I know when I holler and when most other people holler, we're not hitting notes and going up and down the musical scale -- we're just hollering and that's the difference between hollering and singing. Jennifer has a 3 or 4 octave range so she can hang out at high notes and she doesn't mind using her voice which I find refreshing. I think folks like your husband have become so conditioned to listening to folks hum their way through songs or their weak voices are drowned out by loud bands or over shadowed by the theatrics around the performer until the audience doesn't know what a good singer sounds like.
