- Today on Booze On The Rocks, we make a Hand Grenade cocktail. Created in Louisianna at the Tropical Isle Bar by Earl Bernhardt and Pam Fortner at the Louisianna World Exposition in 1984. With the tagline Louisianna's Strongest Drink. This strong cocktail is spirit heavy with melon and pineapple flavours. Try it out, and let me know what you think.

HAND GRENADE
1 oz/30 ml Gin
1 oz/30 ml Vodka
1 oz/30 ml White Rum
1.5 oz/45 ml Melon Liqueur
1.5 oz/45 ml Pineapple Juice
Method
1. Add all of the ingredients to a shaker tin.
2. Shake with crushed ice for 5-8 seconds.
3. Free pour into a a beer glass half filled with crushed ice.
4. Top with more crushed ice.
5. Garnish with a cocktail Cherry.

Thank you very much., Cut the Booze in half, and keep the pineapple juice the same.
I know many people that would love these things, but tweaks for me would be required (if the booze does not get you the sugar will). I can see an amount of lime to balance the sweetness would help, again for me. Still a great video.

Pulled it!!! I luv’d Hand Grenades on Bourbon St when I was in my 20’s and 30’s, and well you get it. Dave was right, 3 oz of pineapple juice and I didn’t use fresh press, Jumex pineapple necutar. I also up’s the Midori to 2 oz with everything else the same as in the video. So like the original without the powdered bag of mix they use now!
It does work and addimg more pineapple juice makes it better.
I've seen this served in an actual grenade shaped tiki-style glass
