- I found this lawn in a small town where it seemed like everything needed help. I knocked on the door with no answer, but spoke with the neighbor across the street to get some more info. He told me the owners moved out 5 years ago and have just been getting too old to keep up with it. They live a few hours away and city never mows the grass. So, I thought I could spend a little bit of time making it look better for the neighborhood and help the owners out the best that I can.

He is inspiring...3 year olds LIKE doing chores and yard work, when a patient adult does it with them. Using tools, learning about trimming or planting---cooking---all sorts of activities appeal to the little ones. When you actually DO them, with your Body, Hands, etc., it puts down a new neural network in their brains and bodies. Just watching stuff won't accomplish that. It stays abstract if all you do is stare at a screen.
I'm 62, and he inspires me. I can now weed wack and change the cord when it runs out. Lol ❤️🔥

It does my 75 year old heart good to see a young bright good hearted man working hard helping others to build up their communities again. I’d rather watch programs like yours than channels with young people who have nothing better than to tear down their communities.

I will never understand why cities and towns just leave abandoned houses to rot. Find the owners..make an offer and save them. You do a great job for the neighbors. Bless you.😊

Larger cities might be able to do that, but towns are often cash strapped operating on very thin budgets. Especially with increased urbanization. To me it's kinda sad to see parts simply abandon and decay.
because the money needs to go to ukraine and israel, not US citizens.

There isn’t a housing crisis
Part of it is just red tape and inertia. The other part is that people aren't willing to do the considerable work necessary to restore a house this far gone.

True. Why don’t squatters move into houses like this instead of occupied homes? They would have a roof over their head and no one would bother them.
@@alanyoder7629these houses are trashed usually and squatters would just ruin them further. Squatters need to be arrested and removed. It’s not like they’d have mowed and painted the place!

I used to be a lazy when it came to yardwork. After finding this SB Mowing channel, I became much more interested in proper yard care. My Family and neighbors have really started complimenting the way my lawn and trimming looks. I bet I'm not the only one that Spencer has inspired to step up their game. I always wanted to see the reaction of the owners when they return to their property to check on it and find it cleaned up so nicely. I’d bet there are some awesome reactions.
You never talk down or blame. You are an OCD person’s hero. The house is toast but the large lot has got to be worth some money.

Location kinda sucks, though - corner lot next to a through road.
I wonder why no landlords buy it and tear down the house and build a new one. If you could buy it for land value, I think you could make it pencil out.

Besides being a great mower/edger, SB is SMART! Uses a 'grabber' to pick up trash--> no accidental needle sticks/back injury prevention AND has ingenuity to problem solve issues that arise during each job. Love watching you...continue to stay smart,stay safe!
Seeing you run over all the wood and the mower still ran is the best advertisement for Bad Boy mowers.. I broke a spindle and bent a blade just running into a tall root I didn't see on my Cub Cadet..
The Bad Boy had a 2x4 jammed under it. It still cut even after. Most others would have cut lopsided as all get out. Great job as usual Spencer.

These houses are trash and junky and probably look like a mess inside - you would have to do a lot of repair and clean up.

I love my hat Spencer. When someone comments to me saying they know you, I'm going to take a selfie with them and send it to you. it is a shame to let this house die. im sure realtors have tried to buy it but now the roof shingles are laying on the ground. the house cant survive with its roof on the ground. shame. looks like a cool house and property.

Spencer I just wanted to say you inspire me to get my strength back so I can enjoy doing my yard again! I've been having issues with my legs now for the past couple of years, lost strength and on the brink of needing a walker, but you have inspired me to start doing some strength training on my legs also I can regain my ability to walk freely. I used to love working in my yard, but sadly got to point I couldn't anymore, except like I said now I'm working toward getting back to my to it! Thank you Spencer for an inspiration to me and many others I'm sure!
Seek the help of a Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT). They'll get you up and strong again. A DPT can recognize problems others can't.
I am always shocked and strangely satisfied by the before and after pictures.

If the man that owned those homes was still living in one of them, he would get charged for having an overgrown lawn. But since he abandoned them the town doesn't seem to care about them. Instead of helping him and getting the lawns cut at least. But glad we have people like Spencer who make the neighborhoods look amazing.

That was an amazing cleanup. The driveway, the front walk, the garage, even the house seemed to just appear as if by magic. So much back-breaking work and you do it without complaining-you do it for the neighbors-people you do not know. You are a great man. There is no sense of bravado in your work, you just put your nose down and humbly go about your business. Kudos to you , Spencer!

I have a dog that digs holes, and a few years ago my street was rebuilt. I have low spots all over the place that need more soil. And you have it! .....!

I can't believe how overgrown, wet, and muddy that yard was! There's a huge tree stump growing right in front of the garage door! That place hasn't been touched in at least 10 years I think. I understand now why they put drainage ditches in front of houses, because this one really needs a way to get rid of all the excess water! Great job cutting all those trees and cleaning up the entire yard Spencer, that looked like a LOT of work! I love the song at the end. God bless you and thank you for the work you do sir.
