The Taco gets suspension! Finally. I should have done this a long time ago. ARB Old Man Emu BP51s all around with OME HD Dakar rear leafs, Camburg ball joint upper control arms, and some Timbren active off-road bump stops. I forgot to mention in the video, but we also installed a drive shaft spacer as well as a front diff drop. And for reference the OME resi mounts had a built in drop spacer for the front sway bar too. :D

Looks great! We’re in the process of upgrading our suspension as well!
I shoulda done mine a while ago. No regrets.
Running the same setup on my 2019. Took a little time dialing it in, need the bumps. Running 285 75 16 Yokohama Geolandars on Volks, i had to do a cab mount chop to clear. Running 4:88s & an OVtune brings the truck back to life after adding bigger tires!
What offset do you have?

That's pretty neat!
Pack some heat.
Looking good man, 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻❤️
My man 👊
i got this one on my 2014 trd sport. i regret not getting long or extended travel. to fit 33’s youll have to extend the lift to 3 inches and put on .75” body spacers and .5” wheels spacers. my 33s rubbed until i did both those things. i got 1 and done alignment bolts for like $80.
Just get a cab mount chop. No need for long travel or spacers. I’m running 33s right now.
How have the Timbren bump stops impacted rear articulation when off roading? I'm looking at adding these to my 2020 TRD Off Road as well. We did an ICON Stage 2 add-a-leaf but when we toss in the RTT temp, armor on the rear diff, rock sliders, 5 gallons of reserve fuel, and 20 gallons of water and all our camping gear we still squat a bit in the rear and struggle to clear obstacles. So I was thinking of adding these Timbren bump stops but would like to know how they impact offroading articulations in the rear. What are your thoughts so far?
The bump stops look bigger than stock, and they are, but they’re softer and they allow more articulation than stock according to Timbren and I believe that’s accurate. They compress nicely. With that said, these are not intended to help alleviate squat issues. These active OR bump stops are not meant to hold any constant weight. If you need more rear support I would recommend a stronger leaf pack. I’ve heard the exact same things about the AAL which is what lead me to opt for the HD Dakar set.
Looks great. What preload hight on the coilover did you set on driver and passenger?
We never did do an official measurement since they came off of a buddys truck where I knew his setup. Suffice it to say the fronts are not as high as they could be with the driver side being about 1/4” higher to account for the Taco lean. And both fronts have a 1/4” spacer on top as well. The rear sits about 3/4” higher than the front with everything that is shown installed/mounted in this vid.
Do u have any tubing with the 33s
a lot has changed since the forester days lol
You’re not kidding. 😆
Have your Dakars started to sag yet?
No sagging that I can really see, but I have not done any precise measurements. They settled slightly in the first few months, but I wouldn't call it sagging. I still currently drive it around with everything seen here on it.
@@HighjakSecondary I've read a ton of people say to just spend the extra money and go with the Deavers. On Tacoma world I've seen a lot of Dakar HDs flatten out. Glad to hear you're not having any problems. Maybe they changed the deisgn?
oh god is that drum brakes on the rear? welcome to 1970!
Lol. It most definitely is. #toyota
Clearly should have gotten a Casey's pizza. Then your tires can't pop.
I'm debating on replacing all 4 tires with Casey's pizza next time.
@@HighjakSecondary solid traction and if you get stranded emergency rations on hand.
Hijack88!!!!
Yeahhhh buddy! 86 :)
@@HighjakSecondary I meant 86 but my fat fingers are always getting in the way! Yea I love your 10mm Roland Special I’m building one because of your video. But also because I’m going to Alaska and I’m scared of bears.
@@DMHal01 Heck yeah! The 10mm Glocks are great. Great predator defense sidearm!
@@HighjakSecondary i hope so lol
@@HighjakSecondary Enjoy your tacoma theyre great trucks. Mine has 4.88 gears and VFTune for the regear on full Dobinson’s IMS, Durobumps bump stops, and OME UCA’s. The OME UCA’s are an issue though because the bushings are too short and it causing clanking when I reverse and brake. I was checking out your video because I’m interested in the BP51’s, I’m looking for offroad capable with Cadillac sponginess on road.
