DIY Concrete RainFall Fountain Planter Pot ⛲ Cement Craft Ideas

- In this tutorial, you will see how to make a waterfall fountain at home. It's a fantastic craft idea from concrete for indoor and outdoor decoration. To make this homemade concrete waterfall fountain I use mainly cement, sand and waste materials like Styrofoam. This handcrafted rain fall fountain can be used to add beauty to your garden. For water circulation, I used a submersible water pump. It's fun to make and you can use it as an awesome decoration. N°46
✅ NB: To prevent splashing and losing water, you should set up glasses panels .
✅ Supplies:
Styrofoam : 54 x 40 x 4cm (Qty = 4)
Wood Glue: White Glue
PVC Tube : Length : 30cm, Diameter : 15mm
Pipe end cap: 15mm
PVC 90 Degree Elbow 15mm
PVC Tube (for pump) : Lenght 25cm, Inlet Diameter : 6mm
Pipe PVC Glue
Cement: Ordinary Portland
Sand
Gauze Wrap: You can use also a "Cheesecloth"
✅ Plant: Chlorophytum
✅ NOTES :
1- Use a SAFETY MASK during cutting the Styrofoam with Soldering Iron or work in a ventilated space.
2- I drilled holes (diameter 3mm) at the PVC Pipe each 1 cm distance.
3- Make an epoxy resin coating for the fountain basin.. it is effective to prevent leakages.

5- the expiration date of the baby Johnson bottle I used its cap has passed.. :)
✅ The mix of cement contains:
2 cups Ordinary Portland Cement
+ 1 cup Sand
+ Water

Is epoxy resin better than acrylic resin? I used acrylic and its leaking

This was amazing to watch you make! I love the concept using styrofoam to mold then coating it with cement. Finished product was breath taking, when everything was added, it appeared as though it had always been there! Great eye, and I would say this is a masterpiece. Thanks for sharing!

Beautiful work. Love your ideas.How long is the durability on these? Like weather wise and the weight of the cement on the styrofoam.
If you want to be sure, I'd tape some hanger wire (the stuff used to hang false ceilings) on each side to give it some rigidity and strength and then cement over top of it. I imagine it would serve the same function as rebar.
The cement will detached from the polystyrene in a few days. Need wire mesh, or glass fiber between the 2 layers of cement
and waterproof paint to be durable.
Great idea. Just finished making a similar model. Instead of using Styrofoam, I used a similar type of insulation material that does not make nearly the mess as Styrofoam when cutting. Also, adding a concrete sealer after it dries gives it a nice texture and reduces cracking. Very cool...thank you for the inspiration!

Having that fountain pot would be a great way to solve my insomnia. I need white noise.
you can buy a white noise generator, they've been around for forever
@@joannecarroll5504 yeah but I'd rather listen to the sound of water :D
@@DrCalviny do check to get a really quiet pump tho. or you will hear the 'whiiiiiii' or 'bbbbzzzzzzz' above the tinkle of the water (now that is white noise too, but not the kind you want. i guess)
A last warning tho: water noise does tend to make some people nee dto use the bathroom a lot. So whether it helps your insomnia or that you will get up 8x a night is a gamble ;)
