- She was born Betty Gale Russell on September 21, 1924, in Chicago, Illinois. Her family moved to Los Angeles when she was a teenager. Gail was a very shy young lady who was discovered by Paramount Pictures when she was still in High School. Within a short time, she was a Hollywood star but was never comfortable in front of the camera. Unfortunately, Gail found a way to handle her nerves, and it became one of Hollywood’s tragedies!

It is so refreshing to see a video on GAIL RUSSELL that is 95% accurate.However,black and white photos can never make people realize how truly beautiful GAIL RUSSELL really was.

SOMEbody should have helped this poor dear lady: she had the most beautiful face I ever saw; so ethereally gorgeous - she made Liz Taylor look "hard" by comparison

I discovered Gail Russell on another channel and was drawn to her sad story, especially her relationship with Guy. When this video popped up in my feed, I had to watch. I love the different voices and all the newspaper clippings that you use. You put a lot of work into your videos. Subscribed!

Around 16:50, its poignant seeing that clipping about Gail being suspended, given that directly below is mention of Marie (The Body) McDonald's personal trauma having one of the many miscarriages which contributed to her downward spiral and early death by overdose in 1965. McDonald made it to 42 before calling it quits, after 6-7 miscarries and 5-6 divorces.

Sounds like another victim of narcissist abuse through her parents. A problem still widely overlooked, downplayed and blamed on the victims. The victims will rather blame themselves than accept the terrible truth that the people who should have loved and protected her only exploited them.
I think there is a lot of blame to go around, It is sad that she knew she had a problem and could recover,
