I have been here only three times, once during the Christmas season, and it never ceases to awe and amaze me. To think that New York City was chalk full of mansions just like this, albeit with a much smaller footprint. The history we have lost is irreplaceable, which makes saving this beautiful estate an absolute must.
Even with its massive size, it's still very relaxing and feels like a home. It's one of my favorite vacation spots. I would love to live in the Biltmore Forest neighborhood.
Although I have been to the Biltmore many times, including Christmas, I have really never been able to take in the complete beauty, architecture, artwork, decor, and Christmas decorations as I have in this video! Such attention to detail was amazing! Thank you for sharing this beautiful video!
Thank you so very much for the kind words and for viewing. The Biltmore amazes me every time I see it & wanted to share its beauty with those that can’t be there physically. ❤
I grew up going to Biltmore with my Sunday school group, my girl scout troop, and with my friends. This was the 1960s. As a teenager, a girlfriend and I would ride our horses by sneaking on to the back side of the Biltmore Estate...miles and miles of trails to ride. Aaah, such wonderful memories. Viewing this clip I see so much has changed in the last 52 years. I was raised right there in South Buncombe County.
Sounds lovely. I grew up also riding trails with my friends. I can't ride anymore due to medical issues but those adventures in the woods are my most treasured memories.
Thank you so much for this beautiful, thoughtful post. We are 78, both have had COVID longhaulers since March 2020. Live 60 miles away and have not been able to get to Biltmore since March 2020. This is such a treat. God Bless You❣️ and MERRY CHRISTMAS . You have made two old folks very happy with your post.
Absolutely stunning video of a magnificent home. I’ve had the wonderful opportunity to visit Biltmore, however, it was wonderful to be taken back through this video, especially at Christmas. The music throughout was perfect for this tour.
I went to Biltmore for the 2nd time in Nov and still loved it. The Xmas decorations are so beautiful. Thanks for this tour, I loved seeing it again. Can’t wait to go back, especially for more wine 😋
Christmas at Biltmore is incredible but not affordable for most of us anymore. I appreciate you sharing this but I’d like to be able to see it in person. I wish their tickets were half the cost.
Biltmore is such an amazing place. Been there twice. Once at Christmas and once in the spring. Incredible! I love the basement the best with the wonderful kitchen, laundry room, workout room, pantry, pool, & servants quarters. It’s definitely a place everyone should visit. I wish it still had the outdoor pool. Incredible home! So worth seeing and I plan to go back again.
It’s lovely having this video just to soak in the splendor. And the music choice is excellent. We used to have annual passes when we lived in Spartanburg County. Loved to visit every season.
The details of this castle is astonishing! Mixes of culture n craftmenship come together. Then adding Christmas decor on top of it is swimming in icing!! I visited once in the summer. It was lovely! ❤❤❤ it sure is a must visit!
We visited last week in the evening, so this video during the daytime was awesome to watch. Thanks so much for posting. Our favorite room was the library.
I remember being able to park at the front door on our 1982 visit. Then in 1997 we took a carriage ride down to the front door from the visitor’s center. Wonderful.
Wow, that’s amazing! I wish they still did this, but I understand why they don’t with the amount of people there today. Thanks for viewing & sharing! ❤
32:40 The most beautiful piano arrangement of White Christmas I've ever heard. Befitting of the Biltmore Estate...a stunningly beautiful architectural masterpiece.
Enjoyed the video a lot. We've never been to Biltmore - a number of our friends have. Aside from liking the musical background, we learned a lot about the estate - and will have to make a visit on our schedule for the new year! Thanks for posting!
Nice job! Although I wish the volume of the music was lower, it's otherwise very well done, and I appreciate that music is the only sound. Biltmore allows non-flash photography for personal use. I have toured and photographed it many times. I also went before photos were allowed and refused to go again until they allowed photography because I forgit most of what I had seen after about 3 days! Having images to remind me of what I saw has increased my enjoyment immensely and made me want to return. The floral arrangements change with the seasons and lighting is different, etc.., so no visit is exactly the same as another. Now, it feels like home because I know it more intimately.
Thank you for viewing! You should be able to adjust your volume on any device you’re using to view. 😊 Also thanks for sharing the cool facts / your Biltmore experience!
How many men did it take to build the Biltmore Estate? It took 1,000 men six years to build the house. Construction began a year later by what is reported as 1,000 talented craftsmen, and Biltmore House opened to the family at Christmas 1895.May 1, 2015
Thank you so much for taking us along, I also just posted my Christmas Home Tour with a very traditional Plaid on Plaid theme. God bless and happy holidays Ramon
From what I understand I do believe they did. They were very big on giving back to their community and treating their house staff & builders above and beyond what typical payment and treatment was at that time. They would host family and friends often and they specifically chose the location due to the beauty of the area & the view. Thank you for watching! ❤
Surprised you were able to video the interior, it wasn’t allowed in the past. Of course, at one time, you weren’t able to take pictures inside either. It’s nice to see it as if you were touring. It’s such a fabulous place.
What is shown in this video is such a small part of the house. There are floors that were not shown at all. It is BEAUTIFUL! I live about 30 minutes from the estate.
Beautiful. I just wish whoever made the video would have panned the rooms. This is one of the most palatial homes in the world. You couldn’t tell that from this video.
I had visited the Biltmore twice several years ago. At that time you could park in the upper area where the gates are. We weren't allowed to see any of the servants quarters. I have the book on the house and upon reading it I found out things that if I had known I would have paid more attention. But it's hard to observe everything in a magnificient house of that size.
I didn’t see the exquisite crèche (nativity) that was always on the buffet in the room with the fabric ceiling! Such a shame if they’ve taken Christ out of Christmas 😢
The house today is better than it was when Mr. V lived there. Kudos to the Floral Department for their hardwork in the decorations for Christmas. Don't think the lighted fireplace is a good idea
Such a whopping, eye popping French gothic palace! Today’s cost for the entire project would probably run into billions. Wisely built where it wouldn’t be pressured by developers for destruction.
Her rent isn’t $3000 but her maintenance fee would be about this monthly or if she didn’t inherit it was rent controlled and she had it handed to her by her parents. She had a story there at 15 so one of these situations make sense.
I visited there once with my children. Unfortunately was told, "yes, bring your children, a family place", it's for couples and older people honestly. It was beautiful.
I have not had the privilege to visit Biltmore and mentioned a possible narration only because I love history and am sure that this beautiful home is filled with interesting facts. However, I completely agree that the video certainly does speak for itself, and the music without vocals allows us to be swept away with the breathtaking beauty in quiet reflection!! Again, thank for allowing us all to peek into something so special!!❤
@@lmoore155 Do a search on CZcams. There a videos that go the history of the Biltmore. You should try to visit one day. As beautiful as it is in pictures and video, it is nothing compared to seeing it in person.
I’ll have to add that to my bucket list! I think they’re both beautiful in their own way and two totally different styles/locations so it’s hard for me to compare personally. Thanks for watching! 😊
I have gone to Biltmore in the past many times at Christmas. The Christmas decorations were sparse, not like in years past. Did not see even one nativity scene. Has Biltmore gone WOKE? Go WOKE, go BROKE. Management has changed hands for sure. Nobody I know can afford to visit anymore with the price of admission. Jesus is the reason for the season. Keep Christ in Christmas. Noticed how small the crowds were. Not like in years past. Waiting in line to get in. This is very sad. Gouging people on admission will not make money in this economy. Rethink your charges. And, I have not seen a single Angel either?
This was over priced to see "how the other half live." The staff was not a bit friendly. To me it felt cold and uninviting... There were homeless people just beyond the home and this is a lavish home....In other words....It was nothing to write home about!!
You didn’t shoe the massive fireplaces or take better shots at the dinner ware. You just scammed by them and not taking your time to really show what the Biltmore house looked like!
Lovely video. But you have fallen into the trap that so many CZcamsrs do in thinking that music playing constantly and invasively adds something when in reality all it does is drown the experience. We want to feel like we’re there, meaning we would like to hear the ambient sounds. Shame.
To each their own. It was a personal and creative decision on my part to add the music as a classically trained musician. When you walk through the Biltmore, and as you are going through the guided tour, they play many classical pieces especially from the Bach era. I felt that a) there was too much conversation that wouldn’t have fit the video from myself and my family that I did not want in the video and b) I felt that classical music would highlight the time period in which the house was built. So, while you might not like it, I created this video for myself and my family and am happy with the result among many others as you can see. Thanks for your opinion as I do I try to take all feedback into consideration! Hope you have a magical holiday season. 😊
Video makes you sea sick! Bouncing around, camera jerking. You never land on anything constantly panning and moving. You are all over the place. Need to have a sequence of filming planned. Use a wider angle lens and use less movement. Video looks very amateurish! Keep practicing you will finally get it!
Thanks for having beautiful music and no talking! 👌

Not long after your filming, Hallmark would be producing "A Biltmore Christmas" which I watched this past Sunday evening. What a wonderful movie!
We went in 2021 and before we even left I told my husband we have to come back for Christmas some year. Thank you for filming this.
Goodness, they sure do put on a spectacular show for the holidays. Thank you.

My Aunt used to be Hostess at parties, for the last single Biltmore male in the family.
Incredible! Where do they store all these decorations off season? They must fill a barn!!🎄🎄🎄

6 million to build now equal to 102 million. I doubt you could come close to building it for double that nowadays even if they could.
