VENICE is the Most POWERFUL Trade Nation! Eu4 1.35 (Mission Tree Only)

- Hello everyone! in today's episode of Mission Tree Only, we visit the nation of Venice, the Mediterranean Trade Republic powerhouse in an attempt to complete their mission tree in its' entirety without expanding outside of that mission tree.
Venice, is arguably the best trade republic in the entire game as their starting dev and position puts them in the best spot to destroy the Ottomans early on, take on the Mamluks, and Annihilate Austria all in the name of Trade and making buckets of ducats.
Unlike most of the Mission Trees that we have covered in this series, the Venetian tree focuses on becoming the dominate trade power in Egypt, Genoa, India, and Indonesia to divert all the trade to the Venetian trade node. Conquering Northern Italy is a must as it takes you down a path of destroying one of Venice's most dangerous threats, Austria.

What nation is your favorite for Trade?
The Netherlands since it has a good balance of trade expansion missions in its mission tree and their ideas reflect that as well
They're also in the English Channel, arguably the best trade node in the game. Also, their new VOC ships are even better for generating trade power.
unironically austria, you get both netherlands and venice node in first 50 years into game

switching to Dalmatia lets you keep the missions but you lose the unique government. but the ideas are just so much better it seems easily worth it.

Great video! 24:09 man sometimes the rewards on some of these older mission trees are so underwhelming, like its the last mission in that line and you only got a temporary boost to trade power and range?
That's what I'm saying, I liked about half the missions, but then the other half were meh. Especially that one and the plague one, which is a cool lore related mission
@@thechairmangames the plague one is definitely cool, providing a unique reward with actual history behind it is great. The trade mission would be better if it was a permanent modifier (maybe reduce its power a little to compensate) because it’s essentially controlling the richest trade areas in the old world, so why would that only boost your trade for 15 years?

Spain is quite good, ottomans/byz have good access to get trade to constantinople, russia is okay too (for trade I mean)
Constantinople and Novgorod trade nodes are both awesome nodes that can steer a ton of trade throughout Asia. I find myself choosing trade ideas pretty often as Russia

Genoa has the better goverment in the early, pure merchant republic beats venice special goverment big.
If you start with a 30 years random 4-4-4 dude as Merchant republic, it is a 6-6-6 ruler with 38, and he lives, depending on your save scumming from 38 to 50-90, so you get a 6-6-6 ruler from day 1 for up to 50+ years.
Before you start with a new 1-1-4 with 30 years old (you should relect on old rulers) on 3 years election cicle, which means,m he will be 6-6-6 with 45, and has again 50-90 to go, which means up to 45 years on a 6-6-6.
