  • On Sunday, Chinese President Xi Jinping will come to Europe for the first time in five years, staying in France until Tuesday. Aside from the Ukraine war, technology - computer chips and green tech in particular - could be the most important talking point on the agenda. FRANCE 24's Peter O'Brien tells us more in this week's edition of Tech 24.

Unfortunately, the tech "expert" appears to be brainwashed by the US over the issue of Taiwan.
The OFFICIAL NAME of Taiwan is The Republic of China !
The split into two factions of China is the result of the unfinished Chinese civil war which resulted in the losing faction's escape to the Chinese island province of Taiwan.
Both factions do claim the other as "theirs".
In fact, for journalistic integrity, I invite the "expert" or his female colleague to check The Constitution in effect on the Taiwan Island. He and she will find that the Constitution claims the mainland part as part of The Republic of China, the official name for the government of Taiwan
China sees residents of Taiwan as brethren. Invasion will hurt the Chinese and benefit the Americans
THAT CHINA IS ABOUT TO INVADE TAIWAN IS PURE AMERICAN FICTION created for its own purposes.
    Don't be fooled!

I doubt Xi and Macron will talk about green tech much or even Huawei, because it’s a necessity if EU wants to succeed in its green policies and telecommunications advancement.

The rest of electronics application don’t need that thickness. A car can do with 14nm or 28nm of which China is the world leader in manufacturing. China can make 7nm which is used on latest Huawei mobiles. In the next two years it can make 5nm for its market which is the biggest semi conductor buyer/market in the world. Now with US IRA state subsidies policy it is building huge capacity by drawing out companies from its allied countries, this will build massive over supplies with fewer buyers. Ultimately price will collapse and the investment of chips will be dud.

The majority of the Chinese people want the reunification of the Republic of China and the People's Republic of China.
This is the second time China had to reunify Taiwan with the Mainland.
The first time was from 1642 to 1682 after a war that cost the lives of 500 000 people, and lasted for 40 years.
That war consisted of 11 Amphibious invasion attempts.
For 40 years the surging Qing Dynasty forces launched invasion after invasion attempts to retake Taiwan from the remanants forces of the declining Ming Dynasty.
No matter how many times they were defeated they kept coming again and again and again and again 11 x for over 40 years until they eventually succeeded.
So if any Western clown wants to get involved in a Chinese war over Taiwan they seriously need to ask themselves are you willing to fight a full scale all out war with China thst will last 40 years and will cost tens of millions lives of their own own people?
You are dealing with a country that fought 22 year wars, 40 year wars, 300 year wars.
any region which they see as an integral part of their country will fight ceaselessly and relentlessly for thst land.
They will never stop fighting until they succeed.
If you couldn't fight the Taliban for 20 years. How are you going to fight China for 40 years.
