after Jakarta I recommend you travel to Bandung and Yogyakarta. and if you want to go hiking, you can go to Mount Bromo. its beautifull..Enjoy your trip
Explore South Jakarta area. I bet you will change your opinion about Jakarta is a city in a between india and Vietnam ( is it right better than india but bellow Vietnam? Correct me if I’m wrong )
to cross street can use bridge cross, push button lamp i dunno what is name
You have to install online transportation to make it easier for you when traveling and ordering foods delivery
Welcome to Indonesia 😊 If you're only in Indonesia for a short time, I recommend that you do some research once in a while and decide what you want to visit, so you can save time. Hope you get the best experience in Indonesia 😊
Thank you so much for your warm welcome :D We usually did some research but only for the first day we like to wander and feel the city like it is. We enjoyed it and can't wait to discover more of Jakarta and the rest of the country
Please don't run when you cross the street, just walking slowly but sure.. if you run in the midle of street it will make drivers confuse and panic.. so it a danger... For interesting side of Jalarta you guys can go to SCBD/ Sudirman Street...
I dont know why lot of foreigners who come to jakarta always stay at the old part of jakarta like central near north jakarta. Even as jakartan I really avoid to go to that area. I suggest you to stay at the South or central Jakarta, its more foreigner friendly
Yup I agree with you. Better stay/walk around menteng/gondangdia/cikini area at central jkt or stay/walk around blok m/kemang/senayan area at south jkt. It's more convenient. Some part of jkt there're still under construction on going like mrt, lrt, pedestrian walk etc
This is all because they want to go to historical areas in Jakarta, even though that area isn't intersting for fhe locals, in my opinion Jakarta has to upgrade the location of tourist attractions on the Google map, because there are so many places that are not recommended and lame. where the local attractions are, the one in the south there is no information at all on google. it is deeply regretted
Lebih murah kali, to me personally, I don't want to go that area 😂. Kenapa mereka gak tinggal di sekitar jalan Sabang yg murah, bersih dan nyaman, malah tinggal di tempat kumuh dan semrawut kaya daerah kota tua. 😅
Gak punya duit sih tapi bisa jalan jalan, gue aja kalo ke Singapore biar bawa duit pas pasan kalo akomodasi pasti cari daerah Bugis/Orchard, mahal dikit tapi nyaman
@@fhjktid1 exactly! Kota tua is the worst area in Jakarta, and it's know for its traffic
@@citizenoftheworld7899 . Setuju dengan lo bro...cari yg murah. 😂
In fact, there are many pedestrian bridges in Jakarta, especially in Central Jakarta and South Jakarta, so if you are keen to see them you can use them, maybe you have to walk a little to find them. For example, I saw that near the Istiqlal Mosque there is actually a bridge crossing but you instead choose to cross at the zebra crossing, it's okay but you can sigh a little if you go on the bridge. Then, in Jakarta there are many one-way streets, so you have to be careful crossing one-way streets because usually the drivers are really fast hahaha. My advice is that you can get around Jakarta with TransJakarta, this is one of the largest BRT networks in the world.
Thank you so much for the information Jonathan ❤️ oh amazing we didn't know that. We will try to take one of those, we saw several of them during our visit. Seems really convenient 🙂
Im here from the thumbnail
Going to non touristy city with 20 million people live there, have little research and don't know how to do instead make CZcams video.
Jakarta Amazing? Which part? You just walking around in the middle of nowhere right? Even Don't know the history behind this city, right? Amazing where? Interesting.
As a Betawi person who still survive to not lose our land here, i hope it is worth your effort.
Paling nyari viewer indo doang bang, maklum youtuber baru
@@marwasalbiah mau sukses ngeyoutube konten kaya gini? Hehehe
Moga sukses deh.
@@PortalMakassar hahaha, doain aja bang. Paling abis ini bingung dia abis ini mau ngapain, ujung-ujungnya ngereview street food atau SCBD 😂😂😂
the glutinous ball is "cilok" made from tapioca starch and a little bit of chicken. jakarta has kinda two sides, old Jakarta and modern Jakarta. if you want to go anywhere in Jakarta, just use TransJakarta or any public transportation (LRT, MRT, Commuter Line)
You guys have the most beautiful accent....What warms my ❤️ the most is your relaxed and composed reactions to the surrounding chaos
Woa thank you so much for your kind words 🥰 You made our day Yana ❤️
Kalian berdua harus mencoba Tuak satu Galon full...itu minuman tradisional Indonesia yang segar juga menyehatkan badan
Salam dari Nganjuk,England🏴🏴🏴🏴🏴🏴🏴🏴
You can try go to skywalk Senayan park of Jakarta city ❤️❤️🙏🇮🇩
Thank you for the recommendation Ahmad ❤️🥰
Thank you for visiting Indonesia. Have fun.
Thank you for the warm welcome 🥰🇮🇩
Yang penting enak.selamat datang di indonesia.
The video editing is improving! I used your videos in part to navigate Malaysia and had a great time, and continue watching your videos just because I like your personalities. Honestly I like that you wander around because often I feel it's very realistic. I always do a lot of research when I visit new places but inevitably I get lost or get sidetracked. It's all part of traveling and in fact your wandering is my FAVORITE part of watching these videos. Keep it up! Love the channel! 🎉
Hello, your kind comment made our day thank you so much! We are happy to read that our travel videos in Malaysia are still useful. And also happy that you like the raw and realistic way we filmed. Thank you for always supporting us
Selamat datang di Jakarta Indonesia🇮🇩
If you want to see clear jakarta, you can go when “Car Free Day” it’s on Sunday from 6-10am. There will be no car and you can walk to see jakarta
Thank you so much for the tip Laverus 🥰
when you walk beside the road, try to walk on the left side of the road, it'll be safer.
enjoy Jakarta 😃
Oh thank you for the tip dyasious 🥰
Bali
Jakarta
Gunung Bromo/jawa
Pasir putih lombok
Kebun raya bogor/taman safari
Kota Bandung
Sumatra
Komodo/Sulawesi
Raja ampat/papua
Dan banyak lagi.. brother😂
Terima kasih 😊😊
Jakarta is wide, you have to explore everything that many tourists come to
Will do :D
Bubur kacang hijau. Bubur can be made from rice or other lentil-type food item. Some are made from rice, bubur ayam. Ayam is chicken. It is rice porridge with shredded chicken topping. The one Lyn had is called bubur kacang ijo or hijau. It is made of mung beans. There is also bubur ketan hitam, made of black glutinuous rice.
I love jakarta city 😊❤❤❤❤
Us too ❤❤🇮🇩
I love your french accent, you guys keep healthy and some tips for you: mountainous interior of java is superbs, among the most fertile lands of the planet. You can expect to find tea plantations, botanical gardens, rice terraces, proper tropical jungle etc and it's a perfect time for enjoying it, since it's now the end of rainy season. Happy travels.
Btw u guys actually really easy to find food seller because they have a lot in everywhere in indonesia
Dan and lyn, many people told me that many tourists just visit lombok, bali or gili. Skip the capital and other big cities. That is why not many tourists or foreigners there. So if you visit bali, lombok, gili you will see many tourists there.
Yeah you are right. I think people are more attracted to Bali and otherd places. We will go there too ;)
Lyn very brave crossing that street
Haha yes 😊 So happy when she reach the other side of the street 🙂
Sudirman street, blok m, senopati, and Kemang is like the “cool kids” are located, so yeah, gotta check them out
Keep being healthy. I hope you have good experiences in Indonesia. Don't hesitate to ask Indonesians to help when you find a problem
06:00 National Monument, right in the center of the National Monument park. there are so many important buildings around it including presidential palace.
06:01 Indonesia National Army Headquarters. (land forces)
10:10 Istiqlal Mosque, biggest Mosque in Southeast Asia until this time and one of the biggest in the world. it is standing right in front of the church. you can visit if you want, try to ask the security to enter, and they will have some staff like tour guide explaining history of the Mosque.
for the food, im suggesting Terang Bulan (some kind of sweet pancake), Sate Ayam (chiken satay with peanut sauce), and maybe you can try some of the traditional drink like Cendol, Dhawet, Es Campur.
Also as an Indonesian, i find crossing in Vietnam more complicated than i thought 😂
It's so scary to cross in vietnam everytime... but at the end when we understand the system we just pray that the driver actually sees us and we have to move forward haha 😅
jakarta sangat tertinggal dari bangkok, KL, Singapura soal kenyamanan bagi turis.
Samain juga jumlah penduduk nya 😊
Welcome to Jakarta city
Thank you 🥰
Welcome to Jakarta Indonesia
Thank you very much for the warm welcome 🤗🥰
Welcome to Indonesia🇮🇩🇮🇩
Thank you ❤🇮🇩
2:44 guys the Brand is Indomaret 😅 and Air Minum just mean ( Water for drink ).
Haha 😅
Waw...you have a great soul and spirit
Wellcome to JKT
iyan
Hi iyan my friend, thanks ☺
Thx for coming to Jakarta Lin and Dan ...
6:50 I think it's just cilok. If it is, it doesn't have meat. Just tapioca flour and some other ingredients for taste. Some cilok does added by some meat (chicken/beef), but the ones sold on the street usually don't have added meat (using meat will make it more expensive).
11:40 not all bubur in Indonesia made from rice (white), some use glutinous rice (bubur ketan hitam), mung bean (bubur kacang hijau), rice flour (bubur sumsum).
The one with white rice usually for breakfast and is considered meal, topping usually consist of chicken, fried shallots, some celery, etc.
The others are more like snacks/dessert and served with coconut milk, usually sold at night.
Cilok = kind of tapioca ball
The thing that you thought as glutinous, meatball.
welcome to jakarta my friends
Thank you my friend :D
My goodness, what is the speed limit of running cars in Jakarta? I cannot cross the street like that 😬Its kinda similar to Vietnams road culture with less blowing of horns atleast. Im always fascinated about the street foods of Indonesia and i hope you can feature more.
Jakarta got many public transportation, i suggest u to use one of them (BRT, KRL, MRT) and i recommend u to not go outside when it rush hour, cause it chaos
happy holiday in my country 🇮🇩
Thank you so much Julius 🥰 Love our experience here 🇮🇩❤️
Hi Dan and Lyn, enjoying your videos visiting Indonesia (and your other travel videos). If you have the opportunity, to experience real local traditional Indonesian food, try gado gado (Indonesian salad), sate (barbecue), rendang, nasi goreng, soto ayam and for dessert, martabak (very delicious!). Wish you enjoy the rest of your Indonesia trip! Will you be swinging by Bali?
Hi Wie Pan 😊 we are very happy you enjoyed our videos ❤️ thank you for all the recommendation, so many foods to eat 🤤. We are not 100% sure but probably yes 😊
Actuellement toujours dana l'ambiance des celebrations de l'Aid Moubarak
🥰 vous parlez français ? 😯
How hot is it in Jarkata? We are traveling in Kuching, Borneo and it's 🥵. More humid than hot really. Just step out and you start dripping in sweat.
You guys are brave eaters and street crossers.😂
Wonderful indonesia
So wonderful ☺️
Semoga liburan anda menyenangkan.
As foreigner i think you need to research first about jakarta and where do you want to go while were in jakarta and what food do you want to try so you can save time and money.. first in jakarta you need try street food called martabak its sweet and delicious its easy to find martabak stall in indonesia especially jakarta 👍
Thank you for the recommendation my friend we will try it. We are actually more a slow traveler, we like to take our time to observe the life in one place and absorb the vibes. Especially for the first day :)
We saw many interesting places to visit here in Jakarta and will make sure go to there and see
5:09 why are you both going there guys, near the Victory stop there is a pelican crossing, you two are a cute couple, that's what made me like you😊, I saw you guys visited Jakarta when the Juanda sidewalk had not been revitalized yet, so this is a video a few months ago I noticed, but that's okay, I liked this video.
The glutinous ball is made of manihok flour...it's called "cilok" (pronounced "chee-lock").
To cross the busy street....try to raise your hand pointing to the sky...I guarantee every car and motorcycle will give you way.
To walk in contra-flow traffic....just put your arm and hand like you want to say "No"....motorcycles will stop and give you a way...
You guys stay in the north the city kind of old town of 10 million population, however don’t worry you will safe all-the time compare to The Gare du Nord and Gare de l’Est area in Paris.
You have to go to south of the city or central to get more clear vision of this city
Haha your comment makes us smile. I like how you compare Jakarta to Gare du Nord and Gare de L'Est and I have to say that we feel indeed much safer here! We can't wait to see more of Jakarta :)
it seems that you only explore a small part of Jakarta guys, which is also in the small part of Central JKT too.. you supposed coming to the South, East & West to know much more & complete vision about JKT .. cheers
Definitely!! Thanks for the advice 😊
Di jakarta jangan lupa ke ragunan zoo🐯🦁🐼🐻, kepulauan seribu🏝🏝, museum gajah, taman mini indonesia indah, monas, dufan dunia fantasi.
Di bandung kawah putih, tangkuban parahu, ciater/ maribaya
Prambanan, borobudur, blue flame kawah ijen,
Amazing 🎉
Indeed 😊
Actually is more easy to cross the street in jakarta and all the city of Indonesia, you just need to rise your right hand towards the vehicle while you walk, don't run and don't step back just walk forward or stay put if you feel not safe. You will feel confident and comfort if stay more longer in Indonesia, you don't need to find zebra crossing, just crossed where ever you want and rise your mighty right hand to their face
Haha thanks for the great tips. We are getting more and more comfortable to cross now. Little by little ❤
7-11 was operate in Indonesia, but then closed because they wrong strategic businesses in here. Beside Indomaret and Alfarmart, local company as two major brand in minimarket industry, we also have "internasional franchise brands" like AM. PM, Circle K, Lawson, farmer market, and Carefour but had accusationed by Indonesian company to be Transmart, etc.
Ohh I seeee, thank you for the explanation 🤓 It seems that Indomaret and Alfa mart are the main one
Most of foreignner when visiting Jakarta that i see on CZcams always following the same pattern. They tend to visit only some parts in Western and Central Jakarta only. Like Kota tua, Monas, Istiqlal, etc again and again😅. I don't know why but Jakarta is more than that. Probably google recommendation too😅
Haha Probably google recommendation. We will head to all of these places too :)
If you have others places in mind we'll appreciate it
1:05 I remember going to like 6 ATMs before being able to withdraw cash in Colombo, Sri Lanka. I was sure one of the machines would swallow my card after so many failed attempts. Similar experience in Havana, although it worked on the 4th or so ATM.
Woaa so stressful experience 😯 So happy when everything go smoothly haha
Welcome to Indonesia guys,, hoping you both enjoying all of the good and bad side thing of Indonesia,,,😅.. you can asking to local people if you need help when you lost street.
Thank you so much for your warm welcome. We already love Indonesia
Welcome to Indonesia 😉🇲🇨
Thank you so much :)
The area you staying and walking around are the old part of jkt. There're many under constructions still going on.
Dan and Lyn.. I thought you were originally Indonesian because of your face and hair color and tropical skin. Welcome to Indonesia..
Thank you for your warm welcome my friend. We are from France but with asian parents haha It explains the colors of our skins :)
4:07 , the wall beside you is a part of Indonesian presidential palace complex. The area which you are walked i think is the president's secretary office.
Check out Bundaran HI area and walk along Sudirman-Thamrin street, SCBD area, Blok M via MRT, Monas (national monument), Kota Tua, cafe hopping around Senopati areas, PIK area, what else hahah. Recommend you to stay in South/Center Jakarta. West, North, East are very local-ish.
if you want to see lots of tourists to Bali Lombok NTT gilli trawangan
just for your nformation, seven eleven stores are no longer operating in Indonesia in 2017
Thanks for the info 😊
I don't think you guys can compare Jakarta to India's situation, sure thing in Jakarta there are no more beggars like Dalit caste in India, our government work so hard since 2014 to relocate beggars who used to live on the street side, under the bridge, and riverside, to their new apartment in North Jakarta area. Also, the horns on Jakarta's streets only in moderate noises when the driver feels there is some annoying driving habit, unlike in India streets will be full volume horns along the streets. But thank you for visiting, and have fun.
There was seven eleven in Indonesia but it closed permanently i think around 2017.
just in case you guys struggling to cross the street just be decisive and raise your hand a bit (the stop hand)
Looks like safer to cross roads at night.
I think you did a wrong choice to stay near Jakarta old town, it is the most crowded area because it is near pasar pagi (morning market), it is better to stay near Jalan Jaksa or Blok M. 😂
Hahaha it's okay we love the lively streets, just need to be a little careful for crossing haha 😆
@@DanandLyn be careful when crossing because that's area is known for the over crowded traffic, have a good time here in Indonesia, Merci ...
7 Eleven no longer exists in Indonesia because they can't compete with the local store like Alfamart and Indomaret
We allready have 7 eleven guys , but they are bangkrupt right now in indonesia hehehehe........like uber too , they not exist again in indonesia because we have grab n gojek........
It was more enjoyable and easier to understand without the masks. Love your videos.
Thank you. We often forget to take the mask off but we are going to be more mindful with it :)
Go to the South Jakarta area
It would be change your opinion about Jakarta is between india and Vietnam
Well noted thanks :)
Selamat datang guys😊
Terima kasih 😊
You can try visit Bandung City, because the weather is cold and the Netherlands called Bandung City is Paris Van Java (Paris dari Pulau Jawa)
Bubur kacang hijau is a lentil poridge with black glutinous rice, coconut cream, and palm sugar syrup. It is kind of dessert for us but sometimes for breakfast too. Btw sorry for people who ride motorbike at the pedestrian, a lot of stupid people who dont know what is pedestrian function. As indonesian myself, i hate it too.
Welcome.. You must visit other city : yogyakarta, malang, bali, bandung, labuhan bajo etc.. 1 month visa : 😋 its lack .. Waiting for your new videos..
Raise your hand when you cross the street..that's is magic way
3:24 no, they don't think you are a lost person, maybe you will be mistaken as an Indonesian because your faces are like Indonesians 😊
Its true..
You said Jakarta is similar to vietnam (lets say ho chi minh the capital city) which I dont agree. You guys need to go to Sudirman, Thamrin, Senayan, Kuningan, BSD area then you will find different vibes. Been to three cities in Vietnam btw but never been to India. Enjoy Jakarta! 🙂
You can try go to SCBD sudirman city
Thank you for the suggestion 😊
I think Must try martabak in indonesia...
Thank you for the suggestion, we have to try that 😋🤤
It is so nice to feel your vibes. Interesting to see while you both spend time in Infonesia. Easier way to cross the road just raise one hand highest as you could for asking permition to have your time to cross. It would be nicer if you could do some experiencing tasting and review local food varieties. Have some time to have their uniqueness taste and the atmosphere. Travelling will be completed to know deeper about culture & foods for better understanding. Best why to get intouch for having since taste has their own value. Like it or not it is part of indentity to get to know. Googling first before you choose so you both anticipate the taste and knowing how to eat and to mix ingredient available served on the table. Espcialy for the spicy hot one. One the spot review would be great. Thank you for sharing the positive vibes. Have a great time😊🆒🙏
Thank you for the tip Akoy ☺️ Really happy you think it's interesting too. We hope we will create interesting videos in Indonesia 😊 We love trying local food, we are sure we will have opportunities to try different varieties of food hehe 😋🤤Hope you will have a great time with us 🥰
@@DanandLyn as some additional info would be nice to add some resume or conclusion after some walks when you both got to the hotel as clossing. Don't be shy to ask or chatting with local. Kind a funny if you both will find clumsy situation or cheering just to get what each other say. Thank you for your nice reply. Happy traveling for both of you guys😊🙏👍
if you want to cross the road, just use your hands to stop the motorbike or car, they will understand haha but still have to be careful
Seven-Eleven, entered the Indonesian market since 2009 but decided to go out of business from this country in 2017 citing the lack of sales as the reason for him and being unable to compete with local minimarkets such as Indomaret & Alfamart..Pepsi also suffered the same fate
Ohh interesting! Thank you for sharing Ary 😊
Careful with all the traffic, whew that's dangerous
Haha yes we are extra careful with the traffic 🥰 But it's okay we learn how to cross little by little and we follow the locals haha 😆
Where are you from guys? Both of you seem like local people.. ,
SCBD modern city of jakarta
Thank you for the recommendation ☺️☺️
Go to bromo pleaseee🎉
Thanks for the suggestion. Definitely will check out ❤🇮🇩
It's really scary to see you guys went straight to presidential palace on your first day or two in Jakarta. The pavement is so bad there and as a local, I wouldn't try to walk there. Anyway have a nice and memorable trip here in Indonesia, God bless and protect you!
6:49 That Cilok
Thanks for the heads up 😀
Jakarta Rasuna Said EPI CENTRUM IS GOOD FOR YOU..
AND CAN BE ENJOY AT THARE..🙏🏻❤️🙏🏻
try martabak bro, very good pancake from indonesia
Thank you for the food suggestion 😋 We'll try that hehe 🤤
Of course there are no tourists in Jakarta, because Jakarta is not a tourist place. if you want to travel, try to visit Bali! 😊
Because they stayed and walked around in wrong area
We will probably go to Bali too 😊 But we also like to walk around no touristy places, just to see the everyday life
There's quite a bunch Seven Eleven in Jkt, but they are so dispersed in specific locations.
No, 7-11 not operated anymore in Indonesia because the company is closed, they have wrong strategic businesses in here.
@@masakmakanngopi yep, I remembered it wrong. It's Circle K which still exists.
Ah okay thanks 😊 yeah we saw some circle K
Nice…
Thanks :)
Tbh, you guys look like a local in Indonesia..😂
You won’t find 7eleven, at least for now.. their business had failed in Indonesia coz the competitors (like indomaret & alfamart) are too strong..
I recommend visit PIK 2
Thank you for the suggestion ☺️🥰
There was 7 Eleven in 2007 ,but lost competition with Indomart and Alfamart ......
Ooh they were here.. I see. Thank you for sharing 😊😊
