Finally, someone covering the BarWarus furniture in depth
Zastava sells a full rail, and I've been happy with mine since day 1
Really different products. The UTG manufactured rail that Zastava sells is the chonkiest of chonky hunks of metal you can get. That said, it is well made, durable, tight fitting and seems to hold position for a solid zero provided you don't mind mounting your optic solution that far forward. It's heavy af which is pretty obvious just from looking at it.
I have been hoping for a long time that SAG USA would follow through an produce a Yugo chassis. Something like this Barwar system for a Yugo would be even better though.
The SAG chassis don't appear to be as reliable or durable as the Zenitco style systems based on anecdotal evidence.
The lack of compatibility is sadly still the biggest downside of owning a Yugo.
Its is heavy as hell. I took mine off immediately. Now it's collecting dust@raifsevrence
@@nohandle74 thats whats kept me from by a zenitco sporter rail. its like 2.5x times the weight of my current rail and does nothing special besides be russian
@@raifsevrence TWS has a full system (top cover and handguard) for the Yugo and it's been out for years! check it out, I had one an a yugo for years and I loved it! only sold it because I sold the rifle itself. highly recommend
Bought some zenitco stuff when it was relatively cheap, and sold it all shortly after.... nuff said....
Did the same with my B30
I used to be a big fan of extended handguards on AKs but they all are heavier than a San Antonio chick. I still have the Ukrainian KYPK extended guard on my WASR-10 and after a mag or two you really start to feel it.
Klay I'm in Louisiana. I know exactly how you feel with the heat/humidity. You literally are dripping wet even when you aren't doing anything but standing still. It really takes your energy away. It's why I don't get to the range much in the summer
Nah dude...7075 aluminum or BUST ..especially for that price...from Turkey 🇹🇷 😅
Admittedly, I cringed a bit with the 6082 Aluminum. I’ll have to see if that will effect a laser.
@@FitnFire Most AR-15 rails are 6061. Nobody questions Daniel Defense rails, and they're 6061.
@johnsheppard7175 another reason my Armalite tac16 was a better deal compared to my Daniel Defense MK18
The price is my main dig here...these should be 350 tops!
The price is a too much but... 6082 is perfectly fine as it has a higher tensile strength compared to 6061 which almost every AR-15 rail is made from. 7075 hand guards are not common in the AR market. Some also argue that the reflexivit and the ability to bounce back into the shape is better with the 6061 rails.
Hope to have one soon and will run some tests too. Good to see some decent Zenitclone now available
Very nice, but prefer the Jmac stuff for ease of install and can combine with gas tube wood. Your vids are always very helpful to the AK world😊😊
Free floating is a huge plus too
I had to do a shitload of fitting work on mine to get the rail parallel with the barrel, and install the front bayonet mount. I also noticed the "basis" hardware they supply is machined backwards, where the "T" nuts cam out of position as you tighten them. I had some OG zenitco hardware to replace it with and it works fine.
The MLOK slots being recessed into the rail causes issues with mounting certain accessories like lights. Dunno why they deviated from the magpul standard.
Looks really good with the triangle folder.
And even better with pt1
@@Krmt1337the wolverine?
Crazy harmonics with that rail you can hear it good in the video
I think it’s the triangle folder.
That's coming from the stock. It rings pretty good.
Not bad! Definitely something to look into.
next do TDIarms the x47k would be intersted to hear your opinion on their whole rail setup up aswell
If you think about it like wanting an mp5 and not wanting to pay HK prices and buying a perfectly serviceable great Turkish mp5 clone. Even more add the fact in this scenario that you may never even receive the hk mp5 because of sanctions. 99% of people in that situation would go for the Turkish clone and for all intents and purposes have a mp5 that is aesthetically and functionally the same for 1/2 -1/3 the price with no risk. This is even an easier decision because it’s just a rail not even a complete firearm. Paying for a name may do it for some but for those that just want the look and function this is perfect and honestly an upgrade in some ways. I’d rock it.
Some decent clones been coming out of Turkey and for decent prices. i love the look but $600+ is bit much imo although im sure it is worth it. Maybe if I didn’t already have a semi set up on my current Ak (tws setup) I wouldn’t mind getting it. Maybe next AK I’ll look into investing into this or even sureshot.
honestly for $600 I’d go sureshot. I really like their chassis system. I just wish sureshot US used the same design as the RU version.
@@Civiliansoldier762 just depends on the ak i get. I couldn’t at time on my psa but now they can but it requires some gun smithing on the rear trunnion which I dont trust myself to do especially with something that pricy
Great job 👍
Lonestar Love! Deep in the heart of Texas!
That’s quite a chunk of change. But I’m glad people are seeing the demand for these types of “clone” rails and actually making them.
Klay would you consider reviewing the TWS gen 3 dogleg?
I like the futuristic look of this rail. $600 may seem like a lot to some people, but if it's well made it's worth it.
Id like to see a comparison between this and sureshot
Looks great 👍 thanks for the video and this stuff will get on my short list. Right now I only have a Midwest industries Alpha built WASR I like it but it needs a friend or second alpha build in the safe.
Put the Barwarus full alpha rail on my KR-103 and Kenny likey! My hand rail has the picatinny already and install was about 45 minutes with filing and bumping the part into place. Wish I could send a picture
Great video homie
Well, I’ve bought plenty of Third Pin Threads gear and I love it, I would love to see you do an advertisement for ball sack razors lol
A parody ad would be hilarious
Great video
Hey, just wanted to send some info your way. That recoil rod needs more protrusion through the dust cover.
Fit the taper angle to get the necessary protrusion. As it sits now, about a quarter of the dovetail on the recoil guide isnt seated in its slot of the rear trunnion.
This will also provide more stability to the cover moving foward and prevent any cracking of the cover from that tapered surface beating itself against the cover cutout. Especially during overgassing of suppressed fire causing the bolt carrier to bottom out on the rod.
I think its just because he didnt run the bolt to fully seat it in the dust cover after he closed the cover.
@@DC4EVA no its an issue due to the fitment. You can roll through the tape to see it. You also shouldn't see the recoil rod jump into a
secondary position when closed then racked.
Movement from racking etc shouldn't be much to the eye. Its a thing. But shouldn't be like, an eight of an inch etc.
He changed the "recoil rod" as he called it which appears to be a required change. Likely to minimize wear of the aluminum the top cover when closing. I have to wonder if the replacement is also aluminum?
@@aaronfarnsworth7653 they are. Though this has nothing to do with the fitment needing to be finished.
Just like the TWS dust cover, the retention part of the recoil rod is a replacement piece that's tapered to hold tension down on the dust cover. These two parts are meant to wear-in together so that the dust cover maintains zero and rigidity throughout the life of the parts. Any sort of fitting to make the dust cover retainer to sit fully in the slot on the rear trunion would defeat that purpose.
The JL billet stuff from PSA is actually pretty good. I have heard of issues but only from people who bought a rifle that came with it preinstalled, I think if you install it yourself and torque everything to the proper spec its a great kit
I'll definitely be looking to get this setup in the future
Great review. I really appreciate all the extra work you put into this. Like you said, looks like a solid, Zenitco-adjacent product.
With the heat you experienced coming off the handguard, I wonder how usable it is for IR/laser setups. I’ll be sticking to my SAG chassis’, but I’d be interested in seeing its night-fighting capabilities regardless.
i fucking love your channel, been following you for years
🙏🏻
Thx for everything you do.. learned alot going on the youtube journey with you. Im rocking a m70 but have been really wanting to get a beryl 5.56. Thoughts between that or a fox 5.56?
I got my sport one and b33 right before the big invasion took place over there took the risk and got the biscuit. Golden khaki looks good on saiga 102! I’m very interested in the mlok
SLR Rifleworks makes some cool AK handguards and rails.
I have a Sierra Arms international build made back in 2004 with a Galil Ace left side folder(non bolt on, integrated into the trunnion and is NATO length) and a UTG quad rail and UTG quick detachable VFG with a battery storage and made to accommodate pressure switches. A phantom flash hider muzzle device. Built on a 1980 Romanian G all matching parts kit and original Cugir barrel as well. Tapco G2 trigger that feels almost identical to a ALT AKG EL trigger? Some 7 step parkerized process that left a satin zinc black finish. Every time I see something cool like this I grab that AK and besides the top cover (which I wouldn’t change because my dust cover has matching numbers) and think this serves all those purposes 🤷♂️ doesn’t look as new or basically like a free float rail on an AR but doesn’t add anything but weight and aesthetics? I was going to buy the complete Beryl for 2,000$…. Grabbed my Romy G build and aside from the top cover it is a quad rail too plus a pretty paint job instead of the 7 step park job on mine that isn’t bad looking but not shiny black like the Beryl or my WBP Jack Turkish Tiger Walnut paint job either. But the build was actually made for PMC for Iraq/Afghanistan for real combat purposes. Hence no shine to spot the rifle. It was $900 in 2004. Can’t imagine it’s worth now? It’s basically the AKM equivalent to the M4 with the quad rail load out. I think these things are very cool. Looks great. I’m not poor either but I buy AK’s for a reason. Because I love shooting them and they way they look. I have a Colt LE6920 FDE magpul SL edition and a Bushmaster M4. I can by an Armalite ARtac15 with a CMV CL barrel and free float rail including Magpul bus sights for 750$? I’m not poor…. Just practical I guess. I like most of my AK’s with laminate. Russian Red. Or original laminate that comes with the parts kit the AKM is built on. That Romy G build and my Draco are the only two “tactical” furniture AKs I own. Looks cool but it doesn’t do anything I need? I run an optic(sometimes) and a VFG on one and and angled foregrip on the Draco(because I can’t legally put a VFG because it’s a pistol) both can have optics mounted on a rail above the gas tube. Everyone has their preferences and I wouldn’t tell anyone else how to spend their money? 🤷♂️ Just me, got way too many AK’s and still look everyday to add another?😂
Oh and I meant you could buy a high quality AR rifle for the price of that furniture? The Armalite ARTAC15 with an mlok rail and CMV CL barrel. M16 bolt carrier and a 2 stage match trigger?🤷♂️
looks fire but you shouldn't use an optic with known parallax issues to check zeroing
Agreed
If they drop a B-10 type handguard I'll get one.
I would like to see Klay do a comparison between this Barwarus and the Midwest Industries Alpha. I can see the Barwarus came down in price but it’s still very expensive, I feel $599 would be a good price for this kit but I’m not sure how much it costs to manufacture. Wish I had money to go to Russia myself to import the real stuff, real entrepreneurial shit!
I like it and I’ll probably buy it.
I definitely plan on getting this and the psa zenitcopy. Still waiting for someone to make a 1:1 zenitcopy of the stocks
Barwarus sells out in a week lol. You should have an affiliate link, if you dont. Great video very informative.
I went for zenitco handguards with a barwarus dust cover rail
Tbh, the us could copy it down to the mm and exact material used and Russia couldn’t do a damn thing about it anyway…so I hope it’s better and doesn’t cost as much as Zenitco or….knights…
It’s definitely not going to be better, it’s probably Zenitco rebranded or manufactured on the same tooling just at a factory in Turkey
@IR_357 ur most likely right...cuz why basis rail when we have mlok? Might as well go keymod😂
According to the Texas weapons system interview that blue Jean did. The Russians took the TWS cover rail and made it into their own. Soooooo all is fair in ww3
@@caseysmith8831 there's no reciprocation between the nations and there never has been so it doesn't matter regardless. Russia doesn't recognize or honor patents or copyrights.
@lfaktore
of course the US could make exact copies, but nobody has and nobody will. It would cost a fortune to make that stuff here and the investment would never be recuperated. at least not in a reasonable or acceptable time frame.
@@raifsevrence It 's fun to read it under these videos .😅 In which the Bulgarian Arsenal , which deceived IZHMASH and did not pay for licenses and they put a clone stolen from Zenit on it .
Looks good ...priced way to high IMO
All these chassis are regardless of who makes them, I guarantee you it didn't even cost a fraction of what they are asking for to machine this
@@turnermd1302 not trying to justify price but also got to think about important and tariffs and all that bullshit. If it was made in America prob he cheaper
I might buy one for my pioneer sporter if it fits
Hey Klay. Is there something you have to make that triangle folder more grippy in the shoulder? Looks like I saw something.
I wish i would have bought this while it was on sale at kalash bash when he had it on sale but just couldn’t justify spending that much when i still had another week and half of vacation and that would have taken a big chunk of my vacation fund. If I was just coming down for kalash and then going back home or if I had more saved up maybe because I love the way this and zenit looks and would of loved to make my ak look like this. But for now I am happy with my TWS dog leg. Might not have that cool zenit look and just a poly hand guard but at least I can now mount an optic to my AK. Just when the time comes to upgrade my hand guard not sure if I want to go with the tws or midwest alpha. Kusa has a few options I like too but heard they might be going under so not sure about them as of now.
Buy it if ya like it. Don’t if ya don’t. Do what ya want and never mind the internet.
100%
I think it's neat that you can still burn your fingers on the handguard retainers! Staying true to AK design 😉
(It do be cool tho hehe)
Barwarus has upped there quality. I got the first rail they made and it was cast not machined. Just got the dust cover and it appears to be much better quality and its machined. Had the same fittment issues on my psa 105. Had the same issues with real zenitco on slr 106 fr and slr 106 cr. Hoping they clone the pt1 stock since that's the only thing I'm missing on all 3 of my alpha clones
I want them to make a shorty handguard and stuff for the vityaz/kp9 platform.
Checking in from Baytown, plenty hawt for June… RSB is one of the few places that stable when firing. Side of the receiver I think was a compromise, when they started side rails. Dust cover is flimsy and more of an AR compromise to appease the US market. Cool that they can hold zero, better than welding a rail on there like back in the day.
robert e lee HS 2006
Does Barwarusa make a leader kit replica? i sure hope so.
I've never fitted zenit I just beat the shit out of it with a 6lb hammer and the occasional screwdriver for the long rail and it works lol
Beat the lever down if you have to and it'll still at least go down.
Aggressive, bulged my bulgi reciever a bit ngl, but the zenit is interchangeable b/w platforms still which is good cause Garage AK legos is fun.
Hey, Klay. Love the videos! If it were between the Barwarus b33 and full quad rail and a sureshot mk3, what would you recommend? I’m trying to decide for my only and my go to AK, the mighty WASR, which has been heavily modified (14.5” P&W, DAG-13 combo block, ALG AKT, etc.). I like the idea of the accuracy from the supposedly free float SAG chassis, but the full length quad rail and b33 seems better for a duty/battle rifle. Does the SAG MK3 really help with accuracy in your opinion? And does the barwarus stuff seem sturdy and durable enough to be “duty” use? Thanks for any insight you have!
Edit: edited for grammar and punctuation
Sureshot if you're spending the money
I’d recommend the Zenitco and by proxy the Barwarus. I’ve owned both and the Zenitco has worked better for me hands down.
@@connorburnes7697 Nice and thanks for the input! I definitely think the Zenitco/Barwarus looks better, it gives off FSB Alpha vibes for sure
I would buy it.
I want the dust cover and the quadrail
Haha i ALWAYS slap em back in to try agin after a faulty primer strike! Haha havnt had one not go off the second time yet!
Do a review on the WBP Jack 5.56SR
Do these rails fit milled receivers? …curious, Bulgarian SLR 101 for instance
Some lady take a Zentico dust cover and mounted it to a RS regulate handgaurd.
What safety lever do you recommend?
Id buy
Love this video like all of your videos. I’ve seen you shoot the Zastava M90 quit a bit and wonder if you ever got an M70 because I never see any of your videos with “your” M70. And how do you rate the M70? Is it a gun you would ever compete with? Please share your take on it.
I made a short CZcams video with my name in the factory cerakote Battleworn finish because there aren’t but 2 videos I found with that finish. Both videos were made by Atlantic Firearms which is where I bought mine.
Again thank you for all you do for the AK community!
I know you asked him but,, I love mine. I ran it in kalashbash in heavy irons. Out of all my rifles it would be the 1 I'd grab in SHTF. She's a fat girl and considerably heavier than most of my others but its silky smooth, properly gassed, decent (double hook factory) trigger and for whatever reasons mags lock up in it smoother than any of my other 7.62 ones.
@@user-qo3yy9nv1u thank you for your feedback. This is definitely enough for me to feel confident about this gun. I thought it would my best shtf gun because I love AK’s the most. Especially where I live. This actually is my first “real” looking AK because I have several MAK90’s from the 1990’s and a Hungarian FEG neutered as well. I’m thrilled to finally get a real looking AK instead of a butthole stock gun from the ‘90’s. Again thank you for your feedback!
@@georgeazar6879 yep. So long as you know furniture isn't the same as most AKMs as well as the optics rail is different. They are "yugo" pattern but anything you want for an AKM you can find for a yugo. I also have the M90 in 5.56 and again ots heavy and has a longer barrel but adjustable gas system is nice and recoil is basically non-existent. It shoots softer than my 5.45 rifle. I've been very happy with zastava. I had a magazine issue with my M90 and they promptly send me 3 replacement magazines. Highly suggest. In a time where everything is over priced I feel like their products for the money has better value and quality. But like I said they are heavy.
It’s a shame they don’t have a B10M and B19 😭
I’m going to force this to fit on my SAM5
I don’t like IP theft, but it’s a perfect clone. It’s Zenitco compatible. It’s now the best AK furniture commercially available.
I mean zenitco itself steals IP from TWS. that button that locks the cover down is patented by TWS iirc
🔥🔥🔥
to be honest, I think the green M-lok looks better than the one that you suggest.
I think it looks bad ass and seems to be good quality based on your review results. If pricing comes down a little I might purchase in the future. I really wish we had a better political climate and could acquire the ZENTICO products. Hopefully we will get some sanity back in this world. Do they have plans for KP9 furniture??
Hey @ClayC047 I just got a riley defence rak47-mp. Added a holosun510c Gr. I really don't care for they length of pull,so I'm thinking of upgrading the stock, ima also a lefty, any recommendations?
Will the long rail fit an SLR107 with a Rifle Dynamics front end conversion
The long rail will not fit ak's with combo blocks
I think it looks awesome! But I only have one akm pattern and it's a little boi
What about SLR tho? I bought a fuller Phoenix and had them put the SLR on it. That wasn’t ungodly either.
nice video, can it be adapted to an arsenal sam7 sf ??
I've seen people do it
😮 having the 🙉ring of that aluminum is totally different
I got all lathered up on this till Klayco showed that it was not great at handling heat.
The reports on the MI Alpha system is quite different - reviewers seem to say it handles heat very well.
So now I am a bit skeptical. Really looking to transform my SAIGA to a top cover system but don’t want the heat.
SAG chassis would be your jam, or Occum defense. Mag dump and the Occum wasn’t heated up. Works very well.
Barwarusa Alpha rail or Midwest Industries Alpha rail?
Sweeeeet❤❤
I know they won't, BUT I hope they eventually offer an RPK option.
That would be cool to see
TWS offers an RPK option
I noticed you're using the Trigicon MRO, do you have any issues that optic? I see mixed opinions on it.
Can you use just the lower handgaurd w/ dust cover?
Yes
more options is good
Funny - I have an Armacon BS-150 side mount, which is an exact Russian clone of rs regulate, but for half the price (that was pre-war, of course)
Man
Now i really want that
Howd it do on a Zastava m70?
How much you has to modify scares me
What range is this
Dude, seriously????
Every single close-up picture of Larry Vickers and those Russian Alpha guys is running Texas Weapon Systems. And that special button was patented by TWS back in like 2012. Go watch the Blue Jean operator video that dropped a week ago.
I bought a zenitco handguard before the ban, so buying the dust cover rail seems like a good option possibly What do you think?
Sure why not, it should fit
I have the Barwarus dust cover and it fits my Zenitco hand guards.
I have the b30/b31 with the dogleg but I love the look of this cover but not sure if it's worth the swap if it's just aesthetic/$ wise. Anybody got suggestions?
imo keep the TWS. the zenitco/barwarus clones the TWS release button locking mechanism (in violation of tws's patent lol), for elevation but it lacks the side panel spring that locks it down in windage. I'd stick with the OGs of top cover mounts because TWS did it first and does it better. I run TWS covers and handguards on all my rifles and I recommend it to everyone I can
@@thecubansniper1 thanks for the info. Do you have any tips on bending the rear retaining flanges. I also tend to open, close and remove it often
That’s just ridiculous for that price! Thats few 100 short of buying an entire rifle !!
I wonder if its zennit but just branded differently🤔🤔🤔
Probably is dude, Turkey and Russia still work closely together and it would not be surprising. Why would Russia let Turkey a friend copy it's product which funds its military industrial complex lol somewhat of a long shot but Probably is dude.
It definitely isn’t. Zenitco is very clear they never licensed their product to anyone. They aren’t hurting for business either. These are pirated clones.
i might put the rail one on my wasr10. so i cant spray paint it. dont wanna spray my real zenitco on other AKs
Vibes aside, how does it stack up against a sureshot in terms of performance? (heat transfer, comfort, free-float(ish))
It doesn't lol
this is junk compared to the sureshot but the sureshot is extremely overpriced so do with that information what you will
Zenitco is superior to Sureshot. This seems to be a direct clone of Zenitco, so do with that what you will.
@@connorburnes7697 Why is zenitco superior to sureshot?
What is that annoying ringing sound? Is that typical of a full alpha rail or the dust cover? My RS Regulate handguard doesn’t ring. Otherwise, it looks awesome. I also like the connector that works like a hand stop.
It’s the triangle folder stock they reverberate when shooting making that ping clank noise
The front rail extension rings
And his ring
I’m pretty sure it’s just the steel target ringing, whenever he misses there’s no ring
@@damascene8777 I’m pretty sure it had that same ringing sound when Klayco was not firing while dealing with that round that did not fire.
The sureshot mk3 is the way to go.
Great review on this product. I think its a viable option to zentico at a good value. Plus, it looks tits 👌
what red dot is that sir?
I never paid attention to the prices of zenitco stuff before the bans, so I might be wrong here. Am I wrong or is the bawarus more expensive than actual zenitco pre import ban?
Actual Zenitco goes for 2-3x as much now.
Pre-war i got b10 + b19 from ivan for sub $200 shipped (sorry it's been 5ish years i don't recall the true price) but i believe it was close to $90 for the lower HG and $60 for the gas tube, the b33 dust cover was always around $220-300, so the price isnt SIGNIFICANTLY worse but its high, yeah
You have to wear gloves with all the metal hand guards. I would rather leave the wood on and put on a ME dust cover, the one with lock down on the rear so you don`t have to take off the rear sight to mount it.
The MRO is particularly bad to zero with due to the massive parallax shift
"Because CZcams" ought to be an episode of Black Mirror
Man I'm not trying to clone anything so I'll stick with the MWI alpha system for half that much lol
