I’m seeing a lot of CZcamsrs burning out trying to keep up who have decided to take the time they need to reset. Great advice about doing smaller projects in between the larger ones! Love the painting, sort of looks like you as a redhead!

This week was a week of small diy projects…new coffee station tray, new little h shelf for the linen/hall closet and replacing some bathroom trim. All three projects started with can I? I wonder if…the answer is yes. I cut down some scrap wood and all 3 prototypes worked. It’s been so fun that I think I’ll build my own storage solutions one version at a time. Keep practicing!
PS thanks for doing content. I’m from the title 9 generation and I’d like to say that this CZcams thing is even better than high school shop class ever was. Ever. Thank you again.

Excited for your bathroom later this year! I renoed my half bath/laundry which started as a weird little carpeted dump of a room, by ripping the room down to subfloor and studs, moving all the plumbing, adding a standing shower, then tiling every inch of the new space. Very intimidating project to take on as a solo diyer, but absolutely my proudest moment once it was done. I will say that giving in and hiring a plumber to do the rough-in was a great choice. Only thing I didn't do myself in the project, but dang is it good to have one thing up to code in the house 😆. Good luck with your bathroom!

The painting is beautiful. I could relate to so much of this video. My husband and I struggle to work together. Our strength and weakness compliment each other. Personally I think going to bed angry is a great idea. The truth is that most of the time when we (my husband and I) go to bed angry we wake up calmer rested and with a bit more perspective. If we are still upset in the morning that is a sign that the issue is really worth talking about and resolving.

Thank you for today, Dani. I’m a creator of a different sort - I write time travel sci fi, cozy mysteries and sweet romances. Different pen names, of course. Your message to slow down is a good one. Last week I took a whole day off, stayed in bed and binge watched The Crown. It was great. I was both well rested and grateful not to be ‘a Royal’. The next few days were so productive! Gotta love a day off here and there….
When I’m working on a big project and get discouraged, I’ll do a few smaller ones until I’m ready to continue the bigger one. Once I’m back at the bigger one, I have the energy and motivation to finish it.

We are doing our bathroom this coming summer and only have one full bath too. We are going to put in an outdoor shower to take care of the no shower for awhile. We have one at our cottage at Cape Cod and it is the most won derful thing to have for cleaning up from the beach or gardening or any other messes you want to not drag into your house.
I guess this means today I am going to break out my old water soluble oils that I've used once. So cool that you're also a fine artist!

One of my favorite videos of yours was the 5 calming crafts with clay. Although it would be hard to pick a favorite project you’ve done because you keep outdoing yourself. (I am also now inspired to figure out a bookcase door inset for a closet) But in that video I was drawn to your honesty of just needing to find a way to motivate yourself. Is there any craft/art you’d like to improve on (pottery, weaving, glass, photography)?
I’m a weaver and really love how the repetition of weaving, coiling, paper making helps me get through some internal discussions.
