Overview
The F-86 Sabre is one of the most iconic and recognizable fighter aircraft ever built. As one of the first-ever jet-powered fighter aircraft with swept wings, it achieved an unmatched victory ratio of 10 to 1 against the MiG-15 during the Korean War. Lieutenant Jim Thompson was credited with shooting down two MiGs during that time, one of which had a dragon painted on the side. Soon after, he had a similar dragon painted on the side of his iconic F-86, known as “The Huff.” The E-flite UMX F-86 Sabre 30mm EDF is an ultra-micro-sized model of the famous aircraft that arrives factory-assembled and ready to fly right out of the box, including a premium fully painted with waterslide decal finish. It’s equipped with an updated and optimized 4S-compatible power system to meet modern-day EDF performance expectations-making it the highest-performance ultra-micro class jet model yet! It’s also equipped with expertly tuned AS3X and optional-use SAFE Select technologies, plus it provides real-time battery voltage and other telemetry information to compatible transmitters. And because of its ultra-micro size, pilots can fly the UMX F-86 in more places and smaller spaces than most other EDF models, including at many large parks and sports fields! The fixed landing gear with a steerable nosewheel makes it easy to taxi, take off from, and land on smooth surfaces. Or, you can remove the landing gear for more speed and vertical performance with easy hand launches - thanks to the automatic Hand Launch Assist mode - over and landings on grass. It all adds up to deliver an authentic, affordable, and convenient F-86 flying experience you can’t get with any other model!

These E flite UMX planes are SO popular, and you can see why from this video. I mean, all this sexiness and THEN; proper ball linkages on SUCH a small plane. There are quite a few small warbirds with props now, so it's nice to see the jets coming forward also. A perfect landing from Pilot Robert there.. I bet the coffee was good today!

If you run forward a few pacers, as you hand launch.
This will double the air speed over the wing, making hand lunches a lot better, and easier.

Hello, F - 86 made by the people that brought you the P - 51 Mustang. I saw an F - 86 flying at an air show in 1993.
Would love to see one in real my friend.
@@PetrincicBrosRC Hello, at the same air show was Jimmie Franklin and his Black & Silver Waco Biplane. The Sabre did many of the same maneuvers. It was a special day. The F- 86 had the same livery but did not get close enough to see a dragon. By the way there is a movie " The Hunters (1958) ". It featured F - 86s as the main aircraft. I liked the movie back then, but it was because it had aircraft. The movie may actually be bad except for the flight scenes.

😂 Robert, your assessment is really predictable! It is always 9.5, unless some really annoying happens. If you think this plane is perfection, why not give it a 10? You don’t have to keep this for a better one - there can be multiple 10s in parallel. BTW: the trimming out of the box is a bit up and this might be, why it took off too steep when launching from runway. If it is trimmed well, it has to run quite a while until it has enough speed to lift - unless you force it. Your flight has been all on Safe, right? If so, be prepared that it will climb like crazy, when you switch to AS3X. The F-86 flies super nice also on AS3X, but it is a bit more challenging than a P-51 e.g. - still it tracks very well, in the air and on the ground. Very easy to land for this reason, but on a smooth runway, it may roll out quite a bit for such a small plane and you can’t slow it down too much as it is kind of heavy for the narrow and relatively small wings. This is at least my experience so far, but I don’t have that many flights myself yet (~10). Worth mentioning is, that it really isn’t loud, particularly when comparing to older 30mm EDFs like Citation or A-10. It’s almost comparable to UMX Timber X vs TT Evo. 😄
When you fly faster, the lipo will drain a lot quicker, so, I would agree with what Blaz said and adjust to 3.5mins. My battery was like 9% a couple of times after some speed runs. (And I was on 4 mins, too).
Nice flying, Robert and very good camera work, Blaz! These tiny planes are for sure super hard to film, particularly on that zoom level and then kept in frame… 👏👍🏻
I really give almoust all the time 9.5 But if you think the birds are really getting better and better. I cant remember when was the last time I had real problems with RC plane. Its really strange but I do love them all the same even if I have problems. Hard to explain with words. Thanks for your great comment and you are totaly correct with your assessment.
