Only thing I could have asked for mezco to have done better would be double jointed elbows, an led light in slimer would have been mad awesome, hollowed out proton beams, and cigarette smoking head sculpts XD
So I don't know if you noticed this but when you look at Dan aykroyd's alternate face for Ray you mentioned the Sedgewick hotel scene but if you look at his lips there's a little divot there I think he needs a little plastic cigarette to go in his mouth I know smoking is bad I'm a smoker I regret it but it does look like there's a spot for a cigarette get a toothpick and break it until it's about the right size and then paint the front half of it white and then put a little red Speck on the tip
The headscans have that 3D printer cartoony look to them. Makes them look too young. However, the proton packs and attention to detail on the accessories are second to none. Love the reviews, love the channel.

Great review. I feel you were a touch generous on the ratings for the head sculpts. I’m still torn on grabbing these for myself. Biggest disappointment is the streams don’t light up when the wand is on. I don’t know I guess for $300 I expected a little more.
That Spengler is the Library ghost face. I've heard many people say that Egon never made that face but he totally did. The one accessory we didn't get that we should have is a Twinkie.

Love the set I got, I picked mine up off of Amazon Prime like a month ago and they were only $259.99 which made it an easier pill to swallow, but who am I kidding I would have still paid $300 for the set. Even the tin package is beautiful.
Thought of buying the Diamond Select figures! Honestly, $300 bucks is a steal considering the eBay prices I've seen. The flipping pack lights up. I'm sold.

They're far superior to the Mattel and Diamond Select versions by far. And while they don't match the detail of the Blitzway versions, I like their 1:12 size better (vs. the 1:6 size that Blitzway uses) and they're of course, far cheaper.
The amount of details in those tiny clothes is amazing. And doing tiny doll clothes can be very difficult too. Usually the most expensive parts on dolls are the clothes. And on top of that the paint job. They don't look like a massproduct to me, so I would say the price is fair for those.
Just seen Ecto 1 in my small hometown of Fort Macloed today! they are filming a car chase scene today and tomorow! Ecto 1 looks like it had a couple upgrades!

Great review and love your Ghostbusters collection. I own some Mezco figures and I can honestly say that Mezco figures always look better in person. I think the reason a lot of the sculpt gets lost is that Mezco uses a flesh colored urethane type material which makes it too translucent, thus losing a lot of the detail in the face. Add to that the Hair paint apps being too dark and the result is jarring. Mezco should really do fully painted heads rather than paint on top of a flesh colored base head sculpt. Too Bad because the outfits and accessories are awesome. But rest assured I have a feeling you can possibly find new head sculpts off of the secondary market in the near future as this 1/12 figure market is really starting to grow because of the fact that the 1/6 scale figure market prices are starting to get too ridiculously over priced.
So...ended up getting these bad boys on clearance at a local comic shop for $220. I have a love/hate relationship with them. First, they look AMAZING on display. The attention to detail is fantastic. However, I do find the hands and proton pack waist strap to be quite frustrating when trying to pose the figures. The hands popped off constantly and the waist strap would come undone. I also had to glue an elbow pad strap back on because it ripped off. Overall, I’m happy with these. It’s weird they used the “bootleg” Ghostbusters logo without the chin though. Does anybody know why?
Usually Mezco does a fairly descent job on likeness, but I think they are well off on each one of these characters. And with the technology they have today to 3D scan, thats really unacceptable at that price point.
I am no action figure collector, I just watched this because I was looking for what figures are out there for decoration. I wasn't that impressed with the faces of the new Afterlife figures so I wanted to check out older ones. But these ones are really barely recognizable. Honestly, if he wasn't in a Ghostbusters suit I would not have guessed this was supposed to be Bill Murray. Around the 7 minute mark where the Mezco is put inbetween two others for comparison, I think both of the others resemble Murray a lot more. And so does the new Afterlife figure. The others don't look great either. I don't understand how the review was so positive concerning the heads.
So, just as a smidge of correction as an action figure fanatic. The Joker figure is not by any means "new" it is roughly 2 years old, but it was the first to use the buck. These figures came out a month or 2 before the 2nd joker figure.
@Gate2Avalon Yeah man, I love that store, it's where I get most of my collectables from. Such a great store, as soon as you walk in, there's a cabinet filled with movie/tv collectable figures. Definitely worth a visit if you've never been 👍🏻

Honestly, these would only be up to fitting into the Hero Collector Ecto-1 that you build month by month. It’s 1/9th scale but, looks 1/10 (7 inch) scale. I wondered the same thing when I bought these. Good news/Bad news is if you just want them displayed with no playability in the ecto-1 the new AMC (popcorn holder) is just about (1/12) right on display with flashing lights. It’s only $34.99 I highly recommend for displaying.
Good to know for the AMC Popcorn Ecto 1, the Hero Collector it seems very difficult to find. How about the Plasma Serie Ghostbusters Legacy Ecto 1 from Hasbro? Do you know what scale is that?

People asking for $3000 for a Buzz lightyear Fnko pop ( which is stupid IMO), so i don’t see any problems paying $300 for these guys. The details are amazing
The problem with the faces is they tried too hard to be humanoid and didn't inject a tiny bit of character or caricature into the expressions. None of the likenesses are perfect but a little cartooniness would not hurt these face sculpts.
Same issue with the DST figures (although the DST figures are also let down by atrocious paint jobs). I really prefer the Matty figures for 6” scale so far. They’re not realistic, but they’re nice stylized caricatures of the characters, that I much prefer to the horribly executed offerings from other companies.
$225 at most cause their not a bigger scale I'm more into the 12 inch figure myself so that's why I think the high priced is to much for something so small

They look great they should have given Ray his cigarette dangling off his lip from when he first saw Slimer.

Blitzway 1/6th scale should be in everyones Ghostbuster collection.. and you need Ecto 1 1/6th scalw by Blitzway as well

300 is a steal for soft goods figs, not the greatest likenesses but they work. But I just dropped 120$ on those spectral busters so maybe another day.

Why the no ghost logo without the chin...
Everyone of them lack the chin. The tin, the bases, and all the logos on the uniforms. It’s pretty bad, especially for $300.
I really hope hasbro does these, obviously not to such a high standard though.

TBH, I think the Hasboro plasma series figures look better. Much more realistic & life like in my opinion.
