Gails story is tragic. She was found dead with empty vodka bottles around her apartment. The Hollywood dream.
🤯 Good for her, but if she had had any taste in alcohol. It would have been empty Whiskey 🥃 bottles !.......
Sad about Gail as i learned about it even though i had never heard of her thank you.
One of my all-time favorite movies is The Uninvited. Gail Russell had an innocent face with sultry eyes. It is sad that the viewing pleasure I have watching her movies was indirectly a cause of such unhappiness.
So so so saaad. I've had a crush on Gail since first seeing The Uninvited 20 years ago. My favorite actress ever! Keep your Marilyns and Jaynes! It's only Gail. Weeelll... maybe Audrey too! 😊
Accurate tribute to Gail Russell with some excellent portraits of the actress. Refreshing to see a documentary of Gail that did not continue the myth that she had an affair with John Wayne. Sad tale of an actress who had the potential to be a great star,as director Joseph Losey once said.
Most likely, poor Gail suffered from social anxiety disorder. Everyone said she was just very shy, but social anxiety is much more crippling and dibilitating. I blame her mother for her death, her mother wanted to live her life through her daughter's, no matter the cost. She pushed her daughter into a career that Gail wasn't really interested in, this is a very familiar tale seen then and now. Too bad Gail never continued her artwork, she might have lead a happy and long life. Poor Gail, may she rest in peace...

One of Hollywood's more tragic stories. Such a pretty actress, if not terribly talented. Perhaps with training her acting chops could have been developed more, but it was not to be. Her extreme shyness and avoidance of people makes me wonder if she was autistic (Asperger's). Another sad case of Hollywood grooming an actor, chewing them up and then cruelly spitting them out.
