan-made and supposed to sound like doom.
No it shouldn't
newgen lol
@@babasilijus the popmonster is coming for you!!! Run!!!!!!!
Born like this is absolutely at least A tier, the fact that it’s so underrated at this point confuses the hell out of me it’s got so many incredible songs and it is just as tight and consistent as the 2 best doom projects for, it’s top 3 and S tier personally
Also gazillion ear is really fucking good
Where is SOBERDOOM
Its not a doom album
Its fan-made and supposed to sound like doom.
Operation: Doomsday will always be my favorite from top to bottom and has the most sentimental of DOOM tracks to me. It captured a special aura of the NYC scene at the time as well. DOOM turned all heads when that record jumped on the scene.
yeah, I dont wanna sound like a hipster but this album shows when you started to listen to DOOM. If you were down with him back when the mysterious 12s started to show up in the later 90s, this album will likely be your favorite. I love his later stuff as well but this album was so unique
A few years ago, my friend John & I were just hanging , shmoking the jazz-cabbage & he put on “Take me to your Leader” by King Gheedorah
…and I’ve never been the same since.
Thank you John.
Jazz cabbage😂
When you hear that "follow the light" you know you're in for a good time
S/O to the composers of the original TOHO Godzilla flicks too
Venomous Villain is the most underrated DOOM album imo
Good album but I would have rather had a second geedorah album
@@daxmoney5011 maybe. Not sure how it would've turned out but I'd like that too. I like VV1 over Take Me To Your Leader tho
I only heard it for the first time recently but that album is fire
@@ThePurestMayhem Same. It took my a while to get to it because no one really talks about it and because it's not on spotify. I was pleasently surprised at how much I enjoyed it
Dub it off your man dont spend that 10 bucks
Vaudeville Villan, Madvillany, and Mm Food gotta be some of my favorite albums of all time
good picks.
1 mm food
2 vaudeville villain
3 born like this
4 operation doomsday
5 madvillainy
6 take me to your leader
7 the mouse and the mask
9 key to the kuffs ( i know i have it low but i actually really like this album)
And thats all the ones ive listened too
SOBERDOOM?
Its not a doom album
Its fan-made and supposed to sound like doom.
Stop with these botted comments
Take Me To Your Leader is my favorite album of all time.
Peak DOOM production
Fazers is that shit!!!!! I was hooked soon as I bought that CD and popped it in and heard that crazy ass beat.... I knew I was in for a musical ride of my life 🤯🔥👍💯😍
@@juliusjamison8246oh my god yes I fucking love Fazers
@@juliusjamison8246 I Wonder is so slept on imo
Another fantastic Absurd video. I can tell how hard you worked on this and the came out wonderfully .
DOOM has the most consistently amazing opening tracks for his projects. Fazers, Accordion, Beef Rap, Doomsday etc
SOBERDOOM came out in 2020. How come it's not on the list
Its not a doom album
Its fan-made and supposed to sound like doom.
Fan made album
I have a soft spot for mouse in the mask as it was my introduction to DOOM as a kid and has since spiral into my fascination with the character. I have listen to this album from start to finish so many times and will forever be my favorite album of all time.
Same for me it’s my favorite DOOM album and the first one I heard and purchased
I wish MF DOOM and Dangermouse could have done one more album together.
how good is old school, so good
Skipping over SOBERDOOM I see?
Its not a doom album
Its fan-made and supposed to sound like doom.
Thats a fan made album

Hey was wondering what website to get the MF DOOM rings they look dope and couldn’t find a link in the description thanks man.
P.S. I love ur videos u know ur DOOM man and not many people r making informative videos that r this fun to watch ur videos reminded me of DOOM and got me listening again now I’m writing again. Thanks for the inspiration
@@Tyler-fz5kj check their channel page and go to the about tab, there's a link to it in there
@@Big_Lard thanks for the tip bro

@The March of DOOM The ring is dope but the only thing to worry about is trying to find a chain that fits the pendent. Other than that they both seem to be priced well.
glad to see born like this getting some recognition, people talked so much shit about it that i missed out on checking it out for a while
16:50 DUDE THERE'S WEATHER GLOW!!!! "Let's go WeatherGlow!!"
10:53
That intro for Mouse and the Mask where they mention Adult Swim is also removed on physical versions too. I've got an original 2005 CD and the 2017 Deluxe Edition CD and they both begin the album with "Why did you buy this album? I don't know why you did, you're stupid!".
Only time I've ever heard the version with the Adult Swim mention was from uploads on CZcams.
S Tier - Madvillainy, BORN LIKE THIS, MM…FOOD, Take Me To Your Leader
A Tier - Vaudeville Villain, Operation: Doomsday, The Mouse & The Mask
B Tier - Keys to the Kuffs, Czarface Meets Metalface
C Tier - NehruvianDOOM, Super What?
D Tier - Venomous Villain
Yes this is what the ranking should've been. Born Like This should've been higher imo. But ofc it's all subjective
the combination betweenn DOOM and yugioh images is immaculate
also a doom & earl/ joey album would have been so great
you nearly made me cry with the idea of DOOM and Earl, Joey, or Gambino working together that would have been amazing
Born Like This over everything if you just want to hear DOOM raps at their absolute finest, That's That, Mayo, Ballskin etc are crazy
Don't forget gazillionear
Cellz
Super What? definitely deserved at least B class, but overall a very factual tierlist 😄
Super what is at least b tier that’s a great all round album
Thank you for the shoutout! 🙏🖤 I've always said VV2 was criminally slept on. Excellent research/video and keep up the good work! CK
didn't do born like this justice, it is easily top tear DOOM.
As much as I undertsand the love for Madvillainy, I always end up coming up MM Food and BORN LIKE THIS more. Doom's rapping on both those albums is mind boggling good.
i’m absolutely loving the tyler instrumentals in the background
Your editing is amazing, man. This is such a great video.
Thank you ☺️
Out of interest, who are your top 5 Emcee's? You seem to have impeccable taste over the years I have followed you. Big up for uploading this to CZcams also.
I appreciate that piano rendition of the smiths-there is a light that never runs out that was great
i was searching for this comment lmao
The most safe, normal MF DOOM tier list ever
Fr
Born like this, as a massive DOOM fan, I will admit I didn't warm to as a teenager, but getting older it seems to age like fine wine. I agree with most of the others though. Thanks for giving me some DOOM content. It's hard to find. Much love.
An Englishman in Cambodia.
Inspectah deck has been rapping about comic books back in wu tang. czar definitely did not steal Mf Dooms style. I feel like MF is very Wu Tang inspired being one of the first rappers using obscure pop culture references and skits cut from different movies/shows

your content deserves more recognition
also love the use of soundsmith's thumbnail in the misc section
The background music choice in these videos is insane
Take me to your leader is underrated in the new DOOM community imo
I wonder is one of my favorite DOOM songs such a beautiful song
such a sad song
Fantastic and very helpful video dude.
Every song on ‘Super What?’ makes me levitate
Music from Bully always slaps, even works for background music.
The JJDOOM Guvnor remix by “badbadnotgood” was dark and gritty af
That track slaps.
Great vid bro
18:01 love this edit
Take me to your leader is definitely an essential album imo. Top 3 DOOM for me. Along with Madvillainy and Vaudville Villain.
The KMD albums need more praise bro, yeah its not Dumile as most people who listen to DOOM know him but both of their albums are a great listen and I think they shouldnt be taken for granted
Thanks for linking tier list
Even though I haven't gone through is whole discography, MM..FOOD is just leagues above madvillany for me. The tracks just complement eachother so well as it set out like a 5 star 5 course meal not to mention how well each individual song holds up. While one beer and rap snitch knishes are top tier, my favs on the album are poo putt platter, guinesses, and Deep Fried Frenz like you said.
The repeating chorus of a war torn battlefield being a metaphor for love is just too real for me.
i understand your ranking of 'Super What' although Mando Calrissian is a personal favorite of mine off the album
you can tell bro likes bioshock, nice just got into doom this video is perfect for me
Have you listened to Greydon Square? You'd love his albums too. Very lore heavy and well made.
I'm really glad you pointed out the brilliance of his lyricism of the end of the verse you showed in the Tity Fat song but how could you not mention that the first part of that verse was actually THE BEST PART of the song maybe even whole album, his flow was unworldly, creative rhymes and unparalleled cadence, im literally can't explain it in words how good that verse sounded!
Great video and great tier list! My only nitpick is that MM…Food was released in 2004, not 2005.
I love the mouse and the mask and I have to say, I totally agree with your critique
Bukowski's poem is called "Dinosauria, we" :)
Good observation
I would move the first Viktor Vaughn record up to S, and born like this up to A, but otherwise I agree with this list. I agree with your thoughts about the Czarface Collab records, they're fun listens and would rank high on a Czarface tier list in my opinion. But they don't really stand very strongly on a DOOM list
You should definitely make a video about lesser known quasimoto things
You know… I think I actually agree with your rankings. You’ve brought a lot of interesting and informative ideas. For me tho, sofa king off dangerdoom was my first ever DOOM song so it’s extremely nostalgic and I would rate that album higher, but purely off nostalgia. I think born like this too may deserve higher, for me the consistency and overall “vibe” to the album is one of his strongest, but I stand politically different to batty boys so I have to skip every time, which I never do on DOOM tracks. R.I.P villain, gonna go listen to him now 🎧
This is a really good video
I think I speak for most of us DOOM fans, that the first contact you ahve with his music, has great influence in our own ranking. For example, I would rank Vaudeville Villain way higher, since it was one of my first listens. Madvillain above Mm... Food, but then again I totally agree with you, it is interchangeable.
NehruvianDOOM was not only produced by DOOM, but the end track, Great Things was produced by Madlib ❤
Well done. Thanks
You scared me with the sudden change of music to eateot
I hear what you're saying about the long skits on DangerDoom but I'm still making it top tier based on originality when considering what other Rap artists were doing at the time.
RIP MF DOOM.
love that kira's theme
I actually got around to Vaudeville Villain and dawg if that's fine wine, I might be an alcoholic. Some of those beats straight up sound like a PS1/N64 horror game everyone slept on; like if Jersey Devil had a secret level with the most whiplashed tone shift.
Key to the kuffs and born like this are so underrated
For me it's hard to rank these projects cause they're all at least decent, but I guess if I had to tier list em:
S: Madvillainy, Vaudeville Villain, MM... FOOD and Mouse and the Mask
A: Take Me Tour Leader, Operation Doomsday, Born Like This, Super What?
B: Czarface Meets Metal Face, Key to the Kuffs
C: NehruvianDOOM, VV2: Venomous Villain
i mean, saying czarface ripped off DOOM is just overprotecting the regard u have for DOOM. there are so many differences in the music to where statements like that, just shows how toxic the hardcore DOOM fans can be towards people trynna push things that sound similar, or is inspirered by the great universe DOOM established. Czarface is 100% heavily inspirered by DOOM, but a rip off? thats harsh man. otherwise a really great video dude
Thanks for the DOOM content
Would be awesome to see all the projects placed into the N/A Tier ranked!
A great video about DOOM's discography. Personally I'd swap Take Me To Your Leader and Born Like This, but that's just me
Top 3 for me is Mm Food, Take Me to Your Leader and Vaudeville Villain. But really there are no bad picks.
You should make a tier list on the difficulty of DOOM's songs from easy to hard. Ran into a channel of someone reviewing "that's that" as his first ever song he listened to from MF DOOM, and he was turned off, saying "he's just rhyming words just to rhyme" instead of actually paying attention 😂🤣. If not a list of songs, maybe an album tier list of what songs should be a listener's first vs what would be high level listening
Frist time I listen to MF DOOM it was all outta of ale I was with a friend and he was playing it in his car, still love that song
I havent listned to all of the mans discog yet but my rankings of what I have would be
1. Mm...Food. greatest album of all time and what I recommend and rant about to anyone I talk music with.
2/3. tie between madvillany and the mouse and the mask. i enjoy both a lot and love them both for different reasons, if I had to choose one rn it would probably be mouse & the mask because I have been on a kick with it recently and love it to bits.
4. vaudeville villain. adore the sound of this album and need to give it another listen soon, tracks like saliva and lactose and lecithin are highlights IMO and full of great bars.
and now albums I haven't listen to all the way through/enough times to rank fully
5. born like this. listened front to back only once and need to again, during my one listen I was driving so don't remember specific highlights but I did enjoy the album.
6. take me to your leader. i adore some tracks off this record, like I wonder, fazers, and anti-matter but I haven't listened to it as an album in almost a year so I definitely need to revisit.
7. operation doomsday. i have never listen all the way through (need to I know) so I cant really rank it effectively. while I enjoy the jazzy sound its not my favorite and I prefer other DOOM projects overall.
overall I adore DOOMs work and everytime I listen to it it gives me this special feeling and is truly a special experience. i love putting my friends on and seeing them enjoy the stuff I do and having them reference DOOM and make jokes about songs with me in our day to day interactions gives me unreasonable joy. i want to thank my childhood friend Evan for putting me on to DOOM just over a year ago with rhymes like dimes (which i actually didn't like at the time, had limited taste back then) and then later benzi box and sofa king which is what sent me down the path that lead to my love of DOOM i have now. i also just wanna say, AbsurdE your videos are so well made and always are filled with such a passion for the super villains work and they are truly a pleasure to watch. i learn new things about the villian everytime i watch a video of yours and you have definitely strengthened my love for DOOM over the many months it has been since i found your channel. i hope you blow up and more people can see your great content and get put onto the greatest to ever grasp the mic, MF DOOM. thanks for reading all of this anyone who has, have a great day and go listen to some DOOM.
Mm food is criminally underrated
enjoyed the vigos jar of salty lips insert when luck was brought up lmao
😆 i like that manscaped kinda sponsored the videos cause of your pummyyussy
Love it cause it’s so unexpected and so obviously right at the same time.

Born like this criminally underrated.
holy smokes they way I just thought of how crazy a JOEY AND DOOM TRACK WOULD BE
Great video
S: Food, MV, Vaughn
A: Doomsday, Black Bastards, Leader
B: Born Like this, Mouse & Mask
C: Keys, Czarface albums
Imo
Great vid btw
Not beefing but Vaudeville Villain is def S tier purely on lyrical content, crazy dense stanzas and actual poetry. My personal favourite ❤️ also on a side note one of my favourite verses is on the Molemen produced YeeHaw but this was also the first single I bought of DOOM’s so it may be nostalgia 🤷♂️
Czarface meets metal face’s theme is terror, just look at the cover and the instrumentals, it feels as if the world is in peril
6:50 I can't think of the guys name but his instrumental album is amazing. Dr. Something...
dr who dat?
The Mouse and The Mask is by far my favorite album
I've been preaching everywhere on Reddit about can I watch and no one has been hearing me, I'm so happy you like it too
You can't go a day without listening to deep fried frenz, kon queso and potholderz at least 5 times in a row
I'm out rn, but damn, I can't wait to see this one.
The Fine Print on the King Geedorah album was a heavy rotation track. My opinion, however some will agree.
10:20 ALL THIS TIME I LISTENED TO THAT SONG AND BEEN A DOOM FAN AND I DIDN'T NOTICE THIS WTF!!😮😮😮😮😮😮
Damn thanks for pointing me toward bookhead, the music is like something from Bladerunner.
Born like this imo is a tier, top 3 doom album
you are right about JJ DOOM
