Ahh man. I can tell you're passionate about this but to me it came across like you're against the idea of diverse representation in general. Idk, I hope I'm wrong.
When done right it absolutely can add to a story. When done poorly (diversity for diversity sake) it can feel clunky and forced and can detract from the gameplay.
I've seen an equal knee jerk response from ppl who "have different ideologies." Put a queer character in a game and watch ppl lose their minds.

The real story these game journalists should be covering is why people from Sweet Baby Inc are being openly racist and not getting any backlash at all. I do not condone actual harrasment against anyone. Trying to get a user's account banned: that's harrasment.
Journalism doesn't cover woke racism, because they are scared of Sweet Baby Inc's behaviour and harassements.
The only way to stop all of this, is to stop buying games made by people who hate us.

It's sad to see the comic industry, then the movie industry and the game industry make the exact same mistake of "I'm not going to give my audience what they want, because I don't personally agree with it". We are your customer, not your friends.

There is a certain group of folks who want to infuse politics into everything. The main goal of doing this isn't for votes or changing "the industry" its to create division among folks who, otherwise, had no reason to be divided. We as gamer's HAVE to keep these divisive tactics out of gaming... I would say the same for sports and anything else that was a national past time to be able to get away from our every day struggles even if just for a few hours...

Can someone answer why nobody is talking about the editor of Kotaku saying "you can't be racist against white people"? Why does every single game news outlet omit that, or omit that they tried to get Kabrutus banned?

"Diversity" was perfectly accepted in games like the Mass Effect series, because it wasn't "the agenda" and wasn't pushed down the throats to "educate". It was just a NORMAL THING. Different strokes for different folks. Nobody cared. This was also the way I perceived the populations opionion to it: your sexxuality? Your good mate, do as you pleasure. No need for discussion. Why are we going backwards?
Because the left has instituted the profoundly undemocratic idea of listening to minorities and doing what they want. The whole idea of democracy being to listen to the majority.
That's not to say we shouldn't care for minorities, but instituting hiring quotas and promoting people based on their sexual preference or race is insane.

This is a running theme in a lot of places these days. These people with only self interest for either themselves or their "group" shoehorn their way into positions of power and then tell the well established field that things need to change bc its not good for their group and when they get their way they make garbage and expect everyone to believe its gold. If you dont believe its gold then its not their fault, its you whose the problem and thus forces people to think that great things are actually terrible and that awful things are actually great. Then we wonder why so many things lately have gone down hill. The children who throw temper tantrums have been let into places they shouldnt have been in in the first place.

Always like your videos and perspective on things. As someone who works in the game industry and has strong beliefs. I don't want to cram my beliefs down people's throat. It wouldn't be good for me, the game, the people receiving the content, and definitely wouldn't help convince others of my beliefs. Luckily for the people who are trying to cram their beliefs down our throats, it isn't working out well for them. People quickly begin to realize the game is no longer the focus of the art. It is propaganda. And people really really despise paying for it.

iiidk man, I definitely default to not trusting consultants but I also do NOT like the way this is happening. There’s an awful lot of dogwhistling and more going on in the sweet baby detect camp. Like sure have your waifus but some of us are into more in our games, or at least there’s plenty of gaming to go around that we can all have our niche.
Also, there is *always* a political element to everything, it’s just easier to not recognize that when it aligns with your interests, whatever they may be.
I won’t be part of gamer gate 2, mocking & vilifying players that aren’t like me, like a lot of the discourse has been about - regardless of how wrong or right sweet baby is.

I just find it absurd that people go into places they know they aren't welcome and complain about being mistreated. There are people that are mean and phobic in the world (I'm sure there are in the Steam Baby Inc Detected Discord). Just ignore them. You know when you meet a tourist and tell him not to go to a bad neighbourhood, and they go and get robbed and then complain? It's common sense. She went to that discord looking for idiots and people that would use foul language against her, finds them, and is utterly surprised that "discord allows this". What? Allow people to create private chat rooms? I don't agree with their choice of words or even their ideas, but I will 100% defend the right to shit talk on the internet, especially if you're doing it in your own space.
The issue is that they aren't welcome to begin with. Like why shouldn't they be welcome. Their argument seems to be revolved around why they aren't welcome to begin with.

This is how businesses are ran, they bring in consultants to get feedback on their games and how some people in their market might react to them. Just don't wanna see another creator I enjoy go down the road of "Anti-SJW" youtubers from the past. It's lazy and usually just fosters more hate.
