- Today I'm borrowing the CZcams trope of watching a first and last episode and applying it to self-published stories from Wattpad! I managed to find a good smattering of tried and true Wattpad genres: the undercover teen romance, the billionaire arranged marriage romance, and the bad boy gangster romance. Is this video way too long? Yes. But did it at least yield an entertaining result? No.

"Samantha Grey" sounds like the main character from a spinoff of fifty shades of grey that revolves around christian and anna's daughter who is a CEO just like her dad from that sweet sweet nepotism and ends up becoming more of a morally skewed degenerate than him.
I propose the title "Fifty Shades of White: A Girlboss Tragedy"

Think maybe it's worth remembering that Hannah Montana ended in 2011 so the premise for the first one had just been around in the public conscience

1:09 I have a lot of respect for all these young writers who have the dedication to stick to writing and put out Britannica-sized tomes between living the rest of their lives. Quality will come with practice and critique, but the work discipline and passion they already have are priceless qualities that differentiate the potential future pro from the forever hobbyist.
Vague business talk in novels never fails to make me laugh
no matter how many times you put that picture of sam smith on the screen it still made me laugh out loud every time
I like how much crossover there is between these stories. The Sam Smith story has the same kind of romantic description of a sibling as The Bad Boy and the Tomboy, but then Sam Smith and the Devil Husband both have final chapters that start with people struggling to open doors, and all three of the stories in this video end with the return of a long-lost parent, three out of four of which immediately die.
I mean, there are tropes and then there's whatever this is.

Honestly that second story is kind of cute. I mean it's called Devil For A Husband but it ends on this really sweet and wholesome note of him reconciling with his mom, being happy and relieved that she didn't kill the evil ex antagonist, and this just absolutely incredible himbo moment with him not getting her cutesy pregnancy reveal. That on top of the vague business talk in the first chapter, it's honestly so endearing. I love that teen girl fantasies are either 'sexy bad boy love interest', 'wholesome dumb boy love interest' or 'my sexy bad boy love interest is actually a wholesome dummy'.
No I kind of agree! Like I said reading the description, most stories like that are like dark creepy abusive 'romances,' I was pleasantly surprised that it's basically just a tame Lifetime movie (with no explicit love making scenes) (because reading about intercourse is boring)

I love the fanfiction community there are some really good works in Wattpad or crazy ideas that somehow work well, but my problem with Wattpad is that the types that romances that are the most popular are not really my thing after being a shelter volunteer.
I thought Blayze was an actual devil or satan for like the entirety of that story so I was very confused until I realized 😂Loved the format for this video! and I always find the way you end your vids hilarious
This was delightful, I cannot count the amount of times I laughed or covered my face in shock and wonder. There are just so many gems here that I can't even count them all, teen girls are truly on a next level of unhinged and imaginative and I love them.

After this video my partner and I continued to read my best friends cousin, but by pingponging back and forth so reading the 2nd chapter then 2nd to last etc, and it was a harrowing experience I recommend it highly

i’m not sure if I’d go that far haha but the funny thing about it is bc these are wattpad books every time you go back one from the end you discover that something you assumed was a dramatic reveal was actually explained in excruciating detail the chapter before

The most wild thing to me as a person who completely missed Wattpad's existence because I was just slightly too old to have noticed it's cultural peak in the 2010's is that everybody called their fanfics and stories books on it. I could not imagine having the confidence as a 13 year old to call my poorly written story a book

there are definitely competent writers on Wattpad! just a lot of bad stuff floats to the top unfortunately
