That thing looks sick! I love that the body is just a simple, real looking truck instead of some absurd, hybrid looking, feaver dream design. You can tell how smooth that thing rolls and steers from here! I love those Ovonic batteries. I have a 5200 2S that I use in every single RC that I own (besides the Sand Scorcher cause it DONT fit) For the price, I should have more lol

I rock the Redcat Kaiju, and I'm right there with ya Guy, this thing is the 1/5 Kaiju! Once you/the 3d print community/or Redcat fixes that battery tray oversight, that thing will be something special, stock! I did check out the exocaged rc and saw he had a great time with the hoobbywing 5690 ezrun, direct plug and play, I'm thinking if you wanna see 50 mph, that motor and a different pinion, and that thing will smoke those roads!! I'm convinced, and definitely want one! Keep up the great work, its been a blast watching!
My BigRock 6S is my most used RC. I really enjoy it. My LHS is a RedCat dealer and I just asked them to LMK when they get more of these in stock. They had 3 and they all sold in 1 week !
I like this RedCat much more than other models. I hope you update so that it reaches more speed. That type of truck has to be more aggressive in speed. All the best. 👍
I just think it's great Redcat is releasing some quality stuff. They're the company I want to love but they don't always make it easy! For me this one's a little more than I wanna get into but I'm looking forward to anything else they may have coming down the pipeline.

Im with you on this GUY this has instantly become my favorite RC that I run. Its just absolutly a blast to run. Very agile for a large scale and I absolutley love the look of it as well. A few tweaks and my other cars will collecting dust for a while lol.

From videos I’ve seen it seems to have the stance of a 1/5 outcast but a lot lighter so it handles great. I’m gonna have to get one in a few months- I’ve got to save up.
Maybe look into hobbystar 7200mah 100c packs from rc juice. I use them on alot of my rigs. Strong battery great run time . I have at least 10 of these packs with lots of cycles never had an issue with them and have been running them for years.
I agree they need more competition so there prices can drop a little I don’t mind paying but u know …..this vigilante is a beast I do love it but sometimes I have to stop bashing 16:59 cause something as simple as there screws and I have to rig or wait a week hopefully it will get better
45MPH is perfect for this RC. With any additional power, this thing may literally fall apart with screws loosening, etc. I have to have this truck for sure anyway lol.
Yes c rating is your nitrous hit right off the line with no consideration for tires or your engine where MAH gives you that bigger gas tank to push the speed further 👍💯
mAh rating is battery capacity has nothing to do with speed, a larger capacity battery cannot provide more power (i.e. voltage) to the motor. I don't know where you get this idea. Ask an engineer, you are wrong. More C rating will not provide more speed, as C rating is set at minimum and maximum by manufacturer, and the only thing you as a consumer need to do is hit the minimum C rating for your motor\esc, otherwise your ESC will draw so much volts from the battery, and will see the voltage drop as LVC and ESC will cut out due to supposed LVC. Go on any RC forum and tell me I'm wrong. Because you'll see the same info there Please don't ASSume things or believe what Rando P. McMurphy tells you and then spread that fake info around.
Ik it’s not correct to use them together esp under a high amount of load “full trigger run” But in a pinch like your situation i found lightly spreading the copper on the ec5 male side helps with connectivity. I take a razor blade of control screw driver and lightly speed where the male prongs are split like a star. Been a master electrician for 22 years and rc longer i feel for ya bro i’ve fried a few connectors when running hard with ec5/xt90’s plugged in together. As always thanks for the content guy been watching for almost 2 years now.

Man I messed up and ordered a new 73kg jx servo, and don't even need it because I just tighten up the servo saver and now it turns so sharp and fast on load !!! Well I guessing have a spare if needed!! Lol
How about moving the Center chassis stiffener from the left side to the right side and the other one from the right side to the left side so their angled upward instead of down so you can fit your batteries in the battery tray better?

I found out what’s the issue with the center diff bro they need a company to build a aluminum diff case the plastic is getting to hott allowing it to expand just enough and it’s over imo

Dont listen to this guy man, this Redcat isn't even in the same league as an EXB Outcast V2 or Kraton V2, maybe the V1 but not the updated version hell no. The Redcat is slower, has way less power, is not as durable, and is just flat-out not even close. If you dont want to spend 1,000.00 USD on an Arrma then get the Redcat its better than the Xmaxx even with screws coming loose etc, just dont be a moron and waste your money on a Xmaxx, you've been warned.

So the c rating on lipo packs is complete bullshit. Manufacturers print any old number on there now, some of the claims are absolutely insane. Lipo cells are produced by a small number of factories in Korea and China, and all of these cells are purchased by battery companies to build into packs. In very rare cases, some factories will enter into discourse with specific manufacturers about specialist cells, but this is usually down to shape. The reason it went faster is because the capacity in insanely huge at 9000mah. Even if the cells can only pull 50C in reality (very few can pull more than this, we don't have the battery technology) that's nearly double the amo supply of the smaller packs. Hence less voltage sag and more speed. 💪💪

Crazy to think about it.

Okay this is a very very tough one to answer and I mean that wholeheartedly. The MTX takes more to drive however it's a smaller scale I've had zero issues with battery packs being able to install almost anything within that 3S x2 range. Zero breakages and just an overall blast. The Vigilante Is obviously the new kid on the block It is a fifth scale It's actually very easy to drive and because it's larger like my son had said in the other video it just will handle things differently because of its footprint. Between the two It's a very tough choice and I'm not sure that I could make one unless where I take it is the constraint or where I can take it if you get my meaning. The vigilante very surprisingly handled the skatepark like a smaller scale RC because it's so agile but that's also where the MTX comes into play because it is smaller for transport to wherever you take it. See what I'm saying? Both are very built trucks both depending upon where you live You just need to make sure you can get parts I won't have that problem as my LHS hobby quarters in foxboro is going to stock this truck along with its parts. The MTX for my location is online only but it's no big deal because I have other RCs to drive while I wait for any parts if needed. Long winded but man you really hit a sensitive subject
I have the truck I do like it but I’ve had screws come loose and I loose them I’ve had a tire come unglued and a suspension arm broke and the parts take a week or so to get to me I also have the Xmax and it’s lighter and it’s stock except for going wide with it and I’ve owned it longer and haven’t broken anything I did spend a lot more but it never lets me down so in my opinion
I would too but if you know anything about New England weather and my locations that I drive in everything is soup and with a big truck like this I am not interested in the cleanup just yet dryer days are coming. XO cage and thunder RC have put out great videos Go check them out if you haven't 👍💯

I will answer you this question within the given time frame for both as driven out of the box. Does that sound fair? The only thing that may be considered unfair is maybe my skill in driving might be a little bit better now but that's debatable.
So the out of the box experience feel with the X-Maxx was not a good one. The out of the box experience feel with this Vigilante was better. Both of my rear bearings blew out on my X-Maxx on I believe the first pack. Both steering knuckle screws for the vigilante were not loctited therefore one fell out almost lost and the other one was loose This was lucky. The Vigilante drives way better than the X-Maxx but that is just my opinion and I don't believe that has anything to do with skills. The parts for the Traxxas I can probably purchase at the local gas station. Parts for the Redcat at this moment in time are available online so I'll have to pay for shipping versus paying for driving to and from. Is a lot of things that people seem to miss or not take into account. I will say The Traxxas MONGREL-X that it was converted to is an awesome truck but still consistently slips its pinion no matter what I seem to do I do know that this is an alignment issue. The Redcat time will tell but just my initial impression the Redcat Vigilante is knocking it out of the park versus my experience with the Traxxas X-Maxx I had. Oh yeah I also had the motor pinion side bearing issue and that was two and a half packs in I believe 🤷
😭 When you really want one, but live in England where you can't get hold of Redcat rc's or parts easily. Have to make do with crummy arm 1/5ths and their shoddy a-arms that break to easy. I hate traxxas for what they've done to other companies with b.s. lawsuits. So not getting an xmaxx or slash. Just gonna go cry. 😂
So it obviously does great on a road but if I buy a 6th scale truck for me it's going off road. So I'm wondering why you're comparing it to x maxx and others? Until you beat it like a red headed stepchild I'm not overly impressed. Let's see some jumps and bumps thats what trucks are for.
Because the comparison that I am doing is pretty much what I've done with my X-Maxx when it was one. New England weather at this point in time has been too wet for the locations that I run my RCs and I'm not interested right now given how much I'm working and spending all of that time cleaning That's why the content is rather bland. Once things dry up you better believe this thing is going to take a thrashing at Diamond Dust 👍💯

@@rcguygarage well, if you think about it, if those gens ace 50c 5300 packs are experiencing voltage drop at the amps being pulled on the Redcat which is a 160a ESC (understressed at that as it doesn't even get hot) maybe being 70% stressed so probably around 120a flat out (can tell you that that is a massive overstatement as well) then those Gens Ace are a real 20-24C.

Okay this is a very very tough one to answer and I mean that wholeheartedly. The MTX takes more to drive however it's a smaller scale I've had zero issues with battery packs being able to install almost anything within that 3S x2 range. Zero breakages and just an overall blast. The Vigilante Is obviously the new kid on the block It is a fifth scale It's actually very easy to drive and because it's larger like my son had said in the other video it just will handle things differently because of its footprint. Between the two It's a very tough choice and I'm not sure that I could make one unless where I take it is the constraint or where I can take it if you get my meaning. The vigilante very surprisingly handled the skatepark like a smaller scale RC because it's so agile but that's also where the MTX comes into play because it is smaller for transport to wherever you take it. See what I'm saying? Both are very built trucks both depending upon where you live You just need to make sure you can get parts I won't have that problem as my LHS hobby quarters in foxboro is going to stock this truck along with its parts. The MTX for my location is online only but it's no big deal because I have other RCs to drive while I wait for any parts if needed. Long winded but man you really hit a sensitive subject

I have the truck I do like it but I’ve had screws come loose and I loose them I’ve had a tire come unglued and a suspension arm broke and the parts take a week or so to get to me I also have the Xmax and it’s lighter and it’s stock except for going wide with it and I’ve owned it longer and haven’t broken anything I did spend a lot more but it never lets me down so in my opinion
And that's why it's good to have a choice Chevy Ford Dodge and maybe throw in a Toyota in the mix. 👍💯 Traxxas makes good vehicles

I will answer you this question within the given time frame for both as driven out of the box. Does that sound fair? The only thing that may be considered unfair is maybe my skill in driving might be a little bit better now but that's debatable.
So the out of the box experience feel with the X-Maxx was not a good one. The out of the box experience feel with this Vigilante was better. Both of my rear bearings blew out on my X-Maxx on I believe the first pack. Both steering knuckle screws for the vigilante were not loctited therefore one fell out almost lost and the other one was loose This was lucky. The Vigilante drives way better than the X-Maxx but that is just my opinion and I don't believe that has anything to do with skills. The parts for the Traxxas I can probably purchase at the local gas station. Parts for the Redcat at this moment in time are available online so I'll have to pay for shipping versus paying for driving to and from. Is a lot of things that people seem to miss or not take into account. I will say The Traxxas MONGREL-X that it was converted to is an awesome truck but still consistently slips its pinion no matter what I seem to do I do know that this is an alignment issue. The Redcat time will tell but just my initial impression the Redcat Vigilante is knocking it out of the park versus my experience with the Traxxas X-Maxx I had. Oh yeah I also had the motor pinion side bearing issue and that was two and a half packs in I believe 🤷

😭 When you really want one, but live in England where you can't get hold of Redcat rc's or parts easily. Have to make do with crummy arm 1/5ths and their shoddy a-arms that break to easy. I hate traxxas for what they've done to other companies with b.s. lawsuits. So not getting an xmaxx or slash. Just gonna go cry. 😂
So it obviously does great on a road but if I buy a 6th scale truck for me it's going off road. So I'm wondering why you're comparing it to x maxx and others? Until you beat it like a red headed stepchild I'm not overly impressed. Let's see some jumps and bumps thats what trucks are for.
Because the comparison that I am doing is pretty much what I've done with my X-Maxx when it was one. New England weather at this point in time has been too wet for the locations that I run my RCs and I'm not interested right now given how much I'm working and spending all of that time cleaning That's why the content is rather bland. Once things dry up you better believe this thing is going to take a thrashing at Diamond Dust 👍💯
If you cant be bothered to even get the right connectors on those batteries then dont bother complaining about the packs not fitting lmao
