For auto pickup there is a mod with a key to turn it on and off quickly just for this reason

Okay so, looking into it. Auto pickup has a keybind. So you can turn it on and off at will. So you can turn it off when you want to plant.
What's the key to turn it off?

THANK YOU! I just downloaded my first mod, Camera Zoom. I get motion sickness easily & being so zoomed in literally made me ill. So my hubby found Camera Zoom & told me to download it, but I had no idea how to do it. Tried someone else's video first & it was not helpful, but yours worked for me. Appreciate it!!!

Nice video 😀First link doesn't work. But choose the second link and find the mod you want (like for example Dinkum better vanilla). On there is a tab "requirements". Press it and you will find the BepInEx file, press on it and it will download. (tested it and it works on my PC)
Really cool. I discovered something interesting today, under your Pedia tab(in game) where it shows what fish/insects you have caught, if there is a blue circle with a building in the top right corner of the creatures picture, it means you already donated it to the musium. If there is no circle, you haven't donated it yet. Enjoying the videos. Keep up the good work :)
Great tip, John! I forgot that was in the game. I like how quick it is to see that info in the inventory screen as well.

Love this feature! On this note there seems to be a slight bug with this that only applies to Critters - Critters collected via Crab Pots don't show up as discovered/donated in the pedia. I've found 2 Critters I have collected + donated to the museum from my Crab Pots and have double checked that they are 100% in my museum chilling in their tanks but are currently blank in my Pedia so do keep that in mind when checking off the list this way. I was very confused when I crossed off the last critter on my sticky note but still had 2 missing in my Pedia 🤣🤣
@@plasmarine5781 same. Someone from my residents dropped the very rare blue sea slug on the recycle bin and when I've donated it to the museum it's not on my pedia. Haha
@@jred2957 Wow! That is VERY lucky! It took me 4 full nights of Jet Skiing the entirety of my maps oceans to find that damn slug! lol
So basically only ones you've actually caught yourself show in the Pedia. Hopefully they fix or change that as I feel like if you're lucky enough to get it in Recycling, Crap Pots or any other method you should get the entry 🤣 Especially since collecting critters was the only reason I was using Crab Pots hahaha
There's a mod that adds the creature names to the Pedia page. Very helpful! I hated having to click each tile, just to see the names.

If you ever decide to tour other people's town, I'm game as well as a couple of friends I'd guess.
Like you, the planting with auto pickup would be an issue. Maybe a hotkey to turn the feature on and off would resolve the problem

press P to disable the auto pick up. Press P again to use
I'm trying to install these on the steam deck. I've downloaded Bepinex6 but when I start the game, no plugins or config folders are created. It's driving me insane!! Help!
You can toggle auto pickup with a button so planting is easier
i would like a seperate saving button so i dont have to waste days
I believe he is working on a save anywhere and pause for solo play already according to his discord. He has I think the pause in his testing right now. So hopefully soon we will see both of those options in game soon.
You can already pause, hit esc, go to quit menu, there's a pause button.

“Control P” turns the auto pick up on and off.

off auto pickup. You can change in config.
Very impressive, I'm gonna try that mod also. but I suggest you have to try the Dinkum_Mod_Plus for easy and quick access to auto pick up, you can just type on & off from chat section to be able and disable the auto pick up...anyway thanks for this tips video..
HotKey [default F2]: The Unity's key that will toggles the auto pickup.
Would like to point out a glitch of the autostack. if you have a stack of traps and you throw them down on the ground, neither the game nor the mod will recognize them as a stack of traps once they leave your inventory. Just a single trap. I have accidently dropped a stack of 15 or 20 traps by inadvertantly hitting the Q (default drop item key) and losing all but one of the traps. That can be quite painful and expensive to replace.
I'm amazed at how many mods there are ... and how many I've installed. The underlying framework seems to be really functional. I've yet to try a mod that didn't work as described.

Has this changed since it was uploaded. The folders and files dont match this video. and when I open the BepInEx folder, there is then a core folder....I was hoping this would be easy...

It's not working on Steam Deck for me either. I only get the core folder, even after opening the game.
The plugins were not in there for me. I saw that folder in Dinkum Data! Why, please tell me. Tyvm :)

can we play with friends with mods?
I do not see that file. All I have in the zip is a .dll
I really don't know why, but my game runs NO mod... not a single one. I did all the steps now like 5 times, the game starts but there are no mods :(
I cannot find the version of BepInEx you have. All I can find is the one that is 6.0.0 Pre.1 and I'm pretty sure that is not the correct version I need as with that version None of the mods work.
That's the correct file. As Fetch Quest said, you unpack the archive into your Dinkum root folder, launch the game and quit, to make sure your support directories are properly set up. The mods, themselves are simply dlls that you extract into your Dinkum\BepInEx\plugins folder. After installing a mod and running the game once, it may install a configuration file to Dinkum\BepInEx\config. If you wanted to change any of the mod defaults, you'd do it there.
I tried clicking the link to get to the mod download and I am taken to the generic Steam Community page. Is there something else I need to be looking for?
Hi Tina, it should show a Steam page and also start a download of the zip folder. I tried it on PC, don’t think it works on mobile. Hopefully the link isn’t broken.

I actually found how to get it by going to another mod page that had the link. Now to get better vanilla for my game.
I have a wireless controller that I use on my switch console.. I'm not used to playing with my keypad, so it would be great ig i can use it.. i tried using my controller but it wasn't working.. I'm playing on my laptop. It's the first time I played on steam.. would you help me figure how I can use my controller please 🙏
I believe you would need a Bluetooth adapter for your PC to connect the wireless switch controller

It depends on the mod. Most do. If not, the mod author author will usually have a warning on the mod description page.

For some reason the BepInEx folder doesnt have the sub folders when I downloaded them (where the plugins would go)
Make sure to at least run your game once. The plugins folder won't be there unless you've started Dinkum after copying the BepInEx files onto the game folder

I tried is cool but lost completely the fun from the game I was so greed I get many mods and i kind of regret
How did you get the spectral dinkum better vanilla? I tried looking but it says to "Extract DinkumBetterVanilla.dll", the dll file looks scrambled when I try to look at it(and my comment is getting messed up)
Edit: -Nevermind one mod said the game fixes that after a bit- I was wrong, I don't understand how to do crap

Press F2 to toggle auto pickup when doing stuff like that.
