How To Make Your Own EPIC Budget $20 2.1 Speaker System (VLOG)

  • When I found a sub and 2.1 amplifier down at my used trade store (model number CAV SW260), I was intrigued, could I do a budget sound 2.1 sound system with this, and furthermore - would it sound any good?
    Well after bringing it home and unpacking it and then hooking in the initial Onkyo speakers, I realised they were 4 ohms and since this unit has a 6 ohm output it wasn't going to make for a good relationship, low and behold though the $3 Sony speakers that I picked up were 8 ohms and these would fit nicely into the setup, and when I hooked it all up... MY GOD, 2.1 sounds so much nicer than a 2.0 setup in my opinion (I just need that floor shaking bass), and if you can find bargains on ebay or craigslist or other trading posts (gumtree comes to mind) then you can certainly put together something that will trump 2.1 systems that run into the hundreds of dollars... Suffice to say this sounds better than my Z4 system which I have upstairs, and it all up only tallied $20 (so this is definitely the best 2.1 system for under $100 lol)!
    If you have any questions let me know in the comments below! However this is certainly my most favourite budget how to to date!

    Its easy to sound good when you’re playing a track with tight, consistent bass bumps, no mids, piercing highs. The song was designed to sound good on anything.
    Put in a vocal track, or ensemble instrumental where your speakers will have to work on their sides of the crossover, maintaining levels as the bass guitar goes up the scale.

      +LoneEdge - Graphics That sub will need some serious juice to power it. What ohm load is the sub rated at? You can wire in parallel or serial depending on the gear. If you are in aus grab something like this (people don't know bargains when they see them), grab a stepdown converter and gg you will have some seriously good sound. www.ebay.com.au/itm/Philips-DAP-6040-Car-Power-Amplifier-4-channel-/221915961082?hash=item33ab38d6fa:g:ziIAAOSwMmBV3IiV

      really it's a mini home amp, people really don't let them go becuase they last so long. Onkyo or other name branded theatre amps will work ok and if you see an amp that's made after 1975 you usually can get a great amp. Hope that helps.

    • @techyescity
      @techyescity  Před 8 lety +1

      +Eric Marcus The x7 can wire a sub in off the 2 speaker outs, thought I would have to figure out the ohm impedance of leeching it off both channels, *doing maths in head* - two 6 ohms on 4ohm output with a sub slicing off both hmmmm, I would have to probably go with 8 ohm speakers and an 8ohm sub to be safe. I have the controller that has volume control, very handy system, really proud of it for some reason lol....

    speakers and amps can be bought dirt cheap from hardoff and other used item shops in japan. the problem is when your neighbors hate sound with even the lowest volume, they call the police. when i was there i can only blast sound on the warehouse where i used to work since neighbors are slightly far away. but from where i live now its not a problem anymore. currently using a cheapo creative a120 2.1 pc speaker for general listening but highs and lows are lacking. very cheap indeed at only 20$ too, gets the job done. when i want to party i have a pair of 15" folded base bins and 12" pro monitor and amps to power em... the 10$ pioneer speakers i got from hardoff needs repairing, the bass crackles....

    • @MsHUGSaLOT
      @MsHUGSaLOT Před 8 lety

      +Tech YES City no it has a secondary SATA controller for cloning harddrive (2 of the 6 sata ports) that is basically useless to the OS. You just need to turn it off in bios, but it does have a PATA connector but that is on the same controller the other 4 SATA ports are on.

    • @techyescity
      @techyescity  Před 8 lety

      yeah the problem i had was getting to the bios, would get stuck on that initialzing stage every time...

    • @MsHUGSaLOT
      @MsHUGSaLOT Před 8 lety

      +Tech YES City Yeah, normally it would just go past that if it found no drives hooked up to it. And i do remember your video you didn't have any drives hooked to those SATA ports (which is good) since you want to use the native chipset SATA controller which controls 4 other SATA ports and the PATA ports.
      Also make sure Express Gate is turned off. this was a quick boot into a stripped down linux OS that ASUS made letting you get online and do basic things and download stuff onto USB sticks if you needed a quick driver, as well as other basic web stuff. I think ASUS abandoned that since they hadn't been using it in any newer motherboard since then, and I only used it a handful of times. It was useful during OS install and you needed a quick dirver DL when you had no OS installed. Trick is you needed windows already installed to install express gate., Go fig.

The scroll wheel is disappointing, especially when i scrolled downward but upward is acceptable. basically, artisan is from japan so i think is more easier for u to review. brian, time to change it. i personally prefer hayate otsu but unfortunately they don't have XXL size & also quite exp so i ended up with QcK+. by the way, i don't think they have divot style. maybe u can try ask them send u some mouse mats for review.
