The shelf under the desk folds up so you can save your shins!
I discovered that only recently. Obviously after recording. Thank you
I’m really not a fan of the curtains in the living area, rather have blinds. I love the two sinks in the bathroom! Thank you Josh!
That shelf under the desk needs a saw taken to it.
I would split the desk into a bookcase and a desk rather than combining the function.
I agree about that shelf under the desk. I also don't want a dual sink in the bathroom unless I have a partner, I hate beard hair in the sink as much as he hates armpit hair in the sink. I'm equal, if he can't shave in the shower neither am I getting in the shower to save my armpits so if theres 2 of us then yes 2 sinks are a must. Don't like the non road mode of this one. I don't like no camp kitchen. I'd like them to change out the regular thearther seats for heated reclining seats. I like the tilt bed in the master and that side room I'd probably use with the bed down for my two small doggies and my 3 kitties on top. Keeping their supplies on the upper shelves. I don't like the molded shower with a half seat either take it out completely or put a tilt down full seat in the shower. I like the curtain idea.just how heavy are those curtains? Will they keep out the desert heat of 115° at all?
I watched this floor plan in another video , the shelf in the desk does flip up.
I thought those under desk shelves could be flipped up and out of the way...
That's not a desk, it's a taco bar.
This RV is a brilliant design. I love the island dining table area and the desk. Everything you do in an rv is a tradeoff. If you add one more inch of closet space you take away from living space and if you add two inches to a pantry area it takes two inches away from counter space. I think they did a fine job in this RV. Personally I love the dark cabinets but my guess is the same unit with a light interior is also just as appealing.
*Turns out the shin-basher-desk-shelf actually flips up out of the way. I wasn't aware obviously and nobody mentioned it.*
Hi Josh! I like this one. I like the hidden room. I think it’s all nice Josh. No dinette is good. I like using the island in the kitchen or the desk by the window. Thank you Josh for showing this one.
Dual sinks in RV bathrooms are also something that wife and I find unnecessary and even waste of $ and space . . . Except . . . The way in which they did them in the Redwood 4120GK. Take a look at that bathroom!
Yep, deep 6 that middle shelf under desk, I actually like the colors !!!
I watched this floor plan in another video , the shelf in the desk does flip up.
I wasn't aware obviously nor did anyone mention it. That's on me really
ty for the heads up
@@JoshtheRVNerd no, I wouldn't have been able to tell just by looking at it 😁
YES!!! For reporting the type of slide system! Thanks!
You bet. I cant promise to always remember but I'll do my best
Baskets come out, and shelf lifts up to act as a desk, Josh.
THANK YOU for this - nobody here advised me of that. I didn't realize they flipped
@JoshtheRVNerd I happened to see a short video the other day. Also, I see that manufacturers still insult on putting tall windows where people sit. If you are sitting, the window could be shorter and cabinets installed above them. One can never have too much storage. Otherwise, we really like this unit.
Oops not insult. ....insist...
Love the window coverings 😊so much nicer than the blinds on mine 😊
Really like this. Hidden room perfect for doggos.
I could see that!
The opening the cabinet door into the toilet is a top 10 nerd moment for me lol.... and i agree, I'm a family of 5 and there has never been a moment where 2 people have been in the bathroom at the same time, absolutely pointless to me
agreed
Beautiful RV. Reminds me more of a home than an RV. They need to rethink the desk. No one realistically can use the desk the way it is. We bought a Salem View Platinum this year. I would have no use for the hidden room. That way they could move the kitchen back allowing more room into the main living area. Also on the bathroom, I absolutely agree with you!
turns out desk is totally viable and i biffed it
That shin-basher shelf? It flips up out of the way. Nobody told me and I didn't see it
I very much like this model. However, I’m not a fan of double sinks personally. Also, I’m fairly certain that shelf under the desk folds up to make space for your legs. Teaching you how to fish 😉
Hey Uncle Josh, I hope you're having a great day! I think this is a great fifth wheel, for its price point. The desk I like, if they cut out part of that shelf and put a support under it on each side so you still get a little bit of a shelf on each side you will have plenty of leg room under the desk and you save on scrapping your shins! I love the hidden room behind the entertainment center. The kids will think that they have their own hidden fort! They done everything right in this fifth wheel. The hidden room could also be a private office, craft room,or a decompression room. The bathroom has plenty of space in it and you don't feel like you have to streak to the bedroom to get dressed! I have noticed that alot of RV manufacturers aren't putting the toe flip up dust pan or the vacuum in their fifth wheels, an some travel trailers. Thank you Uncle Josh for showing us this fifth wheel and giving us all the information good and bad. Your number one fan and friend Leonard from North Carolina!!! #NERDHERD!!!!!!!!
A single sink in the bathroom maybe a little extra wide
Awesome floorplan with the living room slide-out that opens up the area for theater seating and a sofa💥and the breakfast bar that doesn’t unnecessarily take up the space of an outdated “Denny’s” diner booth dinette was so refreshing to see👍👍👍
This is impressive! Love the hidden room. That so cool. Love the office desk on the door side. Love all of the windows and they are on the door side. Like the colors. Love the kitchen. Very residential. I love the cabinets and storage. Love the huge bathroom. Like a nice home. Like the bedroom. Wish is had a xl vet fan in the bathrooom. Like the huge tv. Thank you josh!
One sink to one side away from toilet. Need the extra counter for use.😊
ty
Good video Josh
Overall a nice RV but yeah r3think the desk and perhaps that secret room👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍😊😊
Turns out the shin-basher-desk-shelf actually flips up out of the way. I wasn't aware obviously and nobody mentioned it.
21:55😂😅 I mean you could theoretically yeet wifey kiddos and even the doggo 😂😅
DO NOT yeet the doggo
That's where I draw the line
@@JoshtheRVNerd too late the doggo already yeeted himself
@@JoshtheRVNerd for some reason that dog loves being yeeted don't ask me why
Great video! We both work FT on the road and were looking for a fifth wheel for MONTHS and found this model back in March. We fell in love with it, ordered it and it gets here this weekend! For us the two different office spaces was HUGE! We're turning the hidden room into my husband's office and I am going to use the desk in the main area. I do agree with the bathroom vanity thought. Would prefer it had 1 sink with extra space and also wish the bathroom door was a slide cubby door vs the standard. It gets tight in that area. Other than that, we couldn't find another fifth wheel like this that gave us everything we needed under 40 ft!
Oh and one more thing, I wish there was an option when ordering to upgrade the solar package and opt into an air fryer instead of the oven. We have never used the oven in our current camper, just the range and then use our counter air fryer in it's place. I feel like getting rid of the oven and replacing it with an air fryer would be a huge improvement.
Purely being Nosey - what kind of work do you do?
@@JoshtheRVNerd I work on the communications side of clinical research and my husband is in vendor management and is in the marine reserves. Thankfully we can work from anywhere as long as we’re willing to work east coast hours and travel to work events once in a while.
I just bought one of these. It’s beautiful inside sold us
Awesome! Hope it treats you well
Overall I love the look of the interior. I’m not a fan of the curtains-if these are thermal/sun blocking, they are going to hang *funny* because they are short and don’t have enough weight to let them hang properly. That being said, maybe a mix of curtains and roller shade could work. The kitchen is nice, but lack a bit of counter space. When you talked about the “secret room” being a ginormous pantry, my eyes lit up! Storage is always a premium in a trailer. This would afford an owner to have places to put those extra things you don’t need every day like a pressure cooker or crock pot. I like the desk set up, but that knee knocker shelf has to go. And normally I don’t go for counter height seating, but this actually seems to work here. The bathroom only needs 1 sink. Then you would have more counter space and storage. And can you imagine 2 people actually standing in the bathroom together? The bedroom is very nice, and the option to have either a washer/dryer combo or a side by side set is nice. I do think that 2 units would take up a good deal of the closet space. This unit would work very well for my husband and I.
yeah the bath isn't for me but overall I like the general living space
Love this, and the desk is very functional too! I use a large monitor, but I’m curious where or how I would store and secure it during transit. I’d love to see a large pull out desk (on drawer hinges) in front of that big TV instead. 😊 That hidden bunk room area is pure perfection!
TY Erin!
I love it
I LOVEEEEEEE THIS! JUST LOVE.......❤
☺☺☺
Google "Alien Monster" and choose images. Yeah...that's the image that came to my mind, immediately when you showed us the face of this camper. 😱
lol
One sink !!!!
ty
As an RV transporter, one thing about Forest River units is that they seem to be adverse to putting upgraded pin boxes and suspension systems on their units. It makes a huge difference in my job.
I could imagine that. It varies by their brands. Most of their high volume stuff don't tend to have upgraded running gear/pinboxes
Stuff like rockwood is different of course
Thanks Josh for all of the reviews, you do a great job! For this fifth wheel, I love the actual curtains…I really don’t feel valances are a necessity…they seem to make a room look smaller. And I agree with you, one bathroom sink is all that is needed. Love the hidden room, really glad they have A/C and windows that open, wish it had a vent fan. We live in Alberta, Canada and don’t always need A/C but need air flow. Keep up the good work! Bernadette
TY!
I like 2 sinks. BUT I've also got a family of 4
I really like the curtains better than blinds as long as they are of the black out type. ( Side note cheap magnets slipped into the seams will work to prevent curtain gapping). One sink in the middle all day every day. Carpet in the bedroom is not a deal breaker but I would prefer a couple small rugs on regular flooring. I would install a post under that hanging rod in the closet just because lol.
ooh good tip on the magnets!
Not worried about not getting to fridge, we have a good ice chest to keep in the truck for travel food and drinks.
that works!
Love this! Seriously LOVE this - the desk is EXACTLY what I need for working/ creativity on the road. And the dining island is great too. But ugh - hate the curtains - they look messy and when closed, looks like bedsheets are hung on the windows. Would much prefer simple day/night shades. Other than that (and the double sink), I think this is nearly the perfect unit for me! ❤❤❤
Thankfully window treatments aren't difficult to swap around
Never understood two sinks in an R.V. bathroom - storage is always better in my opinion.
I don't disagree
#RVNerdHerd 🎉 😊 🎉
One sink--definitely. Who has two people in that bathroom at the same time?
i agree
I like the impression that I get
:)
I really like the kitchen, would like to see this in an RV without so much window, none of these View trailers would be comfortable in even moderately hot or cold weather. Not a fan of wicker baskets everywhere either, I can imagine what they would look like a year or two down the road.
I ‘m not a fan of islands, but that’s a better use of one than just counter space and cabinets. I would prefer the storage area out front was converted to a desk and we would use the bunk room for bikes and dog crates. A clothes rod could be installed for extra hanging space, too. One bathroom sink is fine with us.
I do really like that setup
Re: The island - what if, what IFFFF the “dining” end of the island was actually separate and had the ability to telescope up and down?! Reason: Full back stools are unarguably more comfy than backless. However, my only gripe with dislands is that the stools tend to make the space feel cluttered/clustered particularly when chairs are also in the room. If we telescoped the disland, we can skip the stools during dining and just bring out the factory folding chairs. Not dining? Telescope back up to island height and use as prep.
I don't hate that.. actually I rather like that idea of allowing the seating-portion of the island to adjust up/down
@@JoshtheRVNerdA Josh-endorsed idea, yes! Look Ma, I made it! I should buy a lottery ticket.
That's a great room for my pets to get away from visitors.
You appear to be much more rested on this video. On a different note, my wife and after 8 months of research bought a 2024 Flagstaff Classic 826BHS.. Three weeks ago this model wasn’t even on our list as the information I was looking at was for the 2023 model that didn’t have the small dinette. I actually found that to be extremely roomy and comfortable for my aging, portly dad bod.
Now its on to accessories…. And campground reservations.
As always thanks for what you do! The education you have given me has helped immensely in our search.
There are times I go thru burst recording a metric crapton of RVs and its physically demanding
and sometimes I've been back on a normal swing of things
@@JoshtheRVNerd, I tip my hat to you. The amount of information you put out on a weekly basis is staggering. Do you do all of the post production work yourself or do you have help with that? Either way this level of content is extremely time consuming even to do just one let alone several per week.
Looking at the nose cap on this bad boy.......Are those jet engine intakes? Are you safe????
Love the windows in this one!
blink twice if the reptilians are forcing you to do this
@@JoshtheRVNerd They are THE WORST!
This is very nice. I like it! Multiple desk spaces are welcome. One thing wasn’t clear to me, is this aluminum or a stick and tin frame?
So the funny thing about that - like almost every fifth wheels it is a mix of both
Most people will say "Aluminum" but that could be just the sidewalls
MOST laminated-wall fifth wheels are still stick-built in some areas (sometimes in 2/3 of them).
So the answer depends on where you're looking
• Walls? Laminated/Aluminum Framed
• Floors? Laminated/Aluminum Framed
• Roof? All Wood
There are a lot of similar size/class fifth wheels with only laminated sidewalls and stick-built rear/front/roof/floor
Not trying to be difficult. Helping you learn how to fish vs just handing you half of one
@@JoshtheRVNerd I learn something new everyday…this is why I come to your channel! And for the Doug jokes.
I hope that secret room has a really good lock. Lock the little devils in and then enjoy your vacation, just kidding so don't anyone get your undies in a bunch.
I'm in the one sink camp
same
Love the different use of space, however:
If it is a desk, eliminate the shelf. Otherwise, lose the chairs and provide more baskets. The use needs to be defined.
It is a "View" with lots of windows, yet no window in the door? Seems like a miss to me.
Flip open tabletop storage is great until you have stuff all over on it and have to clear it off to get into it.
Power outlet by the kitchen sink, right where I need it most! (Sarcasm)
Not to be all negative, I do love the dinette/island!
Turns out the shelf flips up and I wasnt aware. That's on me
I question the decision of having a swinging door on the bathroom. If my wife is putting on makeup and I go busting in there, I'll end up squishing her against the counter. They should have at least had the door swing outside of the bathroom or better yet, used a sliding door. That and yes, the dual sinks is mostly useless in this model unless you can stretch enough to brush your teeth while using the toilet at the same time on that left sink.
Your critique of the carpet and largely unreinforced clothing bar is well warranted. Clothing can be deceptively heavy and with bouncing down the highway, it will put a ton of stress on those screws holding the middle up.
Dude this fifth-wheel is AMAZING. TBH.. the Taz-Lights ALONE would make me buy this! 😁 (except the dual sinks is a deal breaker it's so wasteful and dumb. You're a couple or married! What the Flying Fajita Farting Friday Fumigator do you need two sinks for? especially one right over the toilet.. what are you supposed to straddle the throne while you brush your teeth especially if you're well n/m you get the idea. the ONE sink in the middle would have been perfect IMO.
I applaud the uniqueness of the RV, but they just try to do too much with the living/dining area. It's too crowded for a 38' trailer.
The hidden room just doesn't do much for me. I'd rather have that space available in the living and kitchen area.
yeah those hidden rooms seem to be love/hate
And I think that's fair. They're not for everyone
What has the manufacturers done to fix -prevent frame failures if anything?!?
I'm curious - have you heard of Impression having frame issues? It's not something affecting every brand
I'm not aware of them having problems myself but I may not be in the loop
One sink
The vast majority of husbands and wives do not share a tiny bathroom at the same whether it be to shave or to do their business😂so ditch the sink next to the “terlit” and give the girls some extra counter space for their lotions, hair dryers and curling irons😂
Bath fan...get some Fsbdeeze.
The pseudo desk area is a fail in my eyes. Bulky black chairs at the kitchen island is also unappealing. Perhaps stools might better serve the area. I do like the quirky decor. Since there is a room hidden behind that wall it might serve the visual appeal positively by using a brighter color. I love the medium grey but it needs open space and ample lighting to work. It feels a bit dark and closed in.
No carpet for us with allergies!
👍🏻
Not a fan of those drop lights. I want a real table and chairs. Ditch that shelf under the desk that needs to be a real table and chairs. Scarp the wicker baskets over the sofa and put some cabinets in them. Looks like the edge on the hinge side of the fold down bunk is falling apart. I'll bet you could install a regular heater without it taking up all that room with the fake fireplace. Double sinks in a house is a waster of space, even more so in an RV. I can see replacing the counter top with a single sink. I would rather a Queen mattress.
Love the interior; but, would remove the shelf on the desk and the fireplace.. The island dining is prefect. Double sink in an RV bathroom is a waist of space and weight.
See pinned comment. That shelf flips up thankfully
How much is this fifth wheel
Go to the availability link in the description of the video. It will take you straight to their website page for this.
Can you up grade fan in bathroom? I'd rather have a bigger fan .😊
Not from the factory but our local folks can assist with that
Do not like the double sinks in the bathroom. How much space is in the cabinet behind the mirrors in the bathroom?.
We have Salem Hemisphere Elite 34RL. The next project is to take out the double sinks and put in a single larger sink near the door.
Also, will be removing the dual round mirrors and build a cabinet with mirrors like in this model. That is why I would appreciate a picture.
Do not like the wicker baskets all over the place. Would prefer cabinets with doors over the love seat in the back.
I don’t have a measure of the cabinet sorry
One sink in the middle. Being a bunkhouse, I assume a kid will need help brushing teeth and the door will be open. So you need a single middle sink so child A is pooping, child B is brushing teeth, and child C is back in the pantry eating marshmallows, while the parent scrolls instagram from the hall....Also also, shelf under desk is worthless since it makes it not a desk, nor does it work for litter box or dog crate.
That scrolling Instagram felt rather specific
The whole thing did really lol
Get rid of the hidden room and open the space up. Split the desk into a bookcase/desk. That shelf kills the function.
Shelf turns out to flip up and I didn't notice it (nor did anyone mention it)
I think its safe to say this RV leaves an impression on people.
I apologize for nothing
you owe no apology
Hidden room is kind of a waste for us. Different strokes for different folks.
I totally respect that
Booo 2 sinks 😝
The lack of symmetry in this design hurts my brain. The lights aren't centered over the island, the backsplash just comes to an abrupt end, the towel rings in the bathroom...my wife says she hates the curtains, the white is going to get so nasty over time of open and closing with dirty hands.
I don't think this one is for us.
fair enough!
I'm wondering if we could name the tyres that less than ideal with their brand name or just call them 'off brand'. there are plenty of US made tyres that are terrible. it's less about where they come from and more about the brand itself. We have got to remember that europeans have the same level of suspicion for US made things as yankiddodles have of imported goods. One small step against nationalism? :)
We love the info dude! Just dont quit your day job cause your jokes are cringe worthy!
oh they're terrible lol :)
...and come on, nerd, you KNOW women need a MONTH of clothing for a get-away weekend! it's standard. 🤣😁
OMG OMG OMG I LOVE LOVE LOVE the secret room! We have 3 cats and have always needed a room for litter boxes. It would be great for that and some storage. I like the curtains, I would still put some frosted mac tack on the windows for privacy at night. Only 1 sink in bathroom close to to right end for more counter space and get rid of the door by the toilet. I would get rid of the chairs at the island and fix the desk to put a proper desk chair there. Slide toppers would be great. It does need shelves by the bed for coffee and someplace for CPAP. Personally would like a tub. But thats me. ❤❤👌👌 But we will never be able to afford the $83 995 price tag plus tax. 😥😥😥😥
that might be MSRP but that's definitely not the discounted purchase price for one of these thankfully
