Will definitely be creating more long form videos in the future. I like making short ones because I can post them to Instagram, CZcams and TikTok all at the same time, but I really enjoy making longer ones.

I'm so glad to have found your site here and this clip in particular. I have just retuned the local outdoor public "painted" piano in my town. It was horribly out of tune after having been hit this past winter with snow and then heavy rain this spring. Some fools left the custom cover off both times. It was a nice Baldwin Acrosonic when it was first delivered 8.13.18. The Downtown Assn. was more interested in having it painted, for free, of course. Then they said they had no money for tuning. It was tuned only once since then by a pro, for free. I have worked on pianos as a hobby since the 1970s. Tuning is something I only recently figured out better, thanks to numerous CZcams tutorials. So, with some patience, some glue, some synthetic oil, some time, my tuning hammer, a temperament strip, a couple of wedges, a Korg CA-2 tuner, my ears, and only two large coffees, I have happily got the beast running again and in tune, a little sharp. I wonder how long this tuning will hold at a "reasonable" tuning. It's not perfect, but it's pretty good, considering. It still needs a new paint job. Tuning in front of the town's busy intersection can slow things up. Warm weather has brought out loud motorcycles to compete with. Still, it was a good, methodical, stress-free four hours in the hazy sun. I never imagined I would get a sunburn while tuning a piano. It put me in the proper frame of mind to later offer up the Girl From Ipanema and Blue Bossa. Thanks for being there, I really enjoyed this clip. I know I will watch more of you. Peace.

Anyhow I wish you lived around these parts, because I would have you come and fix our piano. It needs a couple new hammer shanks Put on as unfortunately during my first tuning of the piano to assess it before we got it, I bumped a couple of the shanks with my mute and they broke lol.

Wow you're really good at this! I wish you could tune my 1865 Bauer & Company upright grand from Chicago. The factory that built it perished in the big historical fire they had there. I think Wurlizer took the company over. I also have a double tier Neupert Harpsicord. Just guessing it may have been built in the 60s or 70s.
I have been playing piano since 4th grade in 1974. I have been teaching piano on and off since 1986. Many times i have thought about becoming a piano tuner.....it just seems practical for the families that i teach. My only reservation is: hiw heavy are the various parts on the piano?? It doesn't really seem like he's straining to lift anything in any of his videos, and I'm sure you could ask for the owner of the piano to stick around while you tune in case something might be too heavy for you. I think if learning how to tune a piano is something you really want to do, you should go for it!

To add to my last comment, while I have been tuning for many years, I have never learned the technical side of piano repair. My wife is starting to though, but it's hard to keep on top of the number of instruments around this house and keeping them in working order lol But we both play, and that's just the way it is lol
This made me grab both my bass guitars and give them a clean, the fret boards were so dried out I had to oil them a couple of times and they were way out of tune too, it might be worth polishing the metal parts actually.
