I really needed to see this video I am disabled and I can only do so much in a day that I am not in pain. I never thought that at age 57 I would be in so much pain and I feel so much like a failure to myself and my family. I had worked hard all my life in factories and it took a tool on my body physically and with the pain mentally as well. I have so many issues with my back that the specialists have told me there isn't much they can do for me,so I live in pain mostly everyday,I have gone to different doctors and they all tell me pretty much the same thing. It is a struggle some days but our Lord gets me through!! Most people that never had any issues with this type of pain will see me and say oh you don't look like you are disabled but on those days I feel good enough to go out and do some shopping but for only an hour and I need to go back home and relax till my pain subsides again. Thank You for saying " You are doing enough" because there Re so many days I feel like I am never enough!! Hugs from Lancaster,Pa.😘💓

Two points that really hit home for me while watching this video: 1. When I had a house, I was a wreck getting it show room ready for guests. But I realized those guests are not as nuts about show room ready as I am, and are not looking in the places that I look. After they left, it was a tornado situation anyway. They never appreciated it as much as I did. But what they did appreciate were the feelings they had while they were with us. Second: we sold that big house and bought an RV to travel the US and see where we want to live. RV life at 6 months (which is different than when we first started) is very simple. Everything we thought we had to have and bring with us has been completely not necessary. We have REALLY gotten down to the basics. And we have learned that that is really all we need. We have learned to live with A LOT less, and it is so freeing... of our time, our head space and our hearts. More important things are coming into view now that we HAD to refocus. Living with less and DOING less has improved our family's life tremendously. This Christmas, we cannot have a lot of presents because there would be no where to put them, so we are having experiences instead. And the kids have asked that some of their Christmas budgets go to charitable organizations that they have become interested in. Living with less really does transform hearts and minds. Thank you for this amazing video. Hope you heal well and have a Merry Christmas with your beautiful family.

There are tears in my eyes right now. I have been sick since late April. Since late May I have had two hospital stays and one in a nursing home. I'm home now, recovering from "long haul covd". I have been sick so long I ran out of disability and fmla leave and lost my job.. I am still on oxygen, I've lost nearly all my hair, I can't walk to the bathroom or bathe by myself yet. All the household chores I can really do are to make phone calls, order groceries and pay bills online. My house is a disaster, except for my bedroom because I can clean it with a long handled swiffer. I have been feeling like a terrible burden to my family. Then you looked at me and said, "you are doing enough. You are enough." You will never know how much I needed to hear that! Thank you so much

I’ve realized in these few days, that all of the “stuff” that we think we need is just stuff. It’s all replaceable, but a life isn’t. None of it is important. I am so blessed that I am able to stay warm and be with my family, while others don’t have that anymore. It’s so heart wrenching to see what they are going through and I have felt a so much guilt. I’m a part-time teacher in the afternoons and I also have a lifelong physical disability of cerebral palsy. My husband is disabled as well with CP. I have often thought to ask you to please do a video for people who have physical challenges. I walk with crutches and use a wheelchair for larger distances and doing things around the house. Please consider doing a video for people who may have physical challenges and want to easily maintain their homes, clear the clutter, and make it beautiful. I love all of your ideas from dollar tree, dollar general etc. and enjoy these stores as well. Thanks so much for taking the time to read my comments. Your loving energy is beautiful. Thank you for sharing it with all of us!

I'm sending this video to my daughter. She's having a very hard time purging her sons' toys. There are so many the boys forget what they have.
Like your 20 minute clean thing, I schedule no more than five tasks a day. Complete one, take a break, and so forth. It helps there's just the two of us but we do have five (ugh) cats and they are hot messes. MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Just an idea, as a teacher, we appreciate good used “toys” such as Legos, building blocks, toy cars, animals, games with all pieces, puzzles etc. craft items. So perhaps you could ask the children what toys could be used by some of the teachers and their students.

My husband has been talking about this for a long time and we been doing this in our home plus he got his mom to do it for this very reason. After his brother passed away. It took us a long time and lots of hard work to clean his house out. And every since then my husband said he doesn't want to leave his stuff for his children or any body to have to clean. Plus like your saying it helps to live better too!!! We still have areas to work on , so thank you for the ideas here on your channel !!!!

I have started decluttering and donating to a local thrift shop. Less is truly more, and my "gift" to myself this Christmas ( and throughout the year ) is to live with less. Suddenly my space is starting to feel breathable again and I am so happy others can benefit from what I can't use or don't need. Also, when I now purchase something it has much more meaning and is valued when it is thought out beforehand. I love your videos, Kathryn, and I hope you feel better soon! I turned 70 this year so was motivated to begin new routines. A few minutes each day writing, making music, decluttering, reading a challenging book, etc. These tiny increments have changed my outlook on life, more moments of feeling I am walking in victory not defeat. The secret of success is giving myself permission to do only those few minutes. It is enough and it builds over time to real accomplishments. Thanks!

Hi Kathryn, I’ve watched your channel since before you were pregnant with Carson. I’ve learned so much from you; a few examples: quality not quantity and a place for everything and everything in it’s place. My Grandfather (maternal) is Swedish and death cleaning is how he lived. Growing up my Grandmother (paternal) was what I called an organized hoarder. My Dad is an only child and I always thought how much stuff he was going to have to deal with after her death. 12 years later and he is still dealing with it as I believe he has hoarding tendencies. My husband and I have one child (our son), and I’ve tried for years to get my house to a point that when my husband and I are gone that our son won’t have to deal with excess like my father is having to do. I guess the thought came out of not wanting to burden my son in the same way. When we moved into our house, I found a small attic space and vowed to pretend it wasn’t there. This way I would not put things up there that I was going to forget about and just take up space. To this day it has nothing in it. We’ve made immense progress over the years and are making progress everyday. Thank you for sharing your talents, knowledge and life with us.

THIS year 2021 I learned what it was to walk in another's shoes!! I had a BOOT on my foot from a open frautured left big toe, sling for a fully torn Right rotator cuff injury and right knee in brace waiting for full replacement. All at the same time!!! Hopping around and barely able to be self sufficient plus taking care of my special need adult relative...was so difficult!! I shed tears. Then I realized I could and would HEAL in time unlike others who wouldn't. THAT hit me and THAT reality made me Grateful ,Calm and Determined to be patient as I waited to over come it all. I'm healed from One of the Three. The Struggle is Real. The words YOU ARE ENOUGH Really get us all don't they!! THESE WORDS are HOPE!! Thank You Katherine!!! 💖 To Everyone who's struggling. Remember...YOU really are ENOUGH. ENJOY what really matters. Not a Spotless home or perfect present haul or trying to live up to UNREALISTIC IDEALS our Commercial Society shoves on us!!
